Thomas R. Binger, age 46 of McKeesport, passed on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born October 29, 1969 in McKeesport, he was the son of Chris (Breletic) Binger and the late Gary M. "Red" Binger, and beloved husband of Lori A. Tatkus-Binger for 21 years. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Schae, of home; grandmother, Dominga Breletic, of McKeesport; sister, Melissa Binger, of McKeesport; niece, Lily Binger; brother, Matthew (Shannon Payne) Binger, of New York; uncles, Robin Breletic and Kevin (Kim) Breletic; sister-in-law, Chris (Joe) DiBattista; cousins, Carly, Dylan and Ryan; and his cherished dogs, Scrappy, Onyx, Zeus and Pollo. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Charlotte Tatkus. Thomas worked for UPMC McKeesport where he was a dedicated surgical technician for many years. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Stanley P. Horvat, age 61 of Elizabeth Twp., formerly of West Mifflin, passed on Friday, July 15, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian. Born July 17, 1954 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Hamar) Horvat, and beloved husband of Sharon (Raymer) Horvat. Stanley was employed with US Steel Duquesne Works, where he worked in the accounting department for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd degree Knight and was a longtime member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth. He was a devoted grandfather who loved to spend time with all of his grandkids, especially collecting football cards for them to enjoy. In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his children, Matthew (Jaime) Horvat of Brentwood, Erica (Glenn) Ace of White Oak, Nicolle (Allen) Booth of Elizabeth and Kasey (Raymond) Zang of White Oak; grandchildren, Owen, Kayla, Tyler, Izabella, Cloè, Alexia, Brayden, Faith, Phoebe, Zavier, Stella and Quinn; brother, Alan (Sharon) Horvat of West Mifflin; sister-in-law, Linda (Dean) Gibson of Simpsonville, SC; and many nieces and nephews. Clara E. Horvath, age 94, of McKeesport, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at The Palms of O'Neil in McKeesport. Born October 25, 1921 in Rankin PA, she was the daughter of the late Cosimos and Maria (Salazar) Izzo, and beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Horvath.
Clara was a bookkeeper for Menzie Dairy for 30 years and was a lifelong member of St. Angela Parish in White Oak.
She is survived by her son Joseph (Barbara) Horvath of Morgantown, WV. Grandchildren include Joseph (Samantha), Christopher and Jeffrey Horvath, Josh (Angela) Mason and Jodee (Tim) Heydon. Great-grandchildren are Joseph, Harper, Abigail, Miles, Olivia and Henry; sister Esther Linderman of Mt. Vernon. Clara was also preceded in death by her sister Eva Krol and brother Louis Izzo.

Michael Babyak, age 93 of White Oak, formerly of McKeesport, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at UPMC McKeesport. Born June 3, 1923 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Jon and Mary Babyak, and beloved husband of Margaret (Haynick) Babyak for almost 70 years. Michael was part of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) as a young teen, and later joined the US Army where he honorably served our country during WWII. Following his military service, he worked as a general foreman for US Steel National Tube Works, retiring after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701, AARP Chapter 2911 in Versailles and the Knights of Columbus. He was a very active member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport and a former Holy Name Society member. Some of Michael's favorite pastimes were his trips to the mountains, taking long road trips where he always enjoyed driving, and playing all types of card games with friends and family. Above all, Michael will be remembered as being a family man who devoted his life to his loving family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael A. (Jenny) Babyak of Somerset and Joyce A. (Alan) Goebel of McKeesport; grandchildren, Michele Babyak (Denny Hustead) and Lynette (John) Schuetz; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brandon Schuetz; brother, Edward (Helen) Babyak; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Jon Babyak, Mary Dolores Curley and Helen Kugler. Joan E. Gasser, age 79 of McKeesport, formerly of West Mifflin, passed Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Riverside Care Center in McKeesport. Born January 31, 1937, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel (Hays) Fullard and the wife of the late Albert W. Gasser.
Joan was retired from the former Paule's Lookout and also the Duquesne Golf Club, where she worked as a waitress.
She enjoyed swimming, jazz music, the late great oldies and loved to play all types of cards, she was known as a, "Card Shark!"
She is survived by grandchildren, Jessica Bricker, Lori Beth Campbell, Kristin Gasser and Joe Gasser; great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Andrew Bricker; also nieces and nephew.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by children, Patricia J. Campbell and Theodore Gasser; sister, Patricia Van Horn.

