Dr. John H. Lemmon, 67, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Hospice Care Center in Bolivia, NC following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He grew up in a Pittsburgh, PA, graduating from Penn Hills High School and Grove City College. He went on to receive a Masters in Secondary Education from Duquesne University, an MSW from the University of Pittsburgh and a PhD in Social Work from the University of Maryland. Dr. Lemmon began his long career in social work as a juvenile probation officer for the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

He was born July 12, 1950 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Anthony and Daisy (Ivanovic) Bugajski. He received his master’s degree from Duquesne University and retired as a commercial lending officer for Key Bank. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin, and was a member of Shaner Sportsmen’s Club. He was a life member of the NRA and an avid outdoorsman.

Joseph Pirschl, age 89, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016, at home. He was born March 30, 1927 in McKees Rocks, a son of the late Joseph and Diana (Calcey) Pirschl. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and went on to be co-founder of the Serro Travel Trailer Company in 1956 along with his father in law, John Serro. Due to his efforts, the Scotty brand of camping trailers became an icon in the RV industry. Two of the original models are currently in the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart, IN.

He was a big fan of the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates, and he had coached a softball team in the Regent Square area. He loved comic book and sports card collecting, and was at the flea markets at Greater Valley, Olympia and East Land.
