(Moxley) Case.  Bob worked for many years for PennDot and retired in 2017.  He loved hot rods, Harley Davidson motorcycles, was a great car body man and recently built a garage at his home. He loved his family and his dogs, Elvis and Roxy, and always made sure they knew it.

Mark J. Julian, age 87 of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.  Born August 12, 1933 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Attilio and Adeline (Lancianese) Julian.  A self-employed barber, Mark also worked as a fireman for the City of Clairton and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church, an avid golfer, and a big supporter of Clairton Athletics.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lillian "Kathleen" (Gorgey) Julian, who passed away March 13, 2011 and his late siblings: James, Joseph, Peter, John, and Marie Julian, Concerina Bonafortuna, Viola Contini and Dorothy and Frances Russo. Mark is survived by his children Marc (Susan) Julian of Upper St. Clair and Sharon (D.J.) Julian-Milas of Pleasant Hills; his grandchildren Benjamin and Adeline Milas and Brandon and Leo Julian; his siblings Valentino Julian of Seminole, FL, Anthony Julian of Pleasant Hills, and Angelina DiPietro of Gresham, OR; and many nieces and nephews.

Veila retired from the former G.C. Murphy Company, where she was a floor supervisor. After retirement, she sold newspapers on the corner of 5th Ave. and Sinclair St. Veila loved meeting and greeting the folks of McKeesport. Velia graduated High School class of 1944, in Moore, TX as the Salutatorian. She will always be remembered for her kindness and love of family.

Marietta (Mary) Norelli, 100, of Glassport died Wednesday December 30, 2020. Mary was born February 9, 1920 in Frasso Telesino, Province of Benevento, Italy.  She moved to America in the 1950s and was very proud to become a naturalized U.S. citizen with the right to vote! Mary valued family above all things and was happiest in her home where she loved to cook and entertain, especially for Christmas and Easter.  In the spring and summer months she had the most beautiful garden. She grew all of her own vegetables, and of course grapes for her wine.  She loved fiercely and will be missed by many. Mary is the daughter of the late Augustino and Maria Josepha Norelli Cecere. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Domenico (Dom) Norelli. She is survived by her children Angelo (Peg) Norelli, Mary Louise (Ken) Feterik of Glassport, and Frank (Andrea) Norelli of Elizabeth; granddaughters Angela (Ed) Hart of Port Vue, Jennifer (Dennis) Burke of Glassport, Sara (Keith) Ressler of Pittsburgh, and Amanda (Andrew) Feterik of New York, N.Y.; great-grandchildren Eddie Hart, Kassady and Mackenzie Burke, Angelo (A.J.) Rachel was the manager of Housing Opportunities, Inc., a democratic committee woman in the 7th ward, was associated with Vienna Bakery, and was the matriarch of the family.

Reverend Wilbert A Wilson, 68, was born October 23, 1952, in McKeesport, PA.  The beloved son of the late Wilbert and Ella Louise (Alred) Wilson, Sr., departed this life on  December 22, 2020, at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his sisters Toni Opong, Rhonda Legget, and Kimberly Wilson.

Woody, as he was affectionately known, graduated from McKeesport High School and attended Chaney State University. He then enlisted into the United States Navy. Later, Woody graduated from Family Bible School, Harty Bible School, and attended The Bethlehem Baptist Church Bible Institute. He retired from the VA in Aspinwall (HJHines) where he served not only the men but was a member of the Honor Guard and a Union Steward as well.

Rev. Woody besides being the cook, gardener, and handyman that never said NO; was also an avid bowler with a high game of 279, one strike away from a perfect game. He was a devoted member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he was ordained Reverend and became an Associate Minister. He served in the choir and loved being the Ministry Leader of the Men’s Group.

Rosemary worked many places throughout her life, including McKeesport Hospital, Pool City, and as a special needs bus monitor for South Allegheny School District (PA Coach Lines). She was a member of the Port Vue United Methodist Church. Rosemary loved being a softball mom aka Mrs. B to so many. Rosemary was a 1965 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and earned an Associates Degree from the New York Institute of Photography. She continued showing her passion by creating memories through many photo albums which she shared with family and friends. Rosemary enjoyed family vacations to Deep Creek, MD and Myrtle Beach, SC. Her greatest gift in life was the love and devotion she showed to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She enjoyed spending time with her faithful kitten companions, Juju and Lemieux.  Carol was an avid reader, loyal Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan, and enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Judge Judy. 

She was extremely caring, supporting numerous charities and individuals who were experiencing life’s challenges.

