Nancy J. Dunkis, 58, of Elizabeth Township, died Sunday, December 31, 2017. She was born June 14, 1959 in McKeesport and was the daughter of David G. (Shirley) Dunkis of Moon Township and the late Nancy Young Dunkis who died August 20, 2004, She was a member of St. Patrick Parish, Christy Park, and was a member and past president of the Twentieth Century Club of McKeesport and AMEN Corner. Nancy was a volunteer for Women's Place and was an usherette at PPG Arena. She served as Campaign Manager of Democratic Party Judges Kevin Sasinoski and Donald Machen. She was a graduate of Westminster College and was a Housing Development Coordinator for Allegheny County Economic Development. She was an avid Steeler and Penguin fan. In addition to her father, she is also survived by her step-brothers, Greg (Tina) Spragg of West Aliquippa and Jeff (Heather) Spragg of Oakland, CA, aunts, Mary Anne (Matt) Goodwin of Largo, FL, uncle, Michael Halleron of FL, cousins, Beth Ann Masters of Newark, DE, Jennifer Gildea of Ottsville, David Brinkos of Seminole, FL, Niki (David) Koyalcik, Keli (Eric) Spieger both of Penn Hills, and many friends.

It is with deep sadness that the family of George Michael Cherepko announces he left this earthly realm, on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at the age of 32 years. George was born in McKeesport on July 14, 1985 where he grew to love the outdoors, bon-fires, sports, and all aspects of the arts including painting, drawing, music and dancing.

George was a loving son, who will forever remain in the hearts and be remembered as a precious gift by his mother Tricia McNelis and step-father Tom Rodgers of Elizabeth Township and George J. Cherepko of McKeesport. In addition, George leaves a legacy of his precious children who he loved beyond words, Natalia, Dylan, and Colin Bargiel and their mother Amanda Bargiel of North Huntingdon, Noah Borreggine-Cherepko and his mother, Noelle Borreggine of McKees Rocks, and Makenna Lace Cherepko and her mother, Chelsea Carini of Belle Vernon.

George was a spirited and loved older brother to Damian Cherepko and sister Chelsea Cherepko of Elizabeth Township. George was the cherished grandson of Kathleen (Kathy) Allen and Toni Lipchey of McKeesport. George will also be fondly missed and loved by his Uncle, Frank (Christie) Kandcer and cousins, Rachel of Pittsburgh, Pierce, Logan and Ethan Kandcer of Elizabeth Township. George will be forever remembered by numerous additional aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Marsha R. Dubos, 80, of Elizabeth Township, died unexpectedly Monday, December 25, 2017 in Jefferson Hospital. She was born August 16, 1937 in West Brownsville and was the daughter of the late Vendel and Mary (Kassia) Reder. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's in Elizabeth Township. She is survived by her husband, Chester S. Dubos, sons, Denis (Krysandra) Dubos of Brentwood, Ronald (Marilyn) Dubos of Waynesburg, and David Dubos of Jefferson Hills, sister, Ruthann Gaylord of Squirrel Hill, grandchildren, Justin, Michael, Devin and Alexa, nieces, nephews, special friend, David North of Jefferson Hills, and her special furry friend, Oskie. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmer and Ronald Reder and sisters, Mary Reder, Grace Koches and Helen Horvath. David Charles Taylor, 69, of Rostraver, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at home. He was born June 3, 1948 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Thomas L. and Agnes Blank Taylor. David had worked for the US Postal Service and was a member of the Rostraver Sportsman's Club and the NRA. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. For his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with 1 star and device, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm and the Purple Heart Medal. She was born December 3, 1936 in Tiffin, OH, and was the daughter of the late Milo and Leola (Price) Cramer. Barbara was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenock, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Somerset, and the Eastern Star.

She was also a member and past president of Elizabeth Forward Education Association. Barbara was an Elementary School Teacher for the Elizabeth Forward School District and had taught at the Greenock and Elizabeth Elementary Schools. She is survived by her husband, Dale M. Smith, son, Bradley M. Smith of Scottsdale, AZ, daughters, Kelly L. (Jon) Kruper of Jones Mills, and Lori J. (John) Schwerzler of McMurray, grandchildren, Megan, Madison and Mackenzie, brother-in-law, Dr. Raymond B. (Mary Lynne) Smith of Longboat Key, FL, nieces and a nephew.

He was a master craftsman and headed his own construction company, Wanchick Construction, for almost 40 years. He married Sheri, his beloved wife, in 1978. He was a lifelong resident of Beaver County. She loved Needlepoint, Crocheting and Craft Shows. She also loved to travel and vacation at the beach. She worked for the former Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph A. DiFalco, sons, Joseph P. DiFalco of Monroeville and Robert (Claire) DiFalco of Murrysville. She was the loving grandmother of Erin, Domenick and Anthony. She is also survived by her cousins, Audrey Smyrnes, Ronald Cooper and Diane Smith.

Jane M. Brennan, 82, of White Oak, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017 after a brief stay in the hospital. She was born on February 24, 1935 in McKeesport to the late Paul F. Brennan and Maxine M. Brennan (Griffiths). Jane devoted her life to the field of Nursing for 40 years prior to her retirement. After graduating from McKeesport High School, she earned post-secondary degrees from the Presbyterian School of Nursing, University of Pittsburgh and the University of North Carolina. During her professional career, she served as Executive Director for various home health nursing agencies and held an executive position at the National League of Nursing. Committed to the field of public health, she taught at Duquesne University and the University of Tennessee and she testified before the Congress of the United States, advocating for proper funding for public health. “Janie” enjoyed reading, travel, and many happy times with her loving family and dear friends. She is survived by her sister Patricia Brinkos and her brother-in-law Bruce Brinkos of White Oak, PA; nephew, Myles Brinkos (Michelle) of White Oak, PA; nephew Michael Brinkos (George Hernley), of Oakland Park, FL; niece, Amy Brinkos (Dr. Andrew Nowalk) of O’Hara Township, PA. and great niece and nephews, Joshua, Megan, Max, James, and Peter.

With love and sadness, the family of Kyp L. Anderson announces his passing at the age of 71 on December 10, 2017. After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Kyp “Kiki”, passed away in Monroeville, surrounded by loved ones.  Born on New Year’s Eve, 1945, in McKeesport, Kyp was the son of the late William Ewald Anderson and Molly Kaminsky Anderson. Kyp was a graduate of Grove City College where he was politically engaged.  For 18 years, he worked as a dispatch analyst for Exxon and in subsequent years, Kyp worked for United HealthCare in claims. After retiring, Kyp was able to devote time to his passion for social equality and human rights through various advocacy organizations.  He enjoyed traveling; his beloved dog Chrissy; watching golf, the Patriots, and reality TV; and being a proud grandfather. Kyp is survived by daughter Kristin Byzek and her husband Eric; daughter Amy Bair and her husband Jeffrey; grandchildren Molly, Jacob, and Lucy; partner Michael Sprowls; sister Leslie Anderson Boynton and her husband Richard Wieczorek, niece Lisa Gottler and her husband David, niece Jennifer Phillips and her husband Jason, great-nephew Alex, and great-nieces Kaci, Emily, and Alyssa.
