Gene Wesley Errett, 85, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Texas. He was born August 21, 1933 in Greensburg, son of the late William R. and Hazel (Rosensteel) Errett. Prior to his retirement from the military, Gene was an E-7 Helicopter Maintenance Supervisor for the US Army. He was a member of Norwin Church of the Nazarene, American Legion and was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Errett; daughter, Cheryle Hill; son, Gene Wesley Errett Jr; brothers, William R. Jr. and Homer Errett; and nephew, Ronald Errett. He is survived by his children Paul Errett, Dale Errett, Dan Errett, Cynthia Williams, Diana Williams, Gary Williams; grandchildren, Christopher, Rochelle, Christopher, Jacqueline, Dan Jr., and Anna; and five great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Interment with military honors will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. Harry Lee Jeffers, age 78 of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Jefferson Hospital. Born July 28, 1941 in Floreffe, he was a US Army Veteran and worked at J&L Steel's South Side Works in Pittsburgh, the Yorkshire, and McDonalds. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Mae Ann (Lazur) Ward; his sisters Dawn Walker and Debbie Simkin; and also nieces and nephews. Ronald M. "The Old Man" Campion, 64, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019. He was born November 7, 1954 in Bethel Park, son of the late Vincent and Erna (Steitz) Campion. Prior to his retirement, Ron was a music teacher for Bethel Park School District for 30 years. He played with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and was inducted into the Festival of Music Hall of Fame. He was a civil war enthusiast and enjoyed gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Andrew McQuiston; sister, Marie Campion; and brother, Karl Campion. William J. “Jack” Deanhardt, Jr., 88, formerly of Venice, Florida, passed away peacefully in Columbia, South Carolina, on July 27, 2019. He was born January 31, 1931, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, son of the late William J. Deanhardt, Sr. and Edith Hendrickson Deanhardt.
Jack leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Audrey; his son, David J. Deanhardt (Julia) of Clatskanie, Oregon; his daughter, Barbara D. Corpora (Ronald) of Columbia, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Matthew (Kristen), Christian, and Miranda Corpora, Geoffrey, Austin, and Andrew Deanhardt; as well as four great-grandsons, Matthew, Samuel, Gabriel and Thomas Corpora. He is also survived by his brother, Donald J. Deanhardt of The Villages in Florida.
After graduating from McKeesport High School in 1949, Jack attended Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, before enlisting in the United States Air Force. Lieutenant Deanhardt proudly served for five years as a navigator/bombardier on a B56 bomber. After leaving the service, he became an agent for Nationwide Insurance Company. He owned and operated the Deanhardt Agency in White Oak, Pennsylvania, for 35 years.

Teresa (Cavatoni) Banfield, age 91, of Atria South Hills, formerly of Jefferson Hills, passed away on July 23, 2019.
She was born June 30, 1928 in Colver, Pa., to Tullio and Maria (Parissenti) Cavatoni. Teresa was a R.N. at the Bruceton Research Center and previously served in the USAF from 1950-1965 after she graduated from the Windber Hospital Training School for Nurses in 1949.
Teresa was active at the Jefferson Hills Women's Club and volunteered at the food bank in Duquesne and with the Ladies of Charity at St. Thomas a Becket Church. She loved family, cats and gardening.
Teresa is survived by her two sons, Tim (Kathy) Banfield and Mike Banfield; a sister, Edith Zawiskie; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She retired as an anesthesia tech at McKeesport Hospital and was a member of Bethesda United Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth. Like Rosie the Riveter, she worked at U.S. Steel Irvin Works during World War II. She loved her family, her home, animals and she enjoyed baking. She was an extremely generous person who loved Christmas and giving gifts.

Joshua Charles (Josh) Boucek, 41 of McKeesport, died Thursday, July 18, 2019. He was the son of John and Elsie Parton Boucek. Josh was a collector with many interests. He was highly creative and a talented artist. He loved animals and nature, and was an avid hiker on the Yough Trail. He worked for the Carnegie Free Library of McKeesport for several years before becoming involved with e commerce. Josh is survived by his mother, sister Julie Kobesky, brother-in-law Daryl and niece Ania, sister Janet Fellows, nieces Liz, Holly and Allie, brother-in-law Chris Fellows, aunts and uncles, and cousins, Linda and Keith Donati, Jess Horenstein, Keith and Tina Parton, Janet and Chuck Waugaman, Chelsea and Gretchen, Jeff and Kathy Boucek, Katie and Johnathan, and many extended family members. A memorial service is planned for later this fall. Contributions may be made to the McKeesport Trail Commission, or to the White Oak Animal Safe Haven, a no kill animal shelter. Jean Greaves, age 89, of Point Pleasant Retirement Community, formerly of White Oak, died, Saturday, July 20, 2019. She is the daughter of the late Robert Ellsworth and Olive Sigler Shallenberger and was born in McKeesport, PA on Feb. 10, 1930. She is the wife of the late Robert E. “Bob” Greaves who died Jan. 13, 2013.
Jean was the secretary for the former Mayor of McKeesport, Jack Pribanic, and was also a legal secretary for various attorneys and judges in the Mon Valley. She was a former Deacon for Central Presbyterian Church, and a current member of Sampson’s Mills Presbyterian Church. She was formerly a member of the McKeesport Hospital Junior Women’s Committee and a former member of the Board of Directors of the McKeesport Hospital Foundation. She loved the holidays, playing bingo and cards, cruising, and having fun with family and friends.

