Lan Thi Trinh, 67, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.  She was born August 18, 1953 in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, a daughter of the late Thanh Trinh and Cau Thi Nguyen.  Lan was a nail technician for Tom Nails in North Versailles.  She is survived by her husband, Than Tran; daughters, Thanh Thao Dinh, Thuy Hang Trinh Tran, Thuy Nga Trinh Tran; brothers, Ngoc Dinh Trinh, Trung Dinh Trinh; sisters, Khan Thi Trinh, Dao Thi Trinh, Hong Thi Trinh; grandchildren, Leyna Dinh, Phuong Anh Pham, Quang Vinh Nguyen, Anh Khoa Pham.  Family and friends will be received for prayer on Tuesday, February 23 at 7 p.m. in the James W. Phuong An Trinh Tran, 30, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.  She was born November 23, 1990 in Saigon, Vietnam, a daughter of Than Tran and the late Lan Thi Trinh.  Phuong An was a nail technician for Sky Nails Spa in Harrison City.  She is survived by her sisters, Thanh Thao Dinh, Thuy Hang Trinh Tran and Thuy Nga Trinh Tran.  Family and friends will be received for prayer on Tuesday, February 23 at 7 p.m. at the James W. Lawrence Gray Maple, 92 of Clairton passed away Sunday, February 14th, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born in Bunola, PA on May 8th, 1928 to the late Lawrence D. and Edna Georgina McCay Maple. Lawrence Gray Maple was the loving husband of 71 years to Gloria Maple. He is survived by his children Larry (Karen) Maple of Finleyville, Ginger Begg of Saint Cloud Florida, Gail (Phillip) Marshman of Pleasant Hills, Janet (Dan) Klingensmith of Clairton, 11 grandchildren Alisha Van Bibber, John Maple, Sky Begg, Jordan Begg, Dallas Begg, Chandler Begg, Brittany Hugley, Emily Lander, Conor Marshman Joshua Klingensmith, and Kasey Wright followed by 10 great-grandchildren. Lawrence was preceded in death by his son-in-law Schylur Begg. He was a member of the U.S. Navy and he ministered at and was a member of the Clairton congregation of Jehovah’s witnesses, since 1950. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and singing with family. Lawrence loved looking at all the beauty of Gods creations, he got to know the trees, birds, and flowers. He also enjoyed discussing the bible with others and he looked forward to Gods promise of living on a paradise earth in the future. Arrangements have been entrusted to S.M. Dorothy A. Fehr, age 100, of Zelienople, formerly of McKeesport and White Oak, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community, where she had been a resident for many years.

Born July 13, 1920 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nancy Angeline Jones.

Dorothy married the late Harry Glenn Fehr on October 22, 1942, and shared 66 years of marriage until his passing on March 12, 2009.

She was the mother of David Fehr of Sequim, WA, Douglas (Susan) Fehr of Wexford, PA, and the late Dr. Elaine (Leonard) Waters of Bradenton, FL; the grandmother of Jason (Susan) Fehr, Eric (Amy) Fehr, Justin Fehr, David Waters, Dr. Jenni Waters and Dr. Amy Waters; and great-grandmother of Madison, Jackson, Ansley, Theo, and Stella Fehr, and Jonah and Braeden Waters.

Donald “Don” F. Ditter, age 85, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born May 31, 1935 in McKeesport, a son of the late Fredrick and Mildred Ditter. He was an Air Force veteran that went onto work his entire career as a welder for U.S. Steel before retiring. He had a passion for coaching NCAA midget Football and supporting his daughter’s swimming teams. He also enjoyed spending Wednesday nights watching his son and friends bowl and would never miss one of his granddaughter's softball games.

Robert N. Becker, 90, a resident of Redstone Highlands, formerly of Irwin, passed away Wednesday February 10, 2021. He was born November 2, 1930 in Irwin, the son of the late Carl N. and Anna J. (Lomicka) Becker. Bob was a graduate of Irwin High School, served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, and then graduated from Carnegie Tech where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management. He retired from Westinghouse Electric Corporation, RIDC Park West, after spending many years at the company’s East Pittsburgh location. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin. Bob was past master of Shidle Lodge No 601, F&AM, Irwin, and a member of the Bromas league. He also was a member of the Pittsburgh Syria Shrine, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Westmoreland Forest #77, and Knights Templar. He was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels for 20 years, volunteer ambulance driver for Rescue 14, and was past president of Westinghouse Fellowship. He enjoyed golf, playing cards with friends and family, particularly bridge, pinochle and poker, and very much enjoyed vacations at Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland with his family, which he attended annually for decades.

