Dolores Jean (Elm) Hite, age 79, of North Versailles, formerly of Liberty Boro, passed away Tuesday May 28, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 13, 1939 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Raymond and Hilda Elm. She was a member of the Linway United Presbyterian Church in North Versailles and worked in the cafeteria at East Allegheny High School. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Leonard Quiggle; son Timothy Quiggle; and brother James McNelis. She is survived by her husband of over 34 years Robert Hite; sons Leonard (Cindy), Gary (Teri), Randy (Connie) and Todd (Michelle) Quiggle; she was the adored Grandma of Jodi (David) Leitzell, Lenny Quiggle, Devon Quiggle, Krista (Meagan) Quiggle, Kaitlin (Chris) Matessa, Virginia Quiggle, Kristal (Derek) Johnson, Cara Quiggle, Todd Quiggle, Alyssa (Tyler) Ruhl, Timothy (Amber) Quiggle and Patrick Quiggle; great grandchildren Savannah, David, Alexa, Bryson, Ryder, Claire, Mason, Mariah, Alexander, Giovanna; brothers William (Dolly) Elm and Wesley McNelis; Sister Sandy McLaughlin; sister-in-law Lois Armstrong; and nieces and nephews.

She was born January 16, 1931 in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of the late Elmer and Irene (McKim) Truxal and was also preceded in death by her husband Irvin P. Fowler. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, North Huntingdon and enjoyed gardening and camping. She is survived by her children David C. Fowler and his wife Nancy, Dale I. Fowler and his wife Cheryl, and Sharon S. Priatko and her husband Chris; her grandchildren David C. Jr., Sandra, Chelsea, and Ashley; a brother John Truxal and his wife Jane; also nieces and nephews.

Annette (Kustra) Knoll, 86, of White Oak, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019. She was born May 28, 1932 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Kazimierz and Mary Ann Kustra. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing puzzles while staying at The Oaks. Annette was preceded in death by her husband Robert Charles Knoll; her sisters and brother Marie, Helen, Theresa, and AL. She is survived by her children Ann Marie (Larry) Liberatore of Murrysville and Chris (Dave) Warren of North Huntingdon; grandchildren Shane, Kristy husband Dave, and Stephen; great-grandson Ethan; her sisters Nancy and Rita; sister in law Terry Knoll; and nieces and nephews. Interment will be private.

Edward Raymond Gumm, age 95, of North Huntingdon, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019. He was born September 13, 1923 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Leo and Mary Elizabeth (Zagoda) Gumm. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin. Edward was a World War II Navy veteran that went on to own the Allegheny Bindery Corporation in Bloomfield before retiring. He is survived by children Dr. Edward A. (Nancy) Gumm and Joanne (Daniel) McCabe; grandchildren Scott (Shannon) Peters, Justin Gumm, Kristin (Justin) Kasprzak and Mindy (Tim) McCabe; great grandchildren Mason and Marlee Kasprzak; and nieces and nephews.

He was a Navy veteran that went onto work as a supervisor at the Westinghouse plant in East Pittsburgh before working for the State of Pennsylvania in the welfare office in McKeesport. He was a member of the Elks in North Huntingdon. He is survived by his loving wife of over 47 years Janice Gray; children Jack (Jennifer) D’Amico, Tara (Michael) Barone, John (Meredith) Gray and Jason (Andrea) Gray; and grandchildren McKenzie Gray, Victoria Barone, Theodore “Teddy” Gray, Charlize “Charlie” Gray and Michael Barone.

She was born March 21, 1929 in Timblin, a daughter of the late Valentine John and Mary Magdalene (Sejmej) Poremba and was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Zafaras and siblings Valerie Rupp, Margaret Mikulich, and John and Chester Poremba. Stella was a retired administrator for Braddock General Hospital and a longtime active member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport. She was a longtime volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels and a member of the Red Hatters. She is survived by her children Sylvia J. Kelly of McKeesport, Craig A. Zafaras of Yukon, and Cheryl J. Early and her husband Scott of Carmel, IN; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, also nieces and nephews.

