Donna Joanne Baker, 84, of North Huntingdon, died Friday February 19, 2021. She was born January 30, 1937 in Biddle, the tenth child of the late Peter and Mildred (Marinkovich) Maystrovich and was also preceded in death by siblings Helen Keilch, Mary Ralph, and Joseph, Mark, Sava, Anne, Bertie, and Mitzi Maystrovich. Joanne was a graduate of North Huntingdon High School class of 1954, where she was a majorette and class secretary. She retired from Elliott Co., Jeannette, and formerly worked for Cronmiller-McCormick, Pittsburgh, and Femco, Irwin. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin, and was an avid tennis, Steelers, Pitt football, and Pitt basketball fan.

Patricia E. Csorba, 74, of McKeesport, died Thursday, February 18, 2021. She was born in McKeesport March 18, 1946. She enjoyed watching birds, playing bingo, and trivia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Csorba and a brother Paul E. Sirak. Donald “Don” F. Ditter, age 85, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born May 31, 1935 in McKeesport, a son of the late Fredrick and Mildred Ditter. He was an Air Force veteran that went onto work his entire career as a welder for U.S. Steel before retiring. He had a passion for coaching NCAA midget Football and supporting his daughter’s swimming teams. He also enjoyed spending Wednesday nights watching his son and friends bowl and would never miss one of his granddaughter's softball games.

Robert N. Becker, 90, a resident of Redstone Highlands, formerly of Irwin, passed away Wednesday February 10, 2021. He was born November 2, 1930 in Irwin, the son of the late Carl N. and Anna J. (Lomicka) Becker. Bob was a graduate of Irwin High School, served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, and then graduated from Carnegie Tech where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management. He retired from Westinghouse Electric Corporation, RIDC Park West, after spending many years at the company’s East Pittsburgh location. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin. Bob was past master of Shidle Lodge No 601, F&AM, Irwin, and a member of the Bromas league. He also was a member of the Pittsburgh Syria Shrine, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Westmoreland Forest #77, and Knights Templar. He was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels for 20 years, volunteer ambulance driver for Rescue 14, and was past president of Westinghouse Fellowship. He enjoyed golf, playing cards with friends and family, particularly bridge, pinochle and poker, and very much enjoyed vacations at Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland with his family, which he attended annually for decades.

On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, Sherwood R. McEwen age 86, passed away peacefully in Fairfax, Va.
Born October 24, 1934 he spent the majority of his life in the East McKeesport/North Versailles area. He is the son of the late Raymond and Nancy McEwen. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife and high school sweetheart Rosemary McEwen. He is survived by his children Daniel McEwen of North Versailles, Scott (Colleen) McEwen of Harrison City and Beth (Tom) Pyne of Fairfax, Virginia; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and sister Nancy Ann Best of Palm Coast, Florida. Eugene J. Sunder, 96, of North Versailles, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Kane Community Living Center, McKeesport. He was born March 1, 1924 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Eugene F. and Rose A. (Grahame) Sunder and was also preceded in death by his sister Rose A. Kesterson and his brother Henry J. Sunder. Eugene was a member of Holy Spirit Praise and Fellowship Center, Wilmerding.
He was a proud Navy WWII veteran, and was a lifelong member of Hilltopers VFW Post 8430, East McKeesport. Prior to his retirement Eugene worked as a sheet metal worker for A&P Furnace Co., North Versailles.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years Allison (Peacock) Sunder, lovingly known to Eugene as “McDuff”; his daughter Jeri L. (Gary) Wenning of North Versailles, grandchildren Anthony, Alysia, Aaron, and Eric; great grandchildren Anthony, Brianna, Levi, and Chole; and nieces and nephews.

