Denise Lynn (Boal) Finnegan, age 61, of Elizabeth Twp., formerly of Clairton, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 14, 1960 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of Evelyn (Olesky) Bendik and the late David Boal. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 36 years, Kevin Sean Finnegan. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn (Edward) Bendik of Clairton; sons, Justin (Holly) Finnegan of Port Vue and Josh (Katie) Finnegan of Whitehall; daughter, Jacobi (Christopher) Holland of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Isabella Finnegan, Devlin Finnegan and Lincoln Holland; brothers, David (Marsha) Boal of Jefferson Hills, Jeffrey Boal of White Oak and Russell (Tiffany) Boal of Elizabeth; also, nieces, nephews and friends. Denise was a Registered Nurse at West Penn Hospital for more than 27 years, where she had a loving compassion for helping to provide love and care to babies in the neonatal unit. Denise will be deeply missed by everyone that loved her, especially her grandchildren for whom she truly lived for.

Thomas C. Reilly Jr., 74, passed away peacefully Friday, November 26, 2021 in Mesa, Arizona. Formerly from McKeesport, Pa., he was born December 13, 1946, the son of Thomas C. Reilly Sr. and Kathryne (Tyson) Reilly.

Tom served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier Franklin D. Roosevelt. After leaving the Navy he worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut. He moved to Mesa, Arizona, in 1974 and worked for City of Mesa Utility Company.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Laura; daughters Katelyn and Carly; sons Joe and Ryan; brother Bill Reilly; and sisters, Toni Weyer and Jan Greco.

Gwendolyn Gay (Speelman) Lapsley age 81, of McKeesport, died December 1, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport. Born November 17, 1940, in Lippencott, she was the daughter of Joseph and Virginia (McMannes) Speelman and the wife of the late Alfred Robert Lapsley Jr.
Gay graduated from Masontown High School, then married the love of her life, Bob Lapsley from McKeesport. They were married 54 1/2 years until God took him home on January 5, 2013.
Gay retired in 2002 from Bombardier, formerly known as Westinghouse in West Mifflin, after 32 years. She previously worked for Penny's in Eastland. She was a member of St. Mark's Parish. Gay enjoyed crocheting and her word search puzzles.

Son of the late Louis and late Antoinette (Bergamasco) Berry Sr., he was born on March 31, 1954, in Braddock. Louis was a retired carpenter and enjoyed knitting rugs, gardening and riding his motorcycle. He proudly served his county in the Army and the National Guard and was deployed during Desert Storm. He is the husband of Karen (Gailliot) Berry for 43 years; brother of Rosemary (Bob) Matthews of Alaska, Lena Berry of McKees Rocks, Joseph Berry, and late Frank (late Angel) Berry; brother-in-law of John and Linda Zitelli of Whitaker. Also survived by mother-in-law, Margaret Gailliot of Whitaker. There is no visitation. (Gorscak) Tubbs for 24 years; father of 4 sons; stepfather of Beth (Lou) Chillinsky of Irwin, Robert Burwell II of Frederick, MD and the late Michael Burwell; brother of Gertrude (late Bill) Carter of Florida, Catherine (late Dom) Spinozzi of McKeesport and Dolores Snyder of Bethlehem, PA.; step grandchildren, Robert (Shawna) Chillinsky and Jonathon (Melissa) Chillinsky; 5 step great grandchildren, Roman, Lilyana, Sophia, Luna, and Willow. Paul Thomas Vavra, 73 of Dravosburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021, at his home. He was born in McKeesport on October 17, 1948, to the late Albert J. Vavra and Theresa Moran Williams. Paul was the loving husband of 52 years to Georgia M. Lesko Vavra. He is survived by his wife Georgia as well as their daughters Paulette Sutter of White Oak and Trisha (Thomas) OBrien of West Mifflin. Paul is further survived by his brother Raymond Vavra of Clairton and his sister Barbara Jean Habjanitz of Glassport. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cameron, Erin, Sydney, and Shauna, as well as nieces and nephews. Paul also leaves behind his beloved pug Trixie. Paul was preceded in death by his brothers Albert and James, and his sisters Patty, Mary Jane, and Joanne. He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Paul worked at U.S. Steel in Homestead in the motor room for 20 years, at Scalise Industries, and as an electrician. He was also a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Duquesne. Paul enjoyed meticulously organizing his garage and building cars. This love of cars resulted in an avid interest in racecars and racing at Keystone. She was the wife of the late Edward Leonard "Spike" Allen who passed away February 28, 2011. She worked as an office manger for over 30 years for Dr. David Jacobs and later Dr. Charles Levowitz.  She enjoyed ceramics, cryptograms and word searches. She had a passion for shopping especially in the local malls. Norma also enjoyed yard work, gardening and opera music. She also liked to feed birds.