Evelyn L. Kondrich, age 86 of Hempfield Twp., formerly of North Huntingdon, passed on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Latrobe Hospital. Born February 5, 1930 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Edward "Doc" and Rose (Kovac) Dougherty, and beloved wife of the late Charles Kondrich. Evelyn found great joy in the many group bus trips she would take, having traveled across the country many times. She was an avid Steelers Fan, and her enthusiasm for the game will be missed. She also enjoyed spending time tending to her garden at home. She is survived by her children, Mark Kondrich of Irwin, Chris (Janice) Kondrich of Unity Twp., and Lori (Charles) Walk of Hempfield Twp.; grandchildren, John "Randy", Jeremy, Katie, Michelle and Nicole Kondrich; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margaret Ann Goldstrohm, age 84 of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at home. Margaret was a former model and also worked at Katzman's Clothing Store in McKeesport. Margaret's greatest joy was tending to her home. George R. "Skip" Light, age 85 of White Oak, passed peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at The Palms at O'Neil in McKeesport. Born December 27, 1930 in Swissvale, he was the son of the late George A. Light and Helen (Wentroble) Light Butorajac and beloved husband of the late Patty (Hetrick) Light. George honorably served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked for Westinghouse-Bettis in the printing and reproduction department, retiring after more than 30 years of employment. He was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in North Versailles and also a member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701. George's greatest joy was spending time with his family and his surprise visits will be missed by many. He is survived by his son, John R. Light (Tracy Kelley) of White Oak; grandchildren, Jason and Jenna Light and their mother, Jaclyn Light; sister, Miriam (the late Gerald) Miller of Toronto, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Clifford B. Sloane, age 80 of White Oak, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Briarcliff Pavilion in North Huntingdon. Born March 20, 1936 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William and Gertrude (Crookham) Sloane. Clifford honorably served our country in the US Army. Following his military service, he continued his career working for Champion Tool and Die as a shipping and receiving clerk and also as an accounting clerk, having retired after 40 dedicated years. Upon his retirement, Clifford worked tirelessly for several volunteer organizations, including 17 years of offering his services with Meals on Wheels. In his free time, he enjoyed taking walks in White Oak Park, visiting the Casinos and playing the lottery. He found great joy in spending time outdoors working and fishing, but he especially loved tending to his flower bed. Clifford is survived by his brother, Harry R. (Melva) Sloane of Port Richey, FL; and many loving nieces and nephews. She loved to play Bingo with her friends, and always looked forward to her annual trips to Las Vegas. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, especially their outings to the Olive Garden. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, William Carr, Rebecca Federoff, Edwin Lenda, Richard Lenda, Thomas Hokaj, Leo Hokaj and Henry Hokaj; and many great-nieces and nephews. John R. Ruby, age 86 of White Oak, passed away on June 10, 2016 at his home. Born September 8, 1929 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Paul and Julia (Nemeth) Ruby, and beloved husband of the late Lillian B. (Jordanhazy) Ruby for 65 years. He is survived by his children, Toni (the late Henry) Clayton of Florida, John (Lynne) Ruby of Harrisburg and Jeff (Julia) Ruby of Georgia; grandchildren, Emily, Eric, Kara, Kyle, Taylor and Pfc. Conner; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his children, James and Tammy Ruby; and his brother, Gus Ruby. Following his military service in the US Army, John began his career in education and continued on to earn his PhD in Psychology while working. He dedicated his professional career to teaching high school students which eventually evolved to college level as well as practicing in the school and clinical psychology fields. John had a proud affiliation with Phi Delta Kappa fraternity and was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

Charlotte Waskowicz of McKeesport, passed peacefully in the arms of her daughter, Francine, on Sunday, June 5, 2016. It is with great sadness to inform her dear family and friends of her passing. Charlotte is survived by her loving daughter and best friend, Francine Waskowicz. Michael E. Hirjak, age 87 of McKeesport, passed away on May 23, 2016 at The Gardens of Lincoln Court in North Versailles. Born March 15, 1929 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Jula) Hirjak, and beloved husband of the late Margaretta (Mastilak) Hirjak. Michael honorably served in the US Navy, and following his military service, he began his career as a Master Technician for the automotive industry. He worked for many years as the Service Manager at Devereaux Chevrolet and Tom Clark. He was also a member of the White Oak Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. Mike enjoyed playing checkers with his great-grandson Jacob and loved watching his great-granddaughter Maura dance. His talent and passion for fixing things and being an all-around handyman will be missed by many. He is survived by his daughters, Linda M. (Gary Kiesell of White Oak) Kiesell of Liberty Boro, Patricia Ann (the late Bob) Bashore of Elizabethtown, PA and granddaughter, Stacey Tabanli; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Maura Joy Tabanli whom he adored; his loving companion, Norma Budnick; and many nieces and nephews.
