He was born November 6, 1939 in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Carl Paul and Eva Pearl (Balsley) Anderson. Carl was an auto body repairman and a former employee of Budget Rent-A-Car. He was a Past Master and former Secretary for Shidle Lodge, No. 601, Free & Accepted Masons, Irwin. He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Barbara J. (Stewart) Anderson; his children, Carl J. Anderson Jr. and his wife Beth of Tucson, AZ and Rhonda L. Brncic and her husband Chas of Murrysville; his grandchildren, Ian Carl Anderson, Carly B. She was born October 13, 1934 in Wilmerding, a daughter of the late Walter and Grace Mae (Donaldson) Brady and was also preceded in death by her husband Donald F. Jacobs and a brother Dennis Brady. She was a former monitor for Norwin School District and was a foster parent to over forty children. She is survived by her children Debra Jacobs of NC, Colleen Fonzo and husband John of Irwin, Linda Pence and husband Howard of Irwin, Donald Jacobs Jr. and husband Richard Ellis of HI, Patricia Graham and husband Ralph of Lowber, Mary Ann Bell and husband Darryl of Jeannette, and Matthew Jacobs of North Huntingdon; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a sister Colleen Dvorcak of VA; also many nieces and nephews.

Rev. Alan W. Thompson, age 65, of East McKeesport, formerly of Butler, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019. He was born November 18, 1953 in West Palm Beach, Florida, son of the late Donald and Joan Thompson. He answered the Lord's call on his life into ministry with the Christian & Missionary Alliance, serving for the last 6 ½ years as pastor at the Broadway Alliance Church in East McKeesport. He was a humble man with a true servant's heart, as evidenced by the love and respect he was shown not only from his congregation, but the community at large. He also enjoyed volunteering as a chaplain at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He is survived by his loving wife of over 34 years Teri M. Thompson; children Christine Thompson of Butler, Nicole (Jason) Rath of Butler, Patrick (Leah) King of Pittsburgh and Megan Patton of Butler; 8 grandchildren; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Washington, a daughter of the late Christof and Grace (Deal) Shipley and was also preceded in death by her husband Robert R. “Dick” Morgan Sr.; a son David Edward Morgan; a son in law Donald Berger; and brothers Paul, Ralph, and Robert Shipley. She was a former employee of East Allegheny School District and a member of Linway United Presbyterian Church, North Versailles, where she served as a Deacon and Elder and was a member of the Tuesday Ladies. She was a past president of Ma’s Pantry, a former Forbes Hospice volunteer, and a former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed ceramics and at one time operated Morgan’s Ceramics East in East McKeesport. She loved bowling and bingo and was a member of the University Bowling League for many years. She had attended the south Side School of Nursing before marrying her husband and raising her family. She is survived by her children Cindy (Martin) Busija, Rick (Shari) Morgan, Sally Rettger (Jeff), Kathy Berger, and Patty (Sean) Marks; her grandchildren Jennifer (Jason) Posey, Samantha Morgan, Martin (Laura) Busija, Robert Morgan III, Rachel Rettger (Michael) , Jessica Berger, Chad Rettger, Ian Marks, and Nathan Marks; her great grandchildren Kyle and Natalie Grace DePugh; a sister Mary Lou (Martin) Fichtenmayer; also nieces and nephews.

He was born August 4, 1931 in East McKeesport, the son of the late Gunnard and Bertha Landstrom. He was a former member of the Christy Park Methodist Church in McKeesport. He retired after a long career as a clerk in accounting for US Steel at the Irvin Works in West Mifflin. He had a passion for baseball and loved to coach young players in the little league of McKeesport, CCAC and many other groups. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Edith Considine, Mildred Lorge, Ruth Bendel. Dorothy was a member of the Golden Key Club, AARP, and White Oak American Legion Post 701 auxillary for over 30 years where she held office as historian and vice president. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and after retirement spending winters in Venice, FL.

Sue Ann (Gobbel) O’Brien, age 79, of North Versailles, passed away peacefully at Concordia of Ridgewood Sunday, March 3, 2019. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Dennis M. O’Brien. She was born in McKeesport on March 5, 1939 along with her identical twin sister Sandra Dee Danielson. They were known in McKeesport as “The Gobbel Twins”. They both graduated from McKeesport High School and were inseparable. It was common for people to mistake one for the other, which they both enjoyed. Sue Ann took great joy in caring for her husband and three children. She was competitive, athletic and stayed active throughout her life. She became a very good golfer in her 50’s and played as often as she could while battling Alzheimer’s.

Jeffrey was a graduate of East Allegheny High School, class of 1984, and worked as a carpenter. He was a low keyed guy and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
