Yolanda R. “Linda” Kapalo, of West Mifflin, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Jefferson Regional Hospital. Born in Monongahela on July 1, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (DiMareno) Dorazio.
She is a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Joseph Church. She and her husband were the founders and former owners of Yolanda’s Pizza in West Mifflin. She volunteered at Jefferson Hospital in the Pastoral Department, was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and former member of St. Jospeh Parish Council, Eucharistic Minister and volunteered at their fish fry’s. She was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Guild, Treasurer of the former St. Vincent DePaul Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas- Court Duquesne #871, former West Mifflin Annex Senior Citizens and Duquesne Council of Senior Citizens.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Kapalo; mother of Diane (Jerry) McDaniel of Black Lick, Ohio, Joseph of Lincoln Place, Robert of West Mifflin, Martin (Anita) of West Mifflin; grandmother of J.J. (Beth) McDaniel, Joey (Tim) Kapalo Allen, Matt Kapalo, Katelyn, Mallory and Hannah Kapalo; great grandchildren, David and Rosemary McDaniel; sister of the late Mike Dorazio, Teresa Pietroboni, Rose Marie Hilty and John Dorazio.

Ronald J. Funk, 85, of White Oak, formerly of West Mifflin, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. A retired electrician from U.S. Steel, Clairton Works, he began his career at the Homestead Works and later worked at the former Graphic Controls in Wilmerding. Following his retirement, he did electrical work and consulting at Astley Precision in Irwin, and was always available to help friends and people in the community with their electrical needs. He was a 1956 graduate of Duquesne High School, and member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph Church in Duquesne.
Born in Duquesne, June 6, 1938, he was a son of the late Jerome and Agnes (Manns) Funk, and beloved husband of 63 years of the late Patricia (Dancak) Funk, who died July 15, 2023. He is the father of Thomas (Kirsten Pastrick) Funk of North Huntingdon, Diane (Peter) Mills of Naples, FL, and the late Cindy Funk Bates who died Dec. 4, 2021; grandfather of Jim (Tiffany) Bates of Grindstone, Amie (Kevin) Mills Odom of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Claire (Blake) Mills Mulholland of Cape Coral, FL; and great grandfather of Sophia Mae Bates and Olivia Mulholland. He also is survived by sister-in-law, Alberta "Bertie" (late Rich) Webb of West Mifflin, formerly of Duquesne; nephews; great nieces and nephews; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, David (late Barbara) Funk. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful, compassionate care and loving efforts of his caregivers, especially Linda, Flo and Alyssa.
Ron was a wealth of knowledge and was eager to share that knowledge and other stories with anyone who would listen. He and Pat traveled to many areas of the country, enjoyed trips to the beach and camping when the family was young, and he loved fishing with his son and grandson during trips to Rice Lake and other fishing holes.

Lorraine M. Pawling, age 87, of Duquesne, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at her home. Born in Pittsburgh on December 29, 1935, she was the daughter of late Joseph and Anna (Munich) Gonzales. She retired, after 35 years, as a custodian for the Duquesne City School District. She also worked for 14 years for Nutrition Inc. She enjoyed crossword puzzle books, went to HOBO conventions, was a former member of the MOOSE and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her favorite person in the world was her grandchild, Cierra Lee Blue. John M. “Jack” Znavor, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Whitaker, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at home. James Lee Cline, age 66, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully, at home, on August 1, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. James, affectionately known as “C-Mo” to his many friends, was born to Walter P. and Ruth E. (Mullen) Cline, on March 13, 1957, in Homestead, PA. He graduated from West Mifflin Area North High School in 1976, where he was a member of the wrestling team. Jamie was inducted into the West Mifflin Sports Hall of Fame in 2023 in recognition of his contribution to the team’s 1973 undefeated season. Jamie worked in the construction field for over 40 years and retired in 2019 from Allegheny Construction Company, where he served as construction superintendent.
“C-Mo” was a loving father and faithful friend. He was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a passion for cooking (especially grilling), entertaining, telling jokes, spending time at camp on the Mon River and riding his motorcycle.
James is survived by his loving and devoted partner, Trudy Wujcik; three children, Kayla, Colin and Maiti Cline and their mother, Laurie (Gabrielcik) Cline; siblings, Thelma Archer, Timothy Cline, Maggie Lockovich and Mark Cline; 9 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ruth Cline; a stepmother, Germaine Cline; and siblings Walter (Butch) Cline, Michael Cline and Mary Cline.
Family and friends will be received at St. Agnes Church, 653 St. Agnes Lane, West Mifflin, on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 12-1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at the Church.