Lois (Kuskie) Basch, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with her heavenly savior on February 15th, 2021. She graduated from Clairton High School in 1945. She attended Duff’s Business School and worked as a proofreader for the Daily News of McKeesport. She was married to the love of her life, Edward Basch for almost 47 years before his passing. Lois and Eddie lived and raised their family in Jefferson Hills. They were both active members of Pine Run Methodist Church in Clairton, PA where they served as lay speakers and beloved church members. Lois lived a very full life, keeping her true passions of her faith in the lord and her family and friends at the forefront. She had a gift for writing poetry, which was grounded in faith and loved to write for those dear to her heart. Card playing, games, and sports- especially fishing were lifelong pastimes. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan who loved the Pitt Panthers, Steelers, and Pirates. Lois is preceded in passing by her parents, Irene and Harry Kuskie, her sisters, Mildred Basch and Dorothy Freiwald, and her beloved husband, Edward Basch. She is survived by her three daughters Patty, Cindy, Chris, five grandchildren, as well as her three great grandchildren. Services have been entrusted to S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N 6th St., Clairton, PA 15025.  Friends and family will be received at Pine Run Methodist Church on Thursday February 18th, 2021 at 9am to 11am. Service at 11am for Lois’ memorial service (masks required). A private graveside service will immediately follow at Lebanon Church Cemetery (immediate family only). Gene Joseph Dandrea passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born in McKeesport on January 5, 1928 to the late Biagio Dandrea and Angelina Spaccassassi. Gene is survived by his loving wife Melva (Evkovich) Dandrea of 65 years at home.

He is also survived by his daughter Jody (Ronald) Kotun of Champion, PA, and Tierra Verde, FL, and Gene David (Abby) Dandrea of Murrysville, PA.

Grandchildren include Kellie Lewis of McKeesport, and her children, Sheldon and Schyler Chancio; Nicholas (Danielle) Lewis of North Huntingdon, and their children, Lucas Lewis, Lilly Holtzman, Lia Holtzman, and Zachary Holtzman; Richard Young, Frank Young, and Matthew Young of Hempfield Township; Carrie (Craig) Caterino of Plum Boro; Andrew (Katie) Rodriguez of Delmont, and their children, Harper and Carson; and Mario Dandrea of Murrysville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mary (Smolinsky) Belback, age 101, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on February 13, 2021, at Walden’s View of North Huntingdon. Born in McKeesport on November 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Wasyl & Anna (Misczycha) Smolinsky.  Mary worked at Christy Park Works during World War II and later in the Accounts Receivable Department as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church, McKeesport, where she volunteered as a “pirohi lady.”  Mary, with her late husband, Henry, lovingly enjoyed many family social events. Their travels and vacations left them with many fond memories. Her passion was bingo and casinos were a close second. A lucky lady she was. She was the wife of the late Henry A. Belback for 65 years; sister of late Leona (late Erfan) Shevke, late Olive (late John) Benyak, Genevieve (late Andrew) Yuna of North Versailles, Pearl “Billie” (late Joseph) Rolnik of White Oak, late Stanley Smolnicky, late Michael Smolinsky and late Jean Konias. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jean S. Kmetz, Stan Smolnicky, Lee Stebick, Joanne Wakefield, Maryann Zoscak, Janice Rolnik, Diane Seltzer (her godchild), Mary McDonald and many great nieces and nephews.

Louise Ann (Larkin) Rutherford, age 73, of Monroeville, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2021, of dementia. Born April 29, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William A. and Barbara (Kough) Larkin.
Louise graduated from Uniontown High School in 1965, moved to Pittsburgh, and became a registered nurse (RN, then BSN from Duquesne University). She worked as a nurse for over four decades and cared for her patients (many of them higher needs children) like family. She remained close to her children and grandchildren, even when miles apart.