She was born July 25, 1996 in Greensburg, a daughter of Regis and Kimberly (Anderson) Kerrigan of Arona. She worked as a bar tender and server at Rialto in Greensburg for the last three years. She was a gymnast and enjoyed coaching at Ultimate Gymnastics in Delmont. In addition to her loving parents, she is survived by her sister Corinne Kerrigan (boyfriend Garrett Staff) of McKeesport; grandparents Chris and Genny Triponey; aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin, and enjoyed her ladies 500 card club for over sixty years. She is survived by her daughter Jan Severson of Arizona and her son Blaine Atkins and his wife Jeanne of Florida; her grandchildren Lindsey Atkins Montague and her husband Dr. Brian Montague, Brianne Atkins, Erik Severson and his wife Molly Severson, and Jill Severson; her great grandchildren Jeffrey Blaine (JB), Brayden, and Elena Montague, and Dylan Severson; also nieces and nephews.

Lois (McElroy) Kovacs, 86, a resident of Westmoreland Manor, formerly of Irwin, passed away peacefully Wednesday April 17, 2019. She was born September 21, 1932 in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Adriana M. (Pas) McElroy and was also preceded in death by her brother David Kleyn. Lois grew up in Shafton and was a graduate of Irwin High School. She faithfully worked at Jeannette District Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1996. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Irwin. She had great joy in watching her church grow over the years. Lois was a loving mother and grandmother that raised three sons on her own. She valued family and friends, enjoyed meeting the girls for card club, and had a passion for cars owning many different models throughout her life, her favorite was a 1936 Hudson.

Raymond C. Siegel Sr., 94, a resident of Weatherwood Manor, Greensburg, formerly of Irwin, died Thursday April 18, 2019. He was born September 7, 1924 in Cereal, North Huntingdon Township, a son of the late William George and Helga (Carlson) Siegel. Ray was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army Air Corps and participated in the Normandy Invasion on D-Day plus 1. He was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1942 and received his master’s degree in education from California University of Pennsylvania. He was a school teacher and basketball coach at Penn Trafford School District before becoming a longtime insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Irwin, a Paul Harris Fellow and former member of Norwin Rotary Club and a member of the American Legion Post 359 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 781, both of Irwin.

Lois Drexler (89) of North Huntingdon passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14 at Canterbury Place hospice in Lawrenceville. Lois was born in Pittsburgh on June 27, 1929 to John and Naomi (Miller) Bressler.

Lois grew up on Mt. Washington, always living close to her maternal grandmother, Lillian (Dallmeyer) Miller on Albert Street. She loved spending time with her Aunt Anna and playing stoop ball. After her dear brother “Bill” was killed in action during WWII, Lois and her parents moved to Brookline. She attended South Hills High School and after graduation worked as a secretary at a bank in downtown Pittsburgh until her 1952 marriage to Thomas Drexler of Erie. After a brief time in Erie, Lois and Tom moved back to Brookline where they raised their three children until moving to North Huntingdon in 1975.

Sophie Wojton, age 98, of Tampa, Florida, passed peacefully on Sunday April 14 . She was born in East McKeesport, to the late John and Anna Ekiert. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Matthew S Wojton. She was the ultimate housewife, raising their six children and at the same time, supporting Matthew in his many community endeavors. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, Sister, aunt, Bubba and friend. She and Matthew spent their married life in Wilmerding, and in 2010 she moved to Zephyrhills, Florida where she divided her time amongst her three daughters. She is survived by her children Carol (Richard) Dziki of Zephyrhills, Florida, Blair Wojton of Glassport, Phyllis (Bill) Beaver of Tampa Florida, Fran (Mike) Hoover of Tampa, Florida, Sta Wojton of Wilmerding, Matt Wojton of Latrobe; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Robert J. Sage Jr., 76, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday April 13, 2019. He was born October 24, 1942 in South Connellsville, a son of the late Robert J. Sr. and Alice L. (Lowrey) Sage and was also preceded in death by a son Steven R. Sage and siblings Viola Gray and Paul E. Sage. Robert was a retired certified welder with the Boilermakers Local Union #154, Pittsburgh. He enjoyed feeding the birds in his backyard, loved animals, and enjoyed working on various projects around his home. After retirement, he worked three days a week at Kevin Hunter Automotive. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Judith A. (Magdic) Sage of North Huntingdon; his children Amanda M. Sage of North Huntingdon and fiancé Greg Fincham of Canonsburg, Robert J. Sage III of North Huntingdon, Mark A. (Brenda) Sage of North Carolina and Bonnie J. (Sam) Sage Campbell of Uniontown; five grandchildren; and a sister Nora (Jeff) Domico of Uniontown.
