Evelyn L. (Swank) Pennington departed this world to meet her Heavenly Father on March 5, 2021, after 86 years. She was born December 1, 1934 to the late Daniel and Stella (Painter) Swank. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Pennington, in 2013; son, Bruce Pennington; grandson, D. “Bud” Flinner; and all of her many siblings- Helen Trent, Ethel Cochran, Donna Kelley, and Daniel Swank. She leaves behind three children- Debbie (Stan) Flinner, Darlene Pennington, and Dave Pennington; as well as granddaughter Nikki Flinner, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at both Golden Heights Personal Care Home and Transitions Health Care, as well as her hospice team for the kindness and compassion they showed Evelyn in her final days. At her request, there will be no public viewing; and a private interment will be held. Robert M. Morris, 90, of North Huntingdon, passed peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021.
Bob is deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Agnes (Minnaji) Morris, daughter Susan M. Morris and husband William H. Maruca, two cherished grandchildren Julia and Jack Maruca of Wexford, and son Greg Morris of Irwin.
Bob was born July 21, 1930 in Youngwood to the late John William and Stella May (Fox) Morris. Bob served in Company B, 179th Infantry Regiment of the US Army during the Korean Conflict, most notably the summer of 1953 campaign. He was a tractor trailer driver and very proud of his safe driving record with B&P Motor Freight and United Parcel Service. Bob was active with Teamsters Local 30 and served on various committees.

Catherine 'Kay" Sterner, age 88 of North Huntingdon died February 27, 2021 at Excela Heath Westmoreland Hospital. She was born June 6, 1932 in Duquesne, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Curan Flanagen. Prior to her retirement, Kay was employed as a banquet waitress by the Marriott Hotel in Monroeville. She loved to travel to Florida, enjoyed ballroom dancing and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

William Karako, 88, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at The Grove, North Huntingdon. He was born February 12, 1933 in Duquesne, a son of the late Joseph and Rebecca Bayzat Karako. Prior to his retirement, Bill was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and later drove bus for Norwin School District. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Julius and Eugene Karako. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Medulic Karako; son, Steven (Charlotte) Karako; daughter, Karen (Kenneth) Watson; grandchildren, Quentin, Kristopher, Becky, Mandy; and great-grandchildren, Luna and Oren. Hazel B. Proctor, 92, of Irwin, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Transitions Healthcare, North Huntingdon. She was born November 15, 1928 in Herminie, a daughter of the late Russell and Mary (Rosenstill) Mellinger. Hazel was a member of the Norwin Church of the Nazarene. She was a loving mother who took care of her family and home and loved to watch football. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Proctor; brothers, Art and Howard Mellinger; sisters, Naomi Clutter, Ethel Kaufman and Darlene Kunkle. Harry (Cokie) Couchenour, 90, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Harry was born December 5, 1930 in Youngwood, PA, son of the late Harry and Ethel Couchenour. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn Moore Couchenour in 2016 and a sister, Janet Leighty. He is survived by two daughters, Lynn Keegan and husband Pat of Unity Township, and Lauren Condon of Latrobe; a grandson, Ian Condon (Esther), of Charleston SC; Ian's father Harry Condon, and a sister, Linda Price (Dennis).
Harry had a 40+ year career working for Westinghouse, retiring from the Waltz Mill Site. During his retirement years, he immensely enjoyed traveling in his motorhome with his wife, Marilyn. He was a longtime member of Circleville United Methodist Church. A quiet man, Harry was born to be a servant to all. He loved to work, could fix anything, loved helping others with projects and would always be there for you. Even into his 80's, once he cleared his own walkways and driveway of snow, he would do a couple neighbors' driveways, as well. He enjoyed being outside and caring for all the rhododendron and shrubs that his wife lovingly planted all around their beautiful property. Most of all, he loved his little family, and his daughters were always his pride and joy, of which he proudly told everyone.

Walter A. Trayers, 82, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born March 3, 1938 in McKeesport, a son of the late Andrew and Bernie (Dakin) Trayers. Prior to his retirement, Walt was a die maker for General Motors and a veteran of the US Army having served during Vietnam. Walt was a founding member of the Italian Brotherhood of Guffey and the American Legion. He is survived by his beloved wife Janice Davis Trayers; sons, Timothy Trayers and his wife, Jodi, Jason Trayers, Todd Trayers (Kristin) ; brother, John Patrick (Rose) Trayers; and four grandchildren, Cassie, Joseph, Amanda and Andrew one great grandchild, Rylynn.

George Miller, 70, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born December 15, 1950 in Greensburg, a son of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Grubbs) Miller. Prior to his retirement, George worked in the maintenance department for Norwin School District and was a member of United Church of Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His passion was restoring classic cars, working in his Larimer garage, spending time with his grandchildren and trips to the mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Ann Clawson. His is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janis (Livingston) Miller; son, Leonard Miller and his wife, Jaclyn; brother, William Miller; sister, Adrienne Geiger; and grandchildren, Olivia and Little Lenny.

Cleveland Peart, 90, of Wilkins Township, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at his home. He was born February 13, 1931 in Mt. Francis Charles McGuire, 61, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at his home. He was born January 6, 1960 in Plum, a son of the late Patrick and Eleanor (Giusti) McGuire.