Age 103, of Lincoln Place, passed away on December 28, 2020 at UPMC Mercy. Born in McKees Rocks on October 28, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Adalbert and Leopoldina (Vavrick) Jozefczyk. She was a retired clerk at Kaufmann’s-Downtown, was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Hedwig Church, and was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sigmund Kruszka and her second husband, Casmer Janus. She was the step mom of Alan (Linda) Janus of Bethel Park and the late Robert Kruse; grandmother of Jessica Janus; and sister of Eleanor Sweterlitsch of Moon Twp. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, where a blessing service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church with the Rev. Elizabeth enjoyed attending her quilting group at Beulah Park Church and the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Corpus Christi. She was a community ambassador for the Center for Healthy Aging at the University of Pittsburgh. Elizabeth was incredibly proud of her Lithuanian heritage. Many will remember the stories she shared about how thrilled she was to experience a hot air balloon ride on her 70th birthday. Elizabeth had a passion for ice skating, beginning when she was young skating at Duquesne Gardens and continuing when she was older at South Park with her husband, Charles.

Donald Bruce Taylor, 90, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at his home.  He was born May 28, 1930 in Jeannette, a son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Nesbitt) Taylor.  Prior to his retirement, Don was an inventory controller for FEMCO/Gulton Fabricating and later was the owner and operator of Lee's Bar  in Irwin.  He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War Era, was an avid outdoorsman and Pittsburgh Steeler's fan and enjoyed working on vintage cars.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Taylor; granddaughter, Ashley;  grandson, Grant; and sisters, Leatta DeZorzi and Jean Davis.  He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Leona (Bohince) Taylor; sons, Donald E. Taylor and his wife, Cindy, Keith Taylor and his wife, Suzanne; daughter, Pam Nichols and her husband, William; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  Services are private.  Arrangements were made by the James W. This year was a very difficult one for everyone. At Tube City Community Media, we lost one of our best correspondents due to a family emergency, while another had to give up writing for us because of her daytime work obligations. That left us unable to cover some communities with the depth they deserve, and we're sorry about that.

After graduating from West Mifflin North High School, Cynthia began her career at US Steel where she worked for a number of years.  After the closing of US Steel she devoted 30 years of service to the accounts payable department at PNC Bank, where she retired in 2015.  While maintaining her many roles, without complaint, Cynthia still found the time to double as the supervisor and seamstress for The Children of Praise Mime Ministry, a role which she immensely enjoyed.

Carnelia was raised in Clairton, PA, and attended school there.   At a young age, she was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was employed at one time for K-Mart in South Hills.

Carnelia loved doing hair and graduated from the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and earned her Beautician License. She was very successful doing hair in her home salon.  She enjoyed spending time with family and socialized at Community Life making new friends, playing games, field trips, and the meals they prepared. Carnelia loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and on any given Sunday she was cheering for them or she would be watching CNN. She was one who never minced words, she would say exactly what was on her mind.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Darrell Joseph Dole, 83, of North Huntingdon.  He died Friday, December 11, 2020, surrounded by his living family.  Darrell was born on September 16, 1937, the son of the late J. Douglass and Doris Dole.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Ann (Soltis) Dole; his three children, Kristine R. Dole-Mong and her husband, Jason, Danielle A. Baker and her husband, Paul and Matthew D. Dole and his wife, Ashley; beloved grandchildren, Caleb J. and Emma G. Dole and Emily (Nathan) Everly and Raymond Baker; as well as four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law and many wonderful nieces and nephews.  Darrell was born in New York and grew up in the Mount Lebanon area of Pittsburgh.  He graduated from Mount Lebanon High School and attended Washington and Jefferson College prior to enlisting in the US Air Force.

Darrell's career started at Bell Telephone of Pa. and spanned thru AT&T, Lucent Technologies as a data communication until his early retirement.  Then began consulting work with Hyperion and with Dante Corp. which sent him on projects throughout the US,  giving him an opportunity to see more of his beautiful homeland, the good old U.S. of A.

Darrel loved to listen to music and collected pieces from classical and oldies and much in between, his longtime favorites being Willie Nelson and John Denver.  He so enjoyed the outdoors from fly fishing the Snake River in Idaho to trap shooting at the Trafford Gun Club, and to his favorite downhill skiing.  He taught  his children how to ski and enjoy the outdoors as a family.  He was his children’s biggest fan from assisting swimming, coach and volunteering on the soccer, baseball fields and basketball courts to camping with Indian Princess Programs.  Darrell enjoyed and looked forward to “hamburger nights” at the Elks and dinner at the Ride & Hunt Club for late night drinks with dear friends.  He was a member of PISA for 40 years enjoying being a part-time ski instructor at Seven Spring Ski Resort, where he met his Ann and where they made many wonderful memories with their three children.  Services will be private and a memorial will be held at a later date.  Arrangements made by the James W. Karen Lee Polakovic, 63, formerly of West Mifflin, passed peacefully on December 9, 2020, in her sleep, from this world to the next. She was the daughter of the late Irene (Matola) and Stephen Francis Polakovic, both of whom she lovingly cared for in their home at the end of their lives. She was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, with a degree in Special Education. She made a positive impact on the many children with special needs that she taught throughout her long teaching career.  She also was a massage therapist and instructor. She loved to play the french horn and to sing alto. She was a terrific dancer. She enjoyed reading Nancy Drew books, playing scrabble and taking long walks. She adored her family, especially the children. She is survived by her sisters, Stephanie (Edward) Glazar, Laura (Derek) McNeill, Melissa (Domenic) D’Andrea, brother Mark (Bethanne) Polakovic; many nieces, Sarah, Renee, Allison, Celeste, Mallory and Liliana D’Andrea; nephews, Spencer and Trevor; great nephews, Zach Glazar and Elijah; one great niece, Audrey and many, many, many cousins. Denise Hilliary, 62, died suddenly Dec. 4, 2020 at AHN Jefferson Hospital.

