Mary Jane Wiatrowski, 75 of West Mifflin, died Nov. 16, 2018.  She is the daughter of the late William and Marie (Luptak) Ashbaugh.  She is survived by her beloved husband Anthony "Sonny" Wiatrowski; daughters Diane (Robert) Speck and Laura (John) Waugaman; grandchildren Katelyn (Sean Angelo) Waugaman, Brianna Speck and Elizabeth Waugaman and great grandchildren Sophia and Logan Angelo.  A memorial mass will be held Wed., Nov. 21, 2018, 10:00 am at St. Hedwig Church.  Inurnment following St. Hedwig Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements by Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne.

 


John M. "Tubby" Reganick

John M. "Tubby" Reganick, 71 of McKeesport, formerly of Duquesne, died Nov. 18, 2018.  He is the son of the late John and Anna (Chavis) Reganick.  He is survived by his brother George (Diane) Reganick; also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Michael "Butch" Reganick and Edward Reganick. Tubby was retired from the Dept. of Transportation.  He played basketball with Pittsburgh Pipers, Duquesne Zemps and McKeesport Slavs. Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Fri. from 11 to 1:00 pm, at which time a blessing will be held.  Interment following Monongahela Cemetery, North Braddock.

Ilene D. Smerkol, 64, of White Oak died Thursday November 8, 2018. She was the daughter of the late William and Anna Fay (Faust) Horvath. She is survived by her beloved husband David Smerkol; daughter Beverly Smerkol; son James (Connie) Mattox; grandchildren Olivia, Grant, and Wyatt; sisters Carol (Gary) Hospodar and Janet (Walter) Dupier; brother William (Millie) Horvath; and many nieces and nephews. Ilene was a claims clerk at K-mart for over 35 years and was a member of Praise Assembly Church. A private family visitation will be held. Family and friends are invited to the interment Wednesday 11am at St. Mary’s Polish Cemetery, White Oak.

Bernice M Smouse (Aunt B), 83 of O’ Hara Township died Monday October 15, 2018 at UPMC Lighthouse Pointe at Chapel Harbor Senior Residence. She was born May 3 1935 in Duquesne. She is the daughter of the late Homer and Elizabeth (McDermott) Smouse. She lived in the Blawnox/O’Hara Township area since 1987. She worked for Duquesne Light in downtown Pittsburgh for 43 years before retiring. She loved to sew, bake, play card games, do word search puzzle games and loved indoor plants. Survivors include her nephews James, Robert and Philip and nieces Jane, Debra, Doreen and LeAnn.

Vincent "Vinny" C. Hohman, 45, of West Mifflin died Oct. 6, 2018.  He is the son of Lucille (Cataldi) Hohman and the late Urban H. Hohman.  Vinny is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years Beth (Hagadorn) Hohman; children Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Samantha and Emma; siblings Blaine (JoAnn) Hohman, Delina "Del" (Chuck) Donofrio, Kathryn (Paul) Lawry, Urban "JR" (Arla) Hohman and Angela "Angie" (Rod) Minor; also nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.  Vinny was a software analyst and was a member of the Duquesne Croation Club.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Wed. 6-8 and Thurs. 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral blessing will be held Fri. 11:00 am in the funeral home.  Interment following All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery.

Elmer "Bucky" Saunders, 81  of Walkerton, IN, formerly of West Mifflin died Aug. 1, 2018.  He is the son of the late Elmer and Catherine (Hotz) Saunders.  Bucky is survived by his beloved wife Gwendolyn (Bolger) Saunders; daughter Robyn (Alan) Saunders; sister Elsie M. Cheke, 85, of Clarion, formerly of West Mifflin, died July 18, 2018.  She is the daughter of the late William and Mary (Schuchert) Manns and beloved wife of the late William Cheke.  She is survived by her son Bill (Marlene) Cheke and daughter Lisa (Bob) Geer; grandchildren Elise (Josh) Williams, Bela (Erin) Webb, Malinda (Mitchell) Rearick, Josselin Geer, Robert Geer, Jr., Michael Geer, Jacob Geer and Gerry Geer; 16 great grandchildren; sisters Joan Naccarato and Bernice Monzak; also nieces and nephews.  Dolores was preceded in death by her son Dr. Laird Cheke.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Mon. 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral service will be held Tues. 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Karen Parsh.  Interment following St. Hedwig Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.

 


Dolores "Dolly" Popovich

Dolores H. “Dolly” Navaroli Popovich, 91, passed away Saturday July 14, 2018. She was born October 28, 1926 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Gust and Catherine Bosnak Navaroli. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Johnny, Gus and Joe Navaroli and sister Kathryn Pugh. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, McKeesport.

She is survived by her daughters Mary Catherine Schneider of McKeesport and Christine (Michael) Germek of McKeesport, with whom she resided. Three #1 grandchildren, Jason W. Schneider of Miami, Florida, and Amber and Kristin Germek, both of McKeesport; Sister Mollie Claar of Greenock; Sister-in-laws Joanne Navaroli of Westmorland City and Shirley Navaroli of Delmont; Many nieces and nephews and her precious grand puppies Daisy and Autumn.

Dolores was a retired medical transcriptionist in the Pathology Dept. of McKeesport Hospital for over 25 years. She loved to sew and was a wonderful seamstress. She was a devout Catholic, a “real Italian”, coffee expert, loved watching her old scary Boris Karloff movies and being a loving mom and grandmother.

Safko, 69 of West Mifflin, died June 26, 2018.  He is the son of the late Michael and Caroline Safko.  He is survived by his sister Carolyn (the late Robert) Munro; also nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by his brother Robert (Anne) Safko and sister Dorothy (late John) McNansky. Bill was a graduate of West Mifflin North H.S. and Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He served in the US Navy during the Viet Nam era. Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and Tuesday from noon to 1:00 pm at which time a funeral blessing will be held.  Interment following at Holy Name Cemetery.

Audrey J. Westerlund, 93 of West Mifflin, died June 18, 2018.  She is the daughter of the late James and Annetta (William) Stammer and beloved wife of the late E. Glenn Westerlund.  Audrey is survived by her son Charles Dean (Susan) Clemons; grandchildren Sam Clemons, Beth Maha, Glenn Clemons, Bob Clemons, Ricky Guest and Michelle Smith; also great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She is  a retired cashier for Jefferson Regional Medical Center, a member of the Dravosburg United Methodist Church and former member of the Duquesne AARP.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Thurs 10 to Noon, at which time a funeral service will be held.  Interment following Jefferson Memorial Park.
