Thomas John Knaus, 75, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at his home. Tom was born in McKeesport, Pa. on April 11, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Knaus and Lydia Matias Knaus and baby son, Thomas. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 54 years, Marlene Terek Knaus. He is also survived by his son, Kevin Knaus of N. Huntingdon and by his remarkable grandchildren Juliet, Samuel and Ian, of Indiana Twp. He is also survived by his younger sister, Kathy Jo of Spring City, Utah. Tom grew up in Glassport, and graduated from Glassport High School in 1965. Tom was a fine all around athlete and enjoyed all the sports teams in the area. He was an avid golfer still waiting for the elusive hole-in-one. Tom attended California State College and graduated in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in education. He also received his masters degree in 1974. Tom taught 33 years in the Duquesne School District as an Industrial Arts teacher. Tom was a veteran of the US Army Reserves, assigned to the 46H Replacement Company in Pittsburgh. He received his honorable discharge in 1976. Friends will be received from 2-7 on Tuesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will be private. Stanley Hess, 88 of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at his home. He was born December 4, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pa. ,a son of the late Albert H and Emma Ours Hess. Stanley was a graduate of Logan High School in West Virginia. Prior to his retirement, Stanley was employed as a Lab Technician by PPG and was a former security guard for Burns Security. He enjoyed old records, and spending time with his grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Long Hess, and daughter, Kathy Hess. He is survived by his two sons, Paul , Timothy (Gloria) three daughters, Deborah Shawley (Al), Mary A. Susan Margaret Jalosky (Hill), 60, passed into the arms of Jesus on Oct. 6, 2022 at her home in N. Irwin, PA.  She was born to George E. Hill and the late Franceen E. Hill on Feb. 13, 1962 in Endicott, NY.  Susan was a graduate of Owego Free Academy (1980) & Houghton University (1985).

Susan served her Lord as a member of Circleville UMC and at Norwin Nazarene Church where she was the district children’s quizzing director for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Daryl Jalosky.  In addition to her father (Betty), she is survived by her son, Jonathan Jalosky (Ellen), granddaughters Alethea & Layla, siblings Lynette Abbott (Joe), Heather Campbell (Paul), Daniel Hill (Johanna) and many loved nieces and nephews.

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Joan Sophia Yurkov, 85, of North Huntingdon, PA, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2022.  Joan was born to Martin and Sophia Yurko on November 22, 1936, in North Braddock, PA. She grew  up surrounded by many cousins and her dedicate canine companion, Snooty.  Joan was a graduate of Scott High School. After graduation, she joined Bell Telephone as a telephone operator for several years prior to marrying her loving husband, Zolton Emil Yurkov, on October 23, 1965.  Joan loved animals, especially dogs. She was an enthusiastic crafter, football fan, reader, and history buff. Above all, her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a dedicated Girl Scout leader and spent countless hours attending sports practices and games of her children and grandchildren. Joan enjoyed many adventures and often traveled the United States with her family and high school best friends. Joan was a longstanding member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Legion of Mary. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church in North Huntingdon, PA, since 1965 and sang in St. Agnes adult choir for over 30 years. Joan is survived by her two daughters, Carol Ann Spisso and Donna Marie Kolat, and her five grandchildren: Mara Spisso DeCapito (Philip), Marco Spisso, Nicholas Kolat (Natalie), Abra Spisso Podoliak (Jon), and Erin Kolat (Ray Munden). All of whom loved and cherished her deeply.

Rohal, 74, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at Forbes Regional Hospital.  She was born, April 18, 1948 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Lester and Helen (Pottinger) Alexander.  Prior to her retirement, Diane was a social worker for the City of McKeesport Welfare Office.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, trips to the Outer Banks and  spending time with her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Walter J. Kustra, 93, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 peacefully at home.  He was born June 16, 1929 in McKeesport, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Ann Kustra.  Prior to his retirement, Walter was a pattern maker for US Steel, National Tube Works and when the department closed he transferred to the carpenter shop with a total of 35 years of service.  

