Patricia M. (Marsula) Geyer, age 84, of Pitcairn, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018. She was born October 17, 1933 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John Matthew and Bernice Catherine (Barnes) Marsula. She was a member of All Souls Episcopal Church in North Versailles. Before retiring, she worked as a secretary and receptionist at Union Switch & Signal, Rockwell, and the University of Pittsburgh. She was a proud member of the Eastern Star, Amaranth, Fireman’s and Engineer’s Lady Auxiliary, Dames of Malta, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 47 years Lawrence Geyer; brother Jack Marsula; and sister Bernice Katherine Lasher. She is survived by her son Lawrence (Susan) Geyer Jr. of Chalfant; and granddaughter Elizabeth Geyer.

Vilma O. (Urda) Noonan, age 95, of North Versailles, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018. She was born February 22, 1923 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Kaminca) Urda. She was a past member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Pittsburgh before it closed, and worked in the factory of Switch and Signal before retiring. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ray Noonan; brothers Ambrose and George Urda; and sister Irene Dursky. She is survived by her brother Elmer (Francis) Urda of Arizona; sister Dorothy DePaulo from East McKeesport; and her loving nieces.

Andrew Kovall, 89, of North Versailles, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, scholar, and friend. Andrew was born April 15, 1928 in Linn, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his parents Susanna and John Kovall, and his siblings John, Andrew, Michael, Paul, George, Pete, and Susanna. He devoted his life to public service. Andrew joined the Army in 1946 and spent much of his six years of active duty service in Asmara, Eritrea in East Africa, a place he held near to his heart until his last days, even taking a trip back in 1995. After his time in the Army, he joined the Navy Reserves, serving 22 more years to his country. Andrew worked for the state of Pennsylvania as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for 30 years in Pittsburgh and McKeesport. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW and served as an usher at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Andrew considered himself a renaissance man who enjoyed reading, tailoring, painting, tinkering, and especially gardening. He challenged his mind throughout his lifetime, learning new languages, taking college courses in his retirement, and doing the daily crossword in red pen. He had a great love of music that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Never having met a stranger, Andrew loved conversing with everyone around him. He most loved spending time with his family. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia; daughter Carolyn (Robert) Brown; son Robert (Sandra) Kovall; granddaughter Chelsea (Tommy); grandsons Evan, Michael, Matthew, and Mitchell; great-granddaughter Grace; and many nieces and nephews.

Gerald T. Zambanini, 67, of North Huntingdon, died Friday March 30, 2018. He was born December 26, 1950 in Springdale, a son of the late Abraham and Renee Zambanini and step son of the late Elsie Zambanini. Gerald was a graduate of McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing and continued on to their anesthesia school and was certified as a CRNA. He also received a bachelor’s degree in education from California University. He was a retired nurse anesthetist for UPMC McKeesport Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janet E. (George) Zambanini and a son Christopher Komyanik of Arlington VA.

Regis Daniel Walton, age 86, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at home. He was born December 13, 1931 in Braddock, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Walton. He was a long time member of Greater Works Outreach, Monroeville. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict stationed at Fort Knox and went on to spend the next 28 years managing a number of bowling businesses including Norwin Lanes, North Versailles Bowling, and Bowling City, Mt. Lebanon. Most recently, until his retirement in December, he was in sales for Toona Auto Parts in North Huntingdon. He was an accomplished bowler, enjoyed golf and loved his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son-in-law Jim Snyder; brothers Joe, Bob and Jack Walton; and a sister Audrey Yates. He is survived by his wife of over 66 years Joan (Ridgeway) Walton; his children Daniel (Donna) Walton of Monroeville, Diane Snyder of Wexford, David (Becky) Walton of Monroeville and Dennis (Bonnie) Walton of Ford City; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

William Francis Denney, age 101, of North Huntingdon, formerly of New Jersey, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018. He was born August 15, 1916, in Orange, New Jersey, a son of the late Daniel and Matilda Denney. He retired after 32 years as a production manager at the Newark News and was a former member of St. Joseph Church in West Orange, and a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran of WWII. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lorene (Rutledge) Denney; and brothers Daniel and James Denney. He is survived by his children William F. (Maggie) Denney Jr. of North Huntingdon and Robert D. (Kathleen) Denney of Boonton, NJ; grandchildren Lauren and Collin Denney; and sister a Helen Knight of Lancaster. A funeral service and interment will take place in New Jersey.

She was a former longtime employee of Monsour Hospital and also worked at Redstone Highlands, North Huntingdon. She is survived by her sons Ralph Hensell and his wife Adrian of Manor, James Hensell of Adamsburg, and Gregory Hensell and his wife Susan of Manor; her grandchildren Ralph Hensell, Jaime (Brian) Evans, Matthew (Amy) Hertzog, Jonathan Hensell, Rachel (David) Eckberg, Michael (Chrisato) Hensell, Jacob (Ashley) Hensell, and Jeffrey Hensell; her great grandchildren Ethan Hensell, Kailyn Evans, Bryce Hensell, Alexis Evans, Blake and Grant Hertzog, Kartar and Nikki Hensell, Zack Eckberg, Lucas Hensell, and what she was anxiously waiting for, her eleventh great grandchild Evan Hensell on the way. Jim was a retired corrections officer at the State Correctional Institution, Greene County, and a veteran of the Army National Guard during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a longtime active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Larimer, a charter member of Larimer Volunteer Fire Department and longtime bartender at the Larimer Fireman’s Club. He is survived by his wife of nearly seventy one years Anna Mae (Wright) Malt; his children Robert J. “Zeke” Malt and his wife Amy of Larimer, Bruce E. He is survived by his daughters Paula (Michael) Giran of North Huntingdon and Brandi Wolfram of Irwin; granddaughter Ciara Giran; sisters Susie (Robert) Golier of Pittsburgh, and Barbara (Alvin) McElfresh and Victoria (Dick) Muckinhaupt both of Venice, Florida; his very special aunt Lois Meisel, also of Venice, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
