Kier D. Higginbotham, age 46, of McKeesport, died July 13, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport. Born April 24, 1975, in Dorchester, MA, he the son of Woodrow Barry and the late Betty Jo Higginbotham.
Kier liked to take care of his family and friends at any cost. He enjoyed playing chess and his favorite game to play was Scrabble. Kier was a devoted man of God and carried his Bible everywhere. He loved all kinds of music, loved cooking from scratch, with chicken noodle soup the family favorite and loved watching action and sci-fi movies.
Kier will be missed by all.

Charles E. Peck, age 80, of McKeesport, died July 29, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. Born October 31, 1940, in Glassport, he was the son of the late Edward and Angelina (DiPerna) Peck and the husband of the late Roberta (Harff) Peck.
Chuck retired from Ashland Oil Co., where he was a service manager. He also worked at Camp Hill Corp. of McKeesport. Chuck was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church of McKeesport and the former St. Cecelia Church of Glassport. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, video poker, and trips to the casino. Chuck's family's happiness brought him the greatest joy in life.

William George Kessling, age 68, of Liberty Borough, died July 22, 2021, at Kane Community Living Center. Born February 22, 1953, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William C. and Elizabeth A. (Clarke) Kessling.
Bill retired from his family's business Kessling Pharmacy, where he managed the company from 1986 until December 28, 2014, when his dear mother died. The family business served the surrounding communities of Liberty Borough for 67 years. Before that, he worked at US Steel National Tube Works until its closure in 1986. He was a former member of Liberty Presbyterian Church. Bill was also a member of the Liberty Borough Veterans Association, where he could often be found laughing and joking with friends.
He enjoyed following Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football. His greatest joy was the years he spent with his mother serving the community and continuing his father's legacy by managing the family business.

Blanche H. Upperman, age 73, of McKeesport, died July 19, 2021, at home. Born September 8, 1947, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Cooper) Upperman.
Blanche was a loving person with the biggest heart. She enjoyed traveling and family vacations to Wheeling, West Virginia.
She is survived by her siblings, Harry Upperman of McKeesport, Marchelle (Donald, Jr.) Boccardi of Rostraver and Aljean Wilcher of Port Vue; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; also many cousins.

Erin Bachman, age 49, of McKeesport, died July 16, 2021, at home after surviving 3 years with colon cancer. Born October 14, 1971, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Sandy Bachman of McKeesport and the late Raymond Bachman of Versailles Boro.
Erin was relentless against any obstacle thrown her way. She was and always will be her mother’s hero. Erin enjoyed listening to music, dancing to it, or even writing her own songs for her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She was able to live the rest of her life with her sweetheart, Maurice "Mo" Chepell, by her side. Erin was 1993 graduate of McKeesport High School.

Dennis M. Glaub, age 73, of North Huntingdon, formerly of McKeesport, died July 13, 2021, at home. Born July 7, 1948, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Gerondites) Glaub and beloved partner of Judith Wargovich for 28 years. Dennis served in the Marines during the Vietnam War and was a member of the North Versailles VFW Post 8430. He worked for Duquense Light and retired as a Lineman. He enjoyed fishing, whether locally or taking trips to the Chesapeake Bay or Canada.

Donald J. Scott, age 64, of Dravosburg, died July 7, 2021, at home, on his 14th wedding anniversary. Born September 8, 1956, in McKeesport, he was the son of Artha (Westerburg) Scott and the late William Scott and loving husband of Debra (Abels) Scott. Donald was a Vietnam War Era Veteran and served with the U.S. Navy. He worked as a foreman with the Dravosburg Street Department and a big rig truck driver for nearly 40 years. His truck driving took him all over, and he enjoyed traveling throughout the east coast.

Frances W. Mehalcik, age 94, of McKeesport, formerly of Glassport, died July 5, 2021, at home surrounded by her most treasured earthly possessions, her family; she crossed the threshold of our worldly barrier, and entered the realm of our loving Lord. Born August 10, 1926, in Glassport, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Ann (Wiernicki) Derewonko and the wife of the late John L. "Sauers" Mehalcik, who died May 29, 2000.
Frances retired from Duquesne University of Pittsburgh, where she was a waitress. She became lifelong friends with dear co-workers; JoAnne Topoleski and Dolly Pavlecic. She was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish and attended Queen of the Rosary Church of Glassport. Frances enjoyed her soap operas, crossword puzzles, and baking. She was also an avid Penguins hockey and Steelers football fan.
Frances was defined by her faithful and unwavering love for all who entered her life; she will be sadly missed by each.

Francis V. "Frank" Davis, age 72, of Port Vue, died July 5, 2021, at home. Born December 7, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Emily (Stepanic) Davis and husband of Theda (Buckholtz) Davis. Frank worked for U.S. Steel for 31 years and retired as a Blast Furnace Supervisor. Frank served with the Marines and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned a Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the Port Vue American Legion Post 447 and an officer, a member of the Glassport American Legion Post 443, and a lifetime member of the Clairton VFW Post 803.

DorisJean Kearns 89, of Dunedin, FL formerly of White Oak and McKeesport, PA went to be with Jesus and her husband Bill on Valentine's Day Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021 at North Naples Community Hospital. Born March 9, 1931 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Marshall D. and Leah N. (Bumbaugh) Biddle Sr. and the loving wife of the late William J. Kearns Sr. In her younger years, DorisJean made some of her own clothes and all of her Rainbow Girls gowns. She was a devoted housewife and mother and when her husband was laid off from his job and he had to take a cut in pay at his new job she went to work in customer service and retail for G. C. Murphy's, Gimbel's and Kaufmann's department stores and retired 35 years later. DorisJean was an excellent cook and she loved to entertain. She volunteered for years as the secretary for the Mon-Yough Adult Retardation Center (MYARC). DorisJean was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law and friend. She always made beautiful lasting relationships. She loved Jesus and in 1995 she and her husband were baptized at Riverview Baptist Church where she was an avid volunteer for many years. In 2014 she moved to Florida to live near her son and his family. There she grew to love the beach, went on many adventurous road trips with them and furthered her Biblical education with their ministry, King's Gate Church. She supported their ministry and volunteered there as well. She never stopped, she was full of life, full of love, very honest and firm in her beliefs, a great encourager, very generous, leaving a piece of her heart with all those she knew. She is forever in our hearts and greatly missed.

Janice K. Bartko, age 65, of McKeesport, died June 25, 2021, at home. Born November 20, 1955, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Janet C. (Lewis) Glos.
Janice worked for the University of Pittsburgh in the payroll and benefits department. She graduated from South Allegheny High School and continued on to get an Associate's Degree from CCAC.
Janice was an animal lover. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Penelope.

Gordon S. Carter, age 89, of McKeesport, died June 22, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born January 7, 1932, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Wayne and Elizabeth (Sari) Carter. Gordon graduated from McKeesport Technical High School in 1949 and then enlisted in the Navy that August. He would receive his training at Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois as a Fire Control Technician. While on active duty, he served aboard the USS Hector (AR-7), USS Owen (DD-536) and participated in the Battle of Inchon.
