Judith “Judy” E. Reyes, age 74 of North Versailles, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021. She was born September 4, 1947 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Peter and Virginia (Kelly) Reyes. She was a long-time member of Mary Mother of God Parish, Formerly St. Robert Bellarmine, in East McKeesport. She worked for over 30 years as an IT supervisor for Consol Energy in the South Hills before retiring.

She is survived by her brother James (Donna) Reyes of North Huntingdon; sister Sallie Wayner of Avonmore; sister-in-law Donna Reyes of North Versailles; many nieces and nephews; and her cats Mama, Sox and Mandy.

Christina Rae (Melegari) Blum, age 50, of East McKeesport, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 5, 2021. She was born January 15, 1971. She worked as a flagger in the Union Local 1058. She loved helping people in need and donated her time helping with suicide awareness. Even in death, Christina helped other by being an organ donor. She is preceded in death by her father James Perry Melegari; and brothers James and Ray Melegari. She is survived by her husband Harold E. Blum; son Larson J. Margaret K. “Marge” Winwood-Shroup, 90, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday October 2, 2021. She was born April 27, 1931 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Thomas and Gertrude (Rader) Mimnaugh. She was a longtime bridal shop consultant and also owner of MarWin Bridal along with her late husband William E. Winwood Jr. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son Mark Edward Winwood. She is survived by her son Russ Winwood and his wife Karen of North Huntingdon; her daughter in law Roberta Winwood of Greensburg; her grandchildren Jason (Jaime) Winwood, Jon (Kelly) Winwood, and Jamie (Anthony) McKee; and four great grandchildren.

She was born March 18, 1930 in Herminie, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Arch) Serro and was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph Pirschl and her daughter Anne Degre. Florence was a former bookkeeper for Serro Scotty Trailers and loved reading her Bible. She is survived by her children Gary Pirschl of Champion and Susan (John) Skundrich of North Huntingdon; her son in law Henri Degre of Greensburg; her grandchildren Lauren (David) Diffenderfer, Timothy Skundrich (fiancé Bianca Tang), Andrew Skundrich (fiancé Maddison Morrell), Diana Skundrich, Brayden Degre, Noah Pirschl, Samuel Degre, Nicolas Degre, and Pierce Pirschl; and her sister Johann Cherry of Florida.

Jane Louise (Harrison) Strong, 80, of Carlisle, formerly of Shafton, North Huntingdon Township, passed peacefully on the morning of September 20, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born October 6, 1940 in Braddock, the devoted daughter of Albert E. Harrison and Dorothy Marie (Buchanan) Harrison. Jane Louise grew up in North Versailles, graduating from Westinghouse Memorial High School in 1958. She then attended Shadyside School of Nursing earning her Registered Nurse credentials in 1961 and devoted her life to nursing with her eventual retirement from Family Home Health Services, Monroeville, where she was the Director of Restorative Services.

Nellie “Betty” E. (Mulkerin) Brown, age 94, of North Versailles, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021. She was born April 30, 1927 in Swissvale, a daughter of the late Frank and Nellie Mulkerin. She attended Linway United Presbyterian Church in North Versailles until her health did not allow her to travel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years Ross Harlan Brown Sr.; son Ronald Brown; brothers William and Ronald Mulkerin; and sister Mary Jane Felt.

She is survived by her children Ross (Robin) Brown Jr. of Columbus, Ohio and Patricia “Patti” Dzikiy of Jeannette; grandchildren Heather (Richard) Dzikiy-Fisherowski, Stefani (Ralph) Wasil and Lindsay (Jason) Garner; great grandchildren Olivia Garner and Evelyn Wasil; and brother Thomas (Kathi) Mulkerin of Arlington, Texas.

Murriel S. (Mort) Magee, 105, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday August 17, 2021. She was born May 26, 1916 in New Castle, a daughter of the late David and Rose (Hillman) Mort and was also preceded in death by her husband James B. Magee and siblings William, Hilda, and Charles Mort.

Murriel was a former hairdresser. She and her late husband James “Burt”, who worked for U.S. Steel, started their married life in New Castle and then moved to Dravosburg. Following Burt’s career then moved to Fairless Hills. After retirement they moved to Vero Beach, Florida, before moving back to McKeesport to be closer to family. She loved music, loved to sing, and enjoyed travelling to visit family.

Jacqueline “Jacci” L. Ford, Age 59, of North Versailles, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021. She was born April 2, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late James and Mary Ford. She was a long time Avon representative and worked as a shift leader at Dunkin Donuts in North Versailles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Peggi Graham. She is survived by her husband Kenneth J. Lindauer Jr.; children Thomy Ford, Kristina Lindauer and Kenneth J. Lindauer III; sister Patti (Don) Fetsic of North Braddock; and many friends. Helen C. (Matusz) Bargiel

Helen C. (Matusz) Bargiel, age 92, of White Oak, formerly of West Wilmerding, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021.  She was born February 7, 1929 in West Wilmerding.

She is survived by her children Elaine Kaminski of Baltimore, MD, Theodore F. (Michalene) Bargiel of Jefferson Hills, Richard (MaryAnn) Bargiel of White Oak and Diane Bargiel of Poultney, Vermont, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and loving nieces and nephews. 

Helen belonged to St. Leocadia and St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Churches in Wilmerding, now part of St. Joseph the Worker.  She served both churches as a member of the choir, Rosary Society and Parish Council and as a lector and Sacristan. She had a beautiful voice and often sang as a soloist. She was the head cook when the ladies of the parish made pierogi and Polish sweet rolls. Helen received the 2011 Manifesting the Kingdom Award from the Diocese of Pittsburgh for her service to the church and was the keynote speaker at the final banquet at St. Leocadia. Helen was a lifetime member of the PNA and enjoyed listing to Polish songs and singing Polish Hymns. She was also a member of the West Wilmerding Civic Club.

Byron G. Wardropper, 75, of North Huntingdon, died unexpectedly June 29, 2021. He was born April 16, 1946 in McKeesport, a son to the late Harry James and Edna Samantha (Littleton) Wardropper and was also preceded in death by his brothers Tom and Gerald Wardropper and his brother in law Colin Hemus. He was the CEO and founder of Innovative Carbide in Irwin. He spent over 57 years in the tungsten carbide industry and started his own business in 1987. He also owned IC Recycling Solutions in Irwin, and Action Roof Tile Tooling in Lake Wales, FL. His legacy will live on through his wife and children.

Byron had a love for aviation and was known as “El Lobo'' among his pilot friends. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association, and Cirrus Owners and Pilot Association. He was also an avid outdoorsman and life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the McKeesport Gun Club.