John E. Reed Jr., 70, of Irwin, died suddenly Friday January 22, 2021. He was born April 4, 1950 in Owensdale, a son of the late John E. Sr. and Minnie (Schwartz) Reed and was also preceded in death by a sister Marsha Knight. John was a retired employee of Reed Tool & Die Co. and was an Army and Navy veteran. He was a member and Elder of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church, the Irwin Sportsman’s Club, the NRA, and enjoyed spending time at the trailer in Punxsutawney where he liked to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife Karen L. (Smith) Reed; his children Nicole A. (Andrew) Reckhart of Greenville, Jennifer L. (Matthew) Stephens of North Huntingdon, and Matthew C. Patricia M. Grainger, 90, a resident of Walden’s View Personal Care, North Huntingdon, formerly of Clairton, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021. She was born May 19, 1930 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Howard F. and Margaret (Walls) Rowland.
She was a member and longtime children’s choir director for Pine Run United Methodist Church, Clairton. She was a very talented person singing, dancing, and playing the drums, and performing with her late husband Gordon Grainger with the Yankee Doodle Dandies.
They performed in many civic centers and parades, and entertained at nursing homes.

Doris Amelia (Gonzales) Amatuzzi, age 88, formerly of North Huntingdon, PA, passed away peacefully at Kane McKeesport Regional Community Living Center on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. She was born March 24, 1932 in McKeesport, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Molly (Weiss) Gonzales.
She was a previous member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in North Huntingdon. She worked for Digital Paging and as a switchboard operator for the UPMC McKeesport Hospital before retiring.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Vincent P. Amatuzzi; sisters Miriam Diggs, Rosalie Hansen, Esther Micklo and Rachel Conrad and brother Joseph “Buddy” Gonzales, Jr.
She is survived by sisters Sylvia Hannen and Linda Micklo; and brothers David “Punch”, Howard, Albert, and Carl Gonzales; her three children Vincent J. (Terri) Amatuzzi of Wetumpka, Alabama, Louise C. Jerrie Lee (Richey) Guldin, 77, of Irwin, peacefully passed away January 19, 2021 with her two sons by her side. She was born May 25, 1943 in Pittsburgh.

James E. Belak, 87, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday January 10, 2021, due to complications from the covid virus. He was born September 2, 1933 in Penn Township, the son of the late Charles and Mary (Belak) Valero. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his beloved son Brett C. Belak. He was the founder of Belak Flowers which he started on November 1, 1960 in Irwin where he worked until his semi-retirement at the age of 65. He greeted everyone with a smile, kind word, and encouragement.
In recent years he had an online business selling mosaics called Mosaics by Kaleb. He was loved by many and will be missed by everyone. Jim graduated from Penn-Joint High School, Class of 1951, where he played basketball and football. He also took a few business classes at Penn State University. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Irwin, where he served on church council for many years.

Patricia “Pat’ A. (Headings) Fryer, age 76, from North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021. She was born February 17, 1944 in McKeesport and grew up in Port Vue, a daughter of the late William and Evelyn Headings. She attended St. Agnes Catholic Church in North Huntingdon. Pat worked for over 28 years as a food service manager for the Norwin School District before retiring.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Gerald Headings. She is survived by her sons Cary (Marlene) Reccelle and Chris (Carla) Reccelle both of North Huntingdon; grandchildren Kyli Miller, Jacob Reccelle and Joshua Reccelle; brothers William (Fay) Headings of Lewistown; Mike Headings of McKeesport and her sister Mary Grace Morris of Port Vue.

Sandra B. Kresovich, 77, died Monday, December 28, 2020. Born in Fredricktown, PA on February 21, 1943, Sandy was the daughter of Daniel and Ann Ruth Battaglini and the devoted wife of the late John C. Kresovich.
Sandy attended California University of Pennsylvania where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Her career began as a third-grade teacher at Gotwall Elementary School in Wilmerding. Later she earned her Reading Specialist Certificate with her Master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and finished her 36-year teaching career with the East Allegheny School District as a 7th and 8th grade Reading teacher at both Park Terrace Middle School and East Allegheny Jr/Sr High School.
Upon her retirement in 1999, Sandy enjoyed traveling. She visited many countries in Europe, always returning to her favorite, Italy. At home, Sandy was a devoted member of Miller United Methodist Church and served on many committees. She also volunteered weekly at the East Allegheny Meals on Wheels.
Sandy will forever be remembered as a kind, caring and loving person who valued her family and her friendships. She loved following Pittsburgh sports teams and enjoyed sharing this love with her friends. Sandy’s wonderful sense of humor and beautiful smile will provide many cherished memories for those who loved her.