Anthony F. Procacina, Sr., age 82, resident of McKeesport and Herminie, passed away Monday, November 29,2021 in ProMedica (HCR Manor Care) in Monroeville. Anthony was born, January 12, 1939 in Duquesne, he was the son of the late John A. and Anna L. Gugliardo-Suncine Procacina.

Prior to his retirement he was a foreman having worked for US Steel Duquesne Works for many years. Anthony was a member of St. Edward’s Church in Herminie. He was an outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. Anthony will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He was a kind and fun loving soul that loved his family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Savage; mother of Mary Ann Hartman of West Mifflin, Rose Savage of Dravosburg, Theodore (Beth) Savage of Dravosburg, and Theresa “Terri” Savage (spouse Elena Detoma) of West Mifflin; grandmother of Christine Hartman, Kim Hartman, Ben (Nicole) Savage, Meg Savage and Tim (Kersti) Savage; great grandmother of Nolan Savage, Josie Savage and Emily Porter; sister of Carl (Joan) Pacacha of Michigan, Edward (late Vern) Pacacha of Munhall and predeceased by Irene Pacacha, Josephine Debiak, Regina Sudzina, Patricia Kampert, Walter Pacacha, Steve Pacacha, Sylvester Pacacha, Norbert Pacacha and Frank Pacacha; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joanne Elizabeth Topoleski, 100, of Glassport, passed away into the Lord's hands on Monday, November 29, 2021 at home. She was born August 24, 1921 in The South Side of Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine (Steliga) Stasik. She was the wife of her dearly loved husband, the late Edward Joseph Topoleski, Sr.  She was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish- Queen of the Rosary Site. She came to Glassport as a young bride and met many wonderful friends and neighbors with whom she shared her life. Her family will remember her legacy for making the holidays memorable, especially on Christmas Eve with "Oplatek" wishes before enjoying traditional polish food and the Easter meal, which always included the Blessed "Baranek" cake shaped like a lamb.  Joanne enjoyed a ministry of sending cards to children and the elderly. Likewise her favorite volunteer activities centered around children especially at St. Joseph's School in Port Vue and the Elderly, especially at Kane Regional Hospital in McKeesport.

An Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War, he retired after 22 years as a military policeman for United States Air Force. He was a member of the Glassport VFW. Born June 7, 1937 in Floreffe, he was a son of the late Howard J. Smith Sr. and the late Viola (Kibe) Smith and husband of the late Ruth E. Smith. He is survived by daughter, Cheri M. Smith-Dworek of Elizabeth; son, Dean (Kathy) Smith of Glassport; granddaughter, Courtney (Bill Cush) Smith of Munhall; sister and brothers, Roxanne, Kenny, Gary, Wayne and Dale; also, nieces and nephews. Eugene S. Skerkoski, 80, of Glassport died peacefully surrounded by his family on Nov. 30, 2021.  He is the son of the late Frank and Vera (Hadam) Skerkoski.  He is survived by his beloved wife Celine (Gniefkoski) Skerkoski; daughters Becky (Michael) Fallert and Lori (Douglas) Kanell; son Eugene (Stacey) Skerkoski; grandchildren Samantha (Joshua) Kutscher, Veronica Fallert, Cynthia Fallert, Chloe Skerkoski, Matthew Kanell, Colton Skerkoski, Caden Skerkoski and Michael Fallert and sister Loretta (the late Nick) Dabruzzo.  He was preceded in death by his brother Frank Skerkoski.  He was fondly known by many as "Mutcy".  He was a retired police chief for the Borough of Glassport; a lifetime member of Citizens Hose Co. #1; a member of the PNA; member of Town Council for many years and a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish.  He also served in the US Army.  Mutcy was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.  He enjoyed his family and always put them first.  A funeral mass will be held Sat. at 9:30 am at Queen of the Rosary Church.  Funeral arrangements by Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport.

Pauline Derhofer Nagy, 94, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021. She was born April 17, 1927 in Duquesne, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Sveda) Lashkevich. Prior to her retirement, Pauline was a secretary for CCAC, a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and AARP North Huntingdon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Derhofer and second husband, Albert Nagy; son, Richard A. Derhofer; and sister, Mae Anischenko. She is survived by her daughter, Carol A. DeFelice and her husband, Louis; brothers, Philip and Paul Anischenko; and granddaughter, Angela DeFelice. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA.
