Vivien Gail Andrascik, 73, of Greenock, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at home. She was born February 8, 1946 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Arnold and Vera Gail (Lytle) Backstrom. Vivien worked as a regional business director for a large area healthcare company for 12 area nursing homes and was a member of St. Patrick Church in Christy Park. She was dedicated to her work and the community she served and took great pride in providing for her family, her grandchildren and extended family. She loved trips to Disney, The Meadows, The Rivers, Atlantic City and Las Vegas. During her long sickness her family is grateful for all the time that was spent together.

Frank Eugene Salka, Sr.,  86, of Bunola, passed away at home on Thursday, November 14, 2019. He was born March 9, 1933 in Bunola and was the son of the late John F. and Sophie M. (Fetchen) Salka. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Frank loved hunting at his cabin in Elk County and also enjoyed gardening, flea markets, collecting priceless treasures, and fixing anything. He loved to write songs and play his Guitar.

She taught school at William Penn, Mount Vernon, Greenock and Central Elementary Schools in the Elizabeth Forward School District.

James B. McLaughlin,  101, a resident of The Palms at O'Neil, formerly of Boston, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019. He was born August 25, 1918 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Bernard  and Isabel (O'Rourke) McLaughlin of Christy Park. 

He was the  husband of  the late Betty Louise (Kiser) McLaughlin who passed away November 22, 2002. James retired from the former US Steel National Tube Works in 1980 after 43 years of service and was a member of Versailles AARP.

He was a US Army WWII Veteran. He served in the 60th Medical Detachment and for his service he received the American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

He was the husband of the late Charlotte Mae (Pryor) Rusteikas who passed away March 18, 2012. Edward was a member of Dormition of the Holy Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, McKeesport, and was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired as a warehouseman in 1993 from Ames Department Stores, Inc. (formerly, G. C. Murphy Co.), Christy Park (McKeesport, PA).

Arthur was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township. He retired from Marmon Keystone in 1993 and was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He loved spending time with his family, and sitting on his deck reading his Kindle. He was a life-long avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved to golf with his brothers.
