Mark E. Eisaman of Hunker passed away Saturday February 9th 2019, at home with family by his side. He was born October 24th 1956 in McKeesport, a son of Shirley (Rowley) Eisaman of Hunker and the late Rev. Byron T. Eisaman. Mark was a retired employee of FedEx. He loved to travel and loved boating. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Cindy (Kubas) Eisaman; children Maria (Brandon) Kear of North Huntingdon and Eric Ferry of Greensburg; his grandson Cameron Kear; siblings Diane (Tim) Fisher of Virginia, Jill (Jim) Kratochvil of Jeannette, and Rodd (Jamie) Eisaman of Greensburg; also nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Lynda J. (Rosgone) Bacco, 76, of North Versailles, passed away Sunday February 3, 2019. She was born July 31, 1942 in Homestead, a daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret (Papp) Rosgone. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Arturo V. Bacco and a brother Gregg Rosgone. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport, and a member of Mon Yough area council of PTAs for 42 years serving two terms as president. She loved children and had a passion for helping them grow. She attended Robert Morris University, was a fashion model in New York City and Pittsburgh, and also owned and operated her own jewelry business for over 30 years. She was a true animal lover having rescued many during her lifetime.

John Peter Frydrych, 95, passed away February 4, 2019 at Golden Heights Personal Care in Penn Township. He was born in Wilmerding on May 5, 1923 to the late Walter and Nellie (Kasprzyk) Frydrych.
John grew up in Wilmerding where he lived for 92 years. He graduated from Westinghouse Memorial High School in 1941 and proudly served with the U.S. Army during World War II from September 1942 through December 1945. After arriving back home in 1945 John went back to work for the Westinghouse Airbrake Company in Wilmerding. He retired after 44 years of service as a machinist.
John married his late wife Sophie (Czekaj) Frydrych in 1968 and was happily married for 46 years. John was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish and the former St. Leocadia Church. He served his church and family selflessly.

Twila J. (Sorg) Swauger, age 71, of East McKeesport passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, February 3, 2019. She was born in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Wayne and Margaret (Peters) Sorg. She retired after 40 years as the school bus terminal manager for First Student that provides busses for the Norwin, Gateway, and East Allegheny schools. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son John McNeill; and brother Arthur Sorg. She is survived by her children Carol (Jimmy) Reed of McKeesport, Jeffrey (Diane) McNeill of East McKeesport and Karen (Mark) Loving of North Versailles; grandchildren Amy McNeill, Joshua McNeill, Brandon Reed, Evan Reed, Lexi Loving, Hailey Loving, Brianna Loving and Ryleigh Loving; sister Nancy (Stan) Costanzo; sister-in-law Debbie Sorg; and nieces and nephews.

James F. Winkles, Age 84, formerly of East McKeesport, entered the kingdom of heaven on January 26, 2019. Jim served our country in the US Army, served as an East McKeesport police officer, and retired from LTV Inc. after 30 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in North Versailles. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janice (Eisaman) Winkles; his son Greg Winkles and wife Cindy; his daughter Lori Zapf and son-in-law Joseph; his granddaughters, Rachel and Alexis; siblings Earl Winkles and Mary Voytko; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lawrence M. “Larry” “Flip” Phillips, 79 of Irwin, passed away Sunday January 20, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born April 6, 1939 in McKeesport, the son of the late Adam and Marie (Kaiser) Phillips. Known as Flip from the age of six, he was respected by his loyal friends and students. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1964 from Fort Hayes Kansas State College where he played basketball for four years reaching the NAIA semifinals twice. For the next 34 years he was a dedicated educator. It all began in Paola, Kansas teaching Biology and coaching basketball before moving back to Pittsburgh. He taught Biology and Chemistry at Gateway High School for 29 years and was Facility Manager for athletics working closely with the Athletic Director until becoming Athletic Director for his final three years at Gateway. He was a proud member of the Gateway High School Sports Hall of Fame and served on the nominating committee. Larry enjoyed the beach, cruising, and playing golf. He was an avid sports fan especially Penn State football and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. He was a Steelers season ticket holder for 40 years. Larry spent many summers golfing and vacationing in Sunset Beach with his golf buddies right after school let out for the summer and later with family and friends.

Lester M. Dolton Jr., 86, of Murrysville, passed away Wednesday January 16, 2019. He was born May 26, 1932 in Clairton, a son of the late Lester M Dalton Sr. and Emma (Adams) Dalton. Lester is an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired electrician for U.S. Steel, Clairton Works. He was a member of Holiday Park United Methodist Church and the Junior Order of United American Mechanics where he held various local, state, and national offices. He had a love and passion for bowling, participating in five bowling leagues, one of which he started 50 years ago. He was bowling only weeks before his passing. Lester had a great love of and faith in the Lord. He loved everyone he met and in return was loved by many. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Janet (Crownover) Dolton; son Brian Dolton; son-in-law Keith Ferrington Sr., and brother Ronald Dolton. Gerald T. Dempsey Sr., age 93, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019. He was a World War II Navy veteran that completed an extensive course in timepiece repair that set him up for his future work and helped him with repairing friend's time pieces. He retired after over 42 years as an instrument repairman at the Edgar Thompson Works in Braddock. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and spend time in the outdoors. He always looked forward to traveling to Georgia in the summers with his wife to buy and restore antiques with his father-in-law for his resale shop. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 43 years Viona "Vi" Dempsey; parents; and many brothers. Douglas Keith Roberts, 64, of Manor, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. He was born January 15, 1954 in Pittsburgh, a son of late William and Virginia (Walder) Roberts. Doug was a 1971 graduate of Norwin High School where he was an all-star wrestler and was later inducted into the Norwin Hall of Fame. Prior to his retirement he was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 66. Doug will be remembered for his patience, good sense of humor, and quick wit.