Denise was affectionally known as “Niecy” to her closest friends and family. She was born in McKeesport, Pa but was raised and continued to call Clairton, Pa home until she departed. Denise was educated in the Clairton education system, graduating from Clairton HS in 1975 and capped her education by graduating from the ICM School of business shortly after. Denise spent the past 43 years working for Bank of NY Mellon as an Infrastructure Operations Analyst where she was a linchpin for the team.

Denise was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and embraced them and everyone she held close with the love and affection that they required. She is survived by her two daughters, J’Nece (Grady) Nixon, Cierra Hilliary; Two sons, Larry (Crystina) Ferguson, Emmanuel Cottrell; 6 Grandchildren (Trentin, TaNyia, Taj, Tijair, Lexington & Lennox. Sister to Jannice, Jeffery and Jamie, as well as an Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Jesse was a Computer Analyst for Armada Supply Chain Solutions. On November 26, 1983, he married Jeanette McDew and to this union, two children were birthed.

Jesse was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, playing golf and he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Jesse was loved by so many people because he was the type of man who would do anything for his family and friends. He was the rock of his family and that void can never be filled.

He owned and operated Moore and Shaver Machining, New Stanton, and prior to his retirement worked as a salesman for REM Electronic Supply Co. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed riding his bike on the Yough River Trail, and would volunteer with the YRBTC to maintain the trail. Albert was an amateur archaeologist.

John “Poe” was born on July 14, 1942 in McKeesport Hospital and grew up in the Wilson area of Clairton. He was the son of the late Leon and Theresa (Azzari) Paoletti. John was a graduate of Clairton High School “Class of 1960”, where he proudly led the Clairton Bears as their standout quarterback. His talents were not limited to the football field, as he also lettered in two additional sports. He went on to attend Dayton University where he continued playing football. After college, John married the “love of his life” Linda. They went on to share a beautiful life together, celebrating 50 years of marriage, and were blessed with three loving daughters and four grandsons whom they adored. John had a long career as a foreman at US Steel-Clairton Works, where he was well liked and respected. John retired after more than 30 years of service. He then began his 2nd career and true calling as #1 grandfather “Pap Pap”.

Emma Marie McKenzie, 79, of McKeesport, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Transitions Health Care Center, North Huntingdon.  She was born, April 10, 1941 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Richard  and Helen (Sakol) Slater.  Prior to her retirement, Emma worked for Bic Corporation in Clearwater, FL as an assembler and later worked for McDonald's in Olympia.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Edward Slater.  She is survived by her sons, John McKenzie and his wife, Jeneen, Jeff McKenzie; daughter, Angela Abbott and her husband, Harry; sister, Kathleen (Bob) Slater; grandchildren, Sean Abbott, John (Nichole) McKenzie, Matthew (Victoria) McKenzie, Zachary McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Sean, Waylon, Danica,  Easton; and Rev. Norma Jane (Keeler) Chamberlin, 86, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at William Penn Care Center, Jeannette.  She was born, January 22, 1934 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Olsen) Keeler.  Norma was a loving mom, grandma and friend.  She spent most of her life sharing her musical talent in numerous churches and touched so many hearts as she directed the church choir.  Many lives were touched by her words of wisdom and her caring way.  Mom was blessed by her loving family and her family was truly blessed by her!  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Chamberlin; and sister, Carol Ann Keeler.  She is survived by her daughters, Linda Benish and Laura Kochasic and her husband, Donald; and devoted grandma to Jacob (Diane), Julie, Josh, Emily and Evan.   Services are private.  Service was officiated by Mary Ann Milne.  Arrangements made by the James W. Ethel was employed by Stratigo's Catering of White Oak for 23 years and by the Gateway Clipper Fleet of Pittsburgh for 14 years. She was a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ, first in Friend's Cove (Bedford) and then in Duquesne. She enjoyed her many years as a member of the GFWC Women's Club of Duquesne, the Knights of Columbus Seniors, and the Duquesne Annex Seniors. She served as a past president of the Duquesne Band Parents. She loved baking and sharing the cakes, pies, and cookies she made, but nothing made her happier than yelling BINGO!

Friends and family will be received in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., 828 Richford Street, Duquesne, PA, 15110 on Thursday December 3, 2020 from 2-8 PM and on Friday December 4, 2020 from 10 until time of service at 11AM with Rev. James  Condron, in the Memorial Home. Burial will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
