Gary Von Brunazzi, 60, of Elizabeth Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, January 13, 2019. Gary was born in McKeesport, on January 10, 1959. He was the son of the late Emil Brunazzi, Jr., and Elizabeth "Betty" Brunazzi. Gary graduated from Elizabeth-Forward High School in 1977. While in school, he worked part-time for Howell Craft, Inc. in Elizabeth Township. He loved classic rock music, classic cars and trains. He attended many live concerts with his sister Barb and enjoyed seeing artist such as Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, and Korn, for which his nephew, Ray Luzier is the drummer, to name a few. His favorite song was "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. He also enjoyed riding down the Monongahela river in his pontoon boat and train rides in Strasburg. Gary had a passion for muscle cars and extensive knowledge of automobile mechanics. Watching the Nascar races on TV was a weekly event for Gary. He was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Elizabeth Township.

Susan K. Merriman, 67, of Rochester, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Monday, January  7, 2019. She was born September 12, 1951 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late George W. and Alma (Lewis) Merriman. Susan held an administrative position at the University of Pittsburgh. She was also proprietor of Merriman Trading Co. She is survived by her brothers, George W. Merriman, III, of Brooklyn, NY, Thomas L. (Constance) Merriman of Greenock and Charles "Jeff" (Colleen) Merriman of Munhall, and nieces and nephews.

Gertrude Elizabeth Lieberum,  91, of McKeesport, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019. She was born April 28, 1927 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Albert  and Angela  (Schibik) Thomas.  She was the wife of the late Arthur Mark Lieberum who died January 14, 2000. Gertrude was a member of the former  St. John Lutheran Church in McKeesport. She served on church council, taught vacation bible school and also taught Sunday School for 31 years, leading children to Christ. She enjoyed gospel music, reading, and loved to do for others.

William "Bill" Gardner Phillips, 90, of McKeesport passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019. He was born April 12, 1928 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Robert Taylor and Thelma Edith (Ferguson) Phillips. Bill was a member of Park Baptist Church and was retired from the former US Steel Duquesne Works. He was a member of the EBA Club. He is survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Richard Phillips and sisters, Mary Lou Lopretto and Helen Kalo. There is no visitation. She was retired from the former Fashion Bug in Olympia Shopping Center. She is survived by her husband, Frederick "Fred" Ralph Shiffler, sons, Todd Frederick (Rene Grace) Shiffler of Frederick, MD., and Shawn Michael (Fiancée, Tara Michele Geissler) Shiffler of Elizabeth Township, brother, Eric Giacobello of Versailles, grandchildren, Logan Michael Shiffler, Ian Joseph Shiffler and Kennedy Grace Shiffler, nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends. She loved to cook and bake and was a great 10 pin bowler.  She was an avid card player, enjoying poker and pinochle. She also enjoyed Bingo and Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey.

James Herrington "Jim"  Ramsey, Jr., 78, of Boston, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018.  He was born September 8, 1940 in Braddock and was the son of the late James Herrington Ramsey Sr. and Virginia Appell Ramsey. Jim was a graduate of PIA and loved planes, going for walks at Mingo Creek Park and small game hunting with his brother, Duke.   He worked for the former Mackintosh Hemphill Company for many years and would later retire from the produce department at  Giant Eagle at the Homestead Waterfront. Jim was an avid shooter and a proud NRA Benefactor and a member of the Clairton Sportsman Club. He was also an assistant scout master with boy scout troop 99, a former Elder in The Buena Vista Presbyterian Church, the first assistant Chief of the former Boston Vol. Fire Co, as well as fire police for Elizabeth Township,  and a life member of the Greenock Vol. Fire Co.

(Fritz) Stinson who passed away December 31, 1998. He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and the Holy Name Society there. He was also a member of White Oak American Legion Post 701. Joseph was a US Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. He was retired from US Steel Clairton Works. He is survived by his daughters, JoAnn (Gary Traczynski) Stinson of McKeesport, Monica (Rob Weimer of White Oak) Kushner of Port Vue, Susan (Robert) Rajcsok of White Oak and Colleen (Gerard) Whitney of North Huntingdon, grandchildren, Joseph Stinson, Katie (Conny) Molander, Alex Rajcsok, Kevin (Nicole Elias) Kushner, Shannon Mosqueda, Rachel Rajcsok, Sara Stinson, and Shain Mosqueda, great-grandchildren, Jayce, Caleb, Sophia, and Owen, sister, Mary Schmidt of Level Green, and nieces and nephews.

They were married for 64 years. Sam was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the VFW in Mount Pleasant. He was also a 50 year member of the Mount Pleasant Vol. Fire Department where he enjoyed working fish fry's and the fireman's fair and was formerly the Assistant Fire Chief. Sam was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was proprietor of the former Sammy's Pizza and The Dari Bar in Mount Pleasant.