He was a graduate of McKeesport High School Class of '48 where he was a WPIAL All State Guard and class president.  Walter was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War and a  member of St. Agnes Parish and P.N.A. McKeesport Lodge 352.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, growing his garden and spending time at his log cabin hunting camp that he and his son built.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Macik) Kustra; brother, John Kustra; and sister, Stella Ruccio.  He is survived by his loving children, Ronald Kustra; daughters, Roberta Hoffmann and Lisa Kustra; brother, Albert Kustra; sisters, Irene Squires, Eleanor Todaro; grandchildren, Anthony and Nicole.  Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the James W. Nancy Shuber, 78, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.  She was born October 5, 1943 in Plum, a daughter of the late Morris and Minnie Machen.  Prior to her retirement, Nancy worked for Monsour Hospital and later became an administrative assistant for family practice residency at Shadyside Hospital and after retirement worked at the family business, Shuber Service.  She was a member of Herminie Methodist Church and enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas and visiting the casinos and her Thursday night Whiskey and cookies with her cousin, Jen.  Nancy was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and canine companion, Robin.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Shuber; daughter, Barbara Shuber Eiser; brother, Robert; sister, Rose "Pat" George; half-sister, Grace Seemuth; and half-brother, Alan.  She is survived by her son, Stephen Shuber and his wife, Renee; two granddaughters, Anna and Megan; and brother, Bobby Machen.  Friends will be received from 6-8  p.m. on Thursday and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the James W. Lawrence "Larry" A. Sinchar, 63, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at UPMC East.  He was born April 27, 1959, a son of the late John E. and Margaret (Jozwick) Sinchar.  Larry retired in 2021 after over 40 years of service as an auto body technician from Riverview Chevrolet, (formerly Tom Clark Chevrolet).  He was a graduate of Serra Catholic High School and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.  He was a social member of Hartford Heights Firemen's Club, Fairmont Hahntown Fire Dept. Social Club, Irwin Moose Lodge #236 and St. Joseph Polish Club where everyone knew him as Uncle Larry.  He was a loyal customer of Mr. Smokes where he stopped to play his numbers each day.  He never hit the big one but never lost hope.  He loved Miller Lite and his books of the year, and hated sprinkles on birthday cakes.  Over the years, he belonged to both bowling and golf leagues with the Polish National Alliance #352.  He is survived by his wife, Joanna Sinchar; step daughter, Kylie (Richard) Smith; pappy to Alexee Smith and Coleson Smith.  He is the youngest of five brothers, Ronald, Gerald (Carol), Mark, Gregory (Bernadette); numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the James W. Beverly Lee Yosko, 70, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at her home.  She was born June 26, 1952 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Robert and Norma Jean Crawford.  Prior to her retirement, Beverly was a secretary for Lico Chemical Co. and was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, McKeesport.  She was a graduate of Norwin Sr. High School and enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, photography, taking annual trips to Topsail Beach, NC and her canine companion, Joey.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Crawford and sister, Mary Jane Patterson.  She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Kenneth E. Laurie was a sales representative for UPS for 20 years and a member of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Hempfield Sr. High School Class of '84 and went onto Clarion University and received her bachelor's degree in communications. She enjoyed scrapbooking, walking her dog, Zala, taking trips to the beach and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Gregg. She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick A. Caden James Casper, 21, of North Huntingdon, passed away suddenly on September 17, 2022 at Pennsylvania State University.  He was born on May 23, 2001, the cherished son of Marty and Leanne (Wukich) Casper.  He was the loving brother of Colton, Reagan, and Tatum Casper.  Caden was a 2020 graduate of Norwin High School and a junior at Penn State majoring in Health Policy and Administration.  He was kind, loving, and compassionate, and more often than not, put other's feelings and happiness above his own.  He had a huge heart and shared his love freely.  He was a loyal friend, creating many lifelong bonds.  He made a lasting impression on everyone he met as you could not meet a better person or kinder soul.  Caden spent his summer days working hard for Warrior Concrete alongside his father and the "hogs" and relaxing at his pool.  He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and watching movies - especially Star Wars.  He liked to have fun, college, tailgating at Beaver Stadium, and watching all of the Pittsburgh sports teams.  Most of all, Caden loved spending time with his family, pets, and friends.  Caden is survived by his loving family:  great grandmother, Lillian Wukich, grandparents, Donald and Adrian Wukich and Martin and Christina Casper, aunts and uncles, Jennifer and Andy Siegel, Brad and Lindsey Wukich, Matt and Heather Casper, cousins, James, Alek, and Ana Siegel, Marley Wukich, Logan, Morgan, and Tristan Casper, numerous great aunts and uncles, and many loyal friends.  In Caden's memory, perform a random act of kindness or tell someone special how much they mean to you.  Memorial contributions can be made in Caden's name to a cause that is close to your heart.  Friends will be received from 1-8  p.m. on Thursday at the James W.