Jean Louise Bonnet Causer, born September 22, 1955 in McKeesport, PA, died unexpectedly at home in Crownsville, Maryland on July 4, 2019. She was preceded in death by parents, Barbara and George Bonnet. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jack “Kep” Causer; sisters, Ann (Tim) Ginnevan of N. Huntingdon, Carol (Jayme) Burgman of White Oak; brother-in-law, Bob (Diane) Causer of Frederick, Maryland; 2 nieces, 3 nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews.
After graduation from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Jean married her high school sweetheart. The couple moved to Maryland where Jean was a government contracts administrator and lovingly cared for many precious pets over the years.

Dale William Mays, 66, of White Oak, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, July 18, 2019. He was born August 13, 1952 in McKeesport, loving son of William and Elaine (Ohs) Mays. Prior to his retirement, Dale was a brakeman for Union Railroad and a graduate of Norwin Senior High School Class of 1970. He was an avid reader and loved art and music. Patricia Ann Harris, age 87, of McKeesport, died July 17, 2019. She was born in McKeesport on October 17, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Ida Mondin Forsberg and her late husband, Elmer. She is the wife of the late Jack H. Harris. She was retired from Penn State University after 40 years of service, working in their Continuing Education Program.
When wintering in Florida with her daughter, she volunteered at South Florida Fair in West Palm Beach. However, because of her love for the City of McKeesport, she was extremely active in various organizations. She was the Volunteer Coordinator at McKeesport Heritage Center and Co-Chair of the Festival of Trees. She organized the Penn State Retirees Luncheon Group and volunteered for many years for McKeesport International Village.

He was a member of Brentwood VFW, Brookline American Legion, Dormont AARP, and a longtime member of Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Brookline and recently St. Richard Catholic Church in Gibsonia. In his retirement years, Mr. & Mrs. Riley traveled extensively in the U.S., Canada, & Europe. The Riley's moved to Gibsonia in 2015 to be near family.

Stanley F. Makoski Sr., age 68, of McKeesport, formerly of Mt. Washington, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service on the North Side. As a child, he was on the safety patrol in elementary school, sang in the youth choir, and served as an altar boy. In his 20s, he took the Civil Service test and passed with a score of 93. Stanley delivered mail to Art Rooney, who often gifted him with a cigar or two. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pirates and faithfully followed both teams on television. On March 22, he celebrated 15 years of sobriety and being smoke-free. He prided himself on living his life "one day at a time."

Daughter of the late Paul C. and Ellen Barber Sandmeyer, formerly of New Hope, where she spent her younger years, she was born in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Elgin Academy, in Elgin, Illinois.
Judi was a resident of Warminster for the past 20 years and was employed at a pharmacy in Hatboro. Because of her talent and creativity, art became a hobby and she did free-lance designs.

William Donald Link, age 75, of McKeesport, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019. He was born in McKeesport on November 26, 1943 and is the son of the late Wilmer and Ruth Considine Link. He was employed as a taxi driver in Denver, Colorado for many years eventually retiring back in McKeesport. He enjoyed reading and trivia pursuit. He was very knowledgeable and knew the lyrics to many songs.
He is survived by children, Patrick Henry Link of Castle Rock, Colorado and Penny Leigh (Toby) Hoenshell of Parker, Colorado; grandchild Baleigh Kai Hoenshell; siblings, Richard John (Marlene) Link of California, Pennsylvania, Nancy Ruth Zmugg of Denver, Colorado, Thomas Martin (Nancy) Link of Mt. Lebanon, Mary Lou (Louis) Mazure of Fayetteville, Georgia, Kathryn Ann (Stephen) Petro of Kamiah, Idaho, Patricia Louise (Stephen) Foster of Baldwin; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, 1 great-great niece and 1 great-great nephew.

Tommy was a graduate of South Allegheny High School. He was a pre-press manager at Comprint Inc in Gaithersburg, MD. After spending 19 years in the Washington, DC area, Tommy returned home. Soon he became involved in coaching youth football with the South Allegheny Youth Football Association. He loved coaching and was recognized with the Pittsburgh Steelers MVP Award for his commitment to the Association and the players despite his many health issues. In addition, the Tom Mawritz Extra Effort Award was created by the Association and is given each year to the player who never quits trying. Tommy was also an avid Pitt fan and will be missed by all who knew him.
Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved brother Dr. Kenneth J Mawritz Sr. He is survived by his sister Nancy (Mawritz) George and her husband Joseph of Germantown, MD; sister-in-law Natalie (Shadwick) Mawritz of Collegeville, PA; nephews Kenneth Mawritz Jr. and his wife Mary of Havertown, PA, Jason George of Rockville, MD, Brendan George of New York City, NY, niece Holly L. Mawritz and her husband Jonathan Goodroad of Glenside PA; and his five grandnephews and niece Logan, Liam, Lucas, Levi and Madeleine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at Wojciechowski Funeral Home 640 Vermont Ave. Glassport, PA on Saturday July 20, 2019 from Noon to 1:30 pm, at which time a funeral blessing will be held. Burial will be held privately. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway 14th floor, New York, NY 10004.

Hilda Janelle Brown, 82, of Boston, Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019. She was born in Ninety Six, South Carolina, on January 2, 1937, a daughter to the late Robert and Alma (Stribling) Hall.
She was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be forever loved and missed.

Adrienne Ann Kapisak of Greensburg, formerly of Port Vue and White Oak, died Sunday, June 30, 2019. She was born in McKeesport, PA on June 25, 1943 and is the daughter of the late John and Anna Pribish Kapisak. She is survived by cousins and friends.
She graduated from McKeesport Hight School, Class of 1961, the Indiana University of PA with a BS in Ed., and received her M.Ed. from the University of Pittsburgh. Adrienne pursued further education during her teaching career though National Science Foundation grants at various schools throughout the United States.
