Betty J. (Davis) Serro, age 88, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017. She was born September 12, 1929 in Duquesne, a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Atterbury) Davis. She lovingly supported her husband’s ministries for numerous Assembly of God Churches including the Assembly of God Church in Bradenville for over 20 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years Rev. Richard J. Serro; sister Florence Whitmore; and brother Thomas Davis. She is survived by her daughters Bridget (Rev. Cletus III) Hull of Saltsburg and Rebecca (Eric) Davis of Greensburg; grandchildren Marcie (Michael) Carbonara, Melissa (Jeff) Davis, Amanda (George) Polombo and Kathryn Brown; and great grandchildren Samantha (Darius) Henry, Justin (Lindsay) Carbonara, Gabriel Carbonara, Cameron Davis, Colin Davis, Giovanni Palombo and Marco Palombo.

Stoll of Florida. Eric was a graduate of Norwin High School Class of 1986, an employee of Giant Eagle, North Huntingdon for 26 years, and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin. In addition to his parents he is survived by his brothers and sister Richard (Denise) Stoll Jr. of Greensburg, David (Deborah) Stoll of Ligonier, Joseph (Bonnie) Stoll of Hempfield Township, and Diane Stoll of North Huntingdon, also aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews.

August W. “Gus” Pastor, 73, of North Irwin, died suddenly Saturday December 2, 2017 while hunting in Avella. He was born November 14, 1944 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Frank and Goldie L. (Burkhart) Pastor. Gus retired as owner of RTP Machine and Manufacturing and was a former machinist for Westinghouse Airbrake Co., Wilmerding. He was an Army veteran and an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was a member of North Irwin Fireman’s Club and liked to watch Judge Judy and the Price is Right. He loved driving his Jaguar and riding his Harley Davidson. He is the beloved husband of 28 years of Tracy (Payne) Pastor; loving father of Ronald J. Rodgers (Christine Christopherson) of CA, Colleen (Tom) Cimino of Houston, Cathleen (Jay) Siefert of Greensburg, and Bill Pastor of GA; loving grandfather of ten grandchildren; cherished brother of Frank (Arlene) Pastor of Burgettstown; son in law of John and Mary Lou Payne of North Huntingdon; brother in law of Sherry Payne (Bob) DiCristofaro, John (Linda Pavlik) Payne, and Jody Payne (Raun) Churchfield all of North Huntingdon; also many nieces and nephews.

She was born January 24, 1932 in North Irwin, a daughter of the late John C. and Margaret (Wade) Campbell II. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert L. Baker, a sister Peggy Ann Campbell and a brother John C. Campbell III. Betty was a faithful member for over 50 years of the First Presbyterian Church, Irwin. She had worked at the G. C. Murphy company in her younger years but greatly enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Betty is survived by her children Denise (Tom) Shipley of Sewickley, Diane (Don) Menzies of Beaver Falls, and Greg (Peg) Baker of Gouldsboro; grandchildren Heather, Brad, Bethany, Leanne, Jeffery, Aaron, Tony, Megan; 14 great grandchildren; siblings Sally Clark of North Huntingdon, Cordelia Salsi of Jeannette, and Janice Oliver of TN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a founding member of All Souls Episcopal Church, North Versailles, a 60 year member of Shidle Lodge No. 601 Free and Accepted Masons, Irwin, the Bromas Club, and Syria Temple. He loved his family and enjoyed visiting his daughter and granddaughters in Texas. Surviving are his daughters Deborah E. (Richard) Silcox of Texas, Cheryl Alagich of North Huntingdon, and Barbara L. (John) McIntyre of North Irwin; granddaughters Danielle Blair (fiancé Billy), Nicole (John) Webb, Melissa (Ed) Waible, Amber Alagich, Ashlee (Dan) Pelczar, and Whiney (Tyler) Briggs; and great grandchildren Ty, Kassidy, Harleigh, and Claire.

Paul was a retired employee of Westinghouse Energy Center, Monroeville and a member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior, North Huntingdon. He was a past master of Shidle Lodge No. 601, Free and Accepted Masons, Irwin, and a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh, and Syria Temple. Surviving are his daughter Paula (Ed) Washburn of Delmont and son in law Tom Johnson of North Huntingdon; five grandchildren Aaron (Kellie Person) Washburn, Ashley (Adam Teslevich) Washburn, Kelly (Mike) Buscemi, Melissa (Dave) Cantalupo, and Jennifer (Steve) Schambura; and nine great grandchildren J.T. Dale R. Matthews, age 69, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017. He was born December 29, 1947, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late David E. and Leola “Marie” Matthews. He was a long-time member of the Norwin Alliance Church in North Huntingdon. He worked as a master stater winder at Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh for over 21 years before going onto work at Curtis Wright in Cheswick for the next 18 years before retiring. He was a member of the Pitcairn and Ligonier Guns Clubs, the church dart league, and the Westinghouse Bowling Team. He coached softball for PAL and loved hunting and fishing, as well as watching Penn State Football and the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers. He is survived by his wife of over 48 years Denise “De” (Thompson) Matthews, daughters Dayna Matthews Ceresa and Dianna Matthews both of Pitcairn; Susan Ashley Baden and Sara Jane Matz who he considered grandchildren; brothers David “Joel” (Joann) Matthews of Ligonier and Daniel “Danny” (Marlene) Matthews of Level Green; and his two dogs Turner and Walle.

Robert Ross Mowry, 91, of Irwin, died Sunday October 15, 2017. He was born November 9, 1925 in Irwin, a son of the late Glenn and Grace (Bell) Mowry. He was a retired general foreman for Westinghouse Airbrake Co., Wilmerding, and a member of American Legion Post 359 and L.O.O.M., Lodge 236, both of Irwin. Bob was a Navy veteran of WWII and was recently recognized by the Tribune Review for being one of the last remaining survivors of an explosion on the USS Turner off the coast of New Jersey that killed 136 sailors in January of 1944. The cause of the explosion was never solved. He is survived by his wife Anne S. (Pertzog) Mowry; his children Bea (Tom) Airgood of Penn Hills, Robert R. (Jerilyn) Mowry of Kittanning, and Pam (Don) Wise of CA; grandchildren Robbie, Steve, Nikki, Matthew S. Mowry, Christina, Jennifer, and Chris; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers Gene Mowry of Plum and Sam Gibson of NC; also nieces and nephews.
