Born in Duquesne on February 5, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Elias & Alma (Hart) Kelley and wife of the late Robert Swineburg. She was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church, Duquesne. She is survived by children, Donna Kelley of Glassport, Jo Ellen Jordan of McKeesport and Marie (Dominic) Yeager of Glassport; 15 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren; and Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by Brothers and Sister, David Kelley, Jack Kelley, Norman Kelley and Ann Bowman. He was a retired letter carrier for the Duquesne Post Office and former parking meter reader for the City of Duquesne.  He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church. John proudly served his county in the Air Force during the Korean War and in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He is the beloved husband for 56 years to Louise A. He was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church-Duquesne, enjoyed cooking, dancing and the Steelers, played rugby and owned his own construction business. He is survived by his former wife, Beverly Smerkol; father of Daryl Hannah Kmiec of McHenry, IL and Olivia Faye Bickus of West Mifflin; brother of Tammy (late Tim) Chonko of Duquesne, Ronda (Mitchell) Brourman of Edgewood, Gregg (Lisa) Bickus of Lockport, IL, Justin (Michele) Bickus of Chicago, IL, Erin (Matthew) Stevenson of Chicago, IL and the late Joetta R. He was a retired plumber from Local #27, a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Joseph Church where he served as an usher and money counter, Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus #4210 and also a member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. He was Past President of the K of C Senior Citizens, a member of the West Mifflin Annex Senior Citizens, and volunteer and potato pancake maker for the St. Joseph Fish Fry.

Gemma P. Senay, age 88, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on August 3, 2021. Daughter of the late Anthony & Anna (Mercuri) Petrozza, she was born on September 10, 1932, in Duquesne. She was a bookkeeper for several local firms, a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church, and enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She was the wife of the late John W. “Jack” Senay who died in 1996. She is survived by children, Scott & Suzi, 3 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, but especially enjoyed spending time with her four nieces, Paulette Barry, Francine Salata, Chris “Cookie” Christopher & Betty Anne Petrozza. She was predeceased by her brothers and sister, Michael “Mickey” (late Steffie) Petrozza, Elaine (late Frank) Pych, Alfred (late Jeanne) Petrozza and Marion “Mousey” (late Carole) Petrozza. Funeral Mass was held at Holy Name Church on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, with the Rev. Nick Mastrangelo officiating. Burial followed in Holy Name Cemetery.

Joseph A. Napoli, Sr., age 91, of Palm Desert, CA, formerly of Duquesne, passed away on July 22, 2021. Born in Duquesne on July 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Angeline (Godine) Napoli. He was retired from U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works as a metalographer. He was an avid golfer and bowler and he proudly served his country in the Navy Reserves for 16 years.

He is survived by his wife Suzi Napoli of Palm Desert, CA. He is the beloved father of Capt. Joseph (Debra) Napoli Jr.-U.S. Navy Ret.-of Mechanicsburg and Yvonne (Bruce) Napoli Meeder of Harrisburg; grandfather of Katie Napoli, Christopher (Renee) Meeder and Noah A. Napoli Meeder; great grandfather of Evan Meeder; brother of Carmella Marko of Port Vue, Teresa (Frank) Palestra of Tampa, FL, and Yolanda (late Kenneth) Marcase of Elizabeth Twp and predeceased by brothers and sisters, late Frank (late Barb) Napoli, late Anthony (late Ruby) Napoli, late Nancy White, late JoAnne (late Tom) Sharkey and late Salvatore (late Angie) Napoli.

Mary Ann Michaels, age 80, of Whitehall, formerly of Duquesne, passed away on August 5, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital.  Daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Slivochka) Sabol, she was born on November 20, 1940. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church. Her family was always first. She enjoyed vacationing with her family at Virginia Beach, walking and reading, especially crime scene books. She and her husband took ballroom dancing lessons at the Knights of Columbus and she volunteered at Duquesne Catholic School and Holy Name Church when her children were students. Mary Ann was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late Dr. Joseph E. Michaels, who died on April 2, 2021. She was the mother of Brian Michaels of Washington, PA, Tyrone (Sara) Michaels of Baldwin, Allison (Jamie) Parker of Charlotte, NC, and Joseph (Heather) Michaels of Munhall; grandmother of Jaclyn McIntyre, Madeline, Ashley, Joey Jr., Noel, Starr, Barron and Xander Michaels, Tanner, Connor and Matthew Parker, Presley and Aria Michaels, Brendon and Bailee Gazdag and Raina McIntosh; sister of Michael (Annie) Sabol of Bakersfield, CA and the late Magdalene Sabol. David Kirk Barrett, age 71, passed away Thursday, July 22nd, 2021, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry W. Barrett in 2005. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy Barrett; daughters, Marie Sparrow, Angie Langford (Kevin), son, Robert Barrett, and his grand dog Doug; his mother Evelyn Barrett of White Oak, PA, brothers, Keith Barrett (Joani) of Dallas, TX, Gary Barrett of Houston, TX, Brian Barrett (Laurie) of Valencia, CA, and Robert Barrett (Mary) of Johnson City, TN, and by all his loving nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Kirk graduated in 1968 from Serra High School in White Oak, Pennsylvania. He went to Virginia Tech, and graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at WPAFB before starting a 30 year career as a manufacturer’s rep with his dad. After closing that business, he went to work for Vectren Energy, where he retired from. During his time at WPAFB, he took up skydiving and flying. This is where he met his future wife, Kathy, as he was flying the plane, and she was jumping out. Kirk was very involved with his community, enjoyed volunteering, and has made many dear friends along the way. Visitation will be held at 9:30am on Sunday August 1st, 2021 at Tobias Funeral Home- Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Richard was retired from Fisher Body-WEMR (Welding Electrical Mechanical Repair), was a coach and umpire for West Mifflin girls’ softball, coached for the West Mifflin Boy Baseball League, was a former member of the West Mifflin School Board, and a member of the Polaris Masonic Lodge #375. Married for 47 years to Ruth E. (Hvizdos) Crux, he is the father of Raymond J. (Jennifer) Crux of Rotterdam, NY, Rebekah L. Crux of West Mifflin, and Rachel B. (Michael) Ruffing of Buckhannon, WV; grandfather of Andrew Crux, Alexis Crux, Layla Chapman, and Mikey Ruffing; brother of Marjorie “Peggy” Crux of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jeanne Scholl of Myrtle Beach, SC, late Bobby Crux, late Linda Files Balint, and late Thomas Clemons.
