Marjorie June Glancy Brannan, age 93, of N. Versailles, PA, died at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 29, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Raymond V. and Harriet Murphy Glancy and was born in Gallitzin, PA on July 6, 1925.
She was married for 53 years to the late Edward J. Brannan who died January 29, 2002. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Rhonda) Brannan of Annapolis, MD; Robert (the late Sheree) Brannan of Pasadena, MD; Maureen (the late Andrew) Ryan of Wall, PA; Lorraine (Gene) Rizzo of N. Versailles; Bernadette (David) Galinskie of Shiremanstown, PA; Christine (Michael) Reed of Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren, Andrea Murajda; Jonathan (Emily) Brannnan; Elaine (Dan) Fisher; Vincent Brannan; Ellen (Craig) Wilson; Emmalynn Galinskie; Lucas Reed; Elise Galinskie; Kaitlyn Reed. Also, great grandchild, Layla Wilson and step grandson, Jay (Aimee) Murphy; step great-grandchildren, Kate and Sarah Murphy and sisters; Dolores Sylvestor of Columbia, S. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Walter Buck and Betty and Howard Anstead.
Marjorie graduated in 1943 as a Registered Nurse from Ohio Valley General Hospital and continued as an employee. While raising her children she was employed by McKeesport Hospital and the former Columbia Hospital located in Wilkinsburg. She was very active in volunteering for her children’s school and church, St. Robert Bellarmine. She was involved with the Girls Scouts of Western PA while serving as a leader for over 25 years and then serving on the Catholic Committee on Scouting for more than 40 years. Marjorie also volunteered for many years at St. Peter’s Child Development Center working with special needs children. She volunteered for the East Allegheny Meals-On-Wheels well into her nineties.

Stefina Bernice Ann (Kozek) Ogrodnik Garcia, of North Versailles, passed away in God’s arms at the age of 95, on June 25, 2019. Steffy was born on February 23rd, 1924, in East Pittsburgh, PA. She was a blessing to her mother, Josephine Kellar Kozek, her father, Anton Kozek, her two sisters, Mary (née Kozek) Novotny and Helen, and her brother Edward. She cherished her childhood with her loving family, and it developed into the most important legacy she would leave behind. Her first marriage to Walter Ogrodnik and second marriage to Joseph Garcia, exemplified love everlasting through family bonds. They made memories in East Pittsburgh, East McKeesport and ultimately, North Versailles, each place having value simply because they were together. Later in life, Steffy moved into the Redstone Highlands community, where she continued to enjoy the company of her family and friends for the remainder of her days.

A member of Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church in Clairton, Irene served as a nun for more than 30 years with the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate of Sloatsburg, NY, earning her Ph.D. from Fordham University. She taught all over and outside of the United States at various schools and institutions before taking a job with the Byzantine Diocese of Cleveland, then retiring back home to the area. She was a banquet hostess employed by the Palace Inn Restaurant for many years. Betty was also a graduate of McKeesport High School, Class of 1949. Betty was always an active member of her church, McKeesport Presbyterian and Immanuel United Presbyterian. She was a loving animal advocate and rescue supporter who very much loved her dogs, Daisy and Pearlie. Betty loved to cross-stitch, cultivate flowers and work puzzles in her spare time. Those she leaves behind will most remember her for her love of God and family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, neighbor, friend and wife and will be truly missed by all. She had owned and operated two different businesses – Chili’s Place in Monongahela, and MMM Goodies – Homemade Baked goods. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, making crafts, and was an AVID Longaberger Basket collector. She also worked for decades as a cook at Falk School at the University of Pittsburgh. She loved cooking for the children and repeatedly told stories about them and became very close with many of the families. Betty taught her family, not only the love for Kennywood Park, where her grandfather used to run the pony track, but also the love of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Carolyn “Carol” (Lenhart) Weiss, age 87, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Redstone Highlands in North Huntingdon. She was born October 10, 1931 in Circleville, North Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late J. Rush and Ruby (Davidson) Lenhart. Carolyn graduated from North Huntingdon High School class of 1949, attended Burroughs Business School and worked for the National Supply company in Pittsburgh. She was the organist for the former Bethel United Presbyterian Church and a Sunday school teacher. Carolyn received a B.A. from Muskingum College and taught for 17 years in the Gateway School District. She did graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh, Penn State and the University of Indiana of Pennsylvania. She was a member of Hannastown Golf Club, Greensburg Garden Club, the National Retired Teachers Association, the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, the U.S. Golf Association, and a former volunteer at the Redstone Highlands.

He was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township and the Jaycees. He received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Polytechnic of Krakow and served in the US Army Reserves. Alfred enjoyed golf, especially at the Youghiogheny Country Club where he was a member and Butler's Golf Course where he was a Ranger. He achieved a "Hole in One" at Clipper Shipyard Golf Course on Hilton Head Island, Hole # 4 on February 27, 1997. He was also a USGA Golf Course Rater. Alfred was very proud of his Polish heritage. His favorite way to share his heritage and love of having a good time with friends and family was to share a toast of "Sto Lat ! " which means to enjoy good life, good health, and 100 years of happiness.

David P. Adams, 68, of Murrysville, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 3, 2019, with his family by his side.
Born March 17, 1951, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Skurnick) Adams. Dave was a member of the last class of Westinghouse Memorial High School, and a graduate of Point Park University. He worked for many years for Carclo Technical Plastics in Export and Latrobe, and as a professional photographer for newspapers, other publications, schools, and organizations.
He was a former member and past president of Murrysville Lions Club, and an avid supporter of Franklin Regional Marching Band. He also was a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan and a longtime member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Export. Most important to Dave was his family, and he was a loving father and grandfather.

Michael J. Uhren, 92, of West Mifflin passed away into the arms of the Lord our God on May 31, 2018. Mike was born October 18, 1926 in Duquesne, PA to George and Elisabeth Uhren.
Mike served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. When he came home he was a mill worker, house builder and butcher before becoming a mailman, which he did for over 40 years. More importantly, when he came home, he went to Kennywood one day and freeloaded some French Fries from a gorgeous woman from Homestead named Helen Bakota. They would spend the next 70 years virtually inseparable. Mike is survived by his wife Helen (Bakota) of West Mifflin, son Greg Uhrlen (Kara) of South Fayette and granddaughters Kayla and Juliana Uhrlen of South Fayette. Mike was fearless and absolutely adored his granddaughters Kayla and Juliana. They were his pride and joy!
