Michael Bereznak, 92, of West Mifflin, peacefully at home on Monday June 20, 2016. Born July 18, 1923, in Matovce, Slovakia, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Makita) Bereznak. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, and a retired Dispatcher for the Port Authority of Allegheny County. Mr. Bereznak was a proud Veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in World War II.

"Flash" Gregory Shields, 53, of Duquesne, Died peacefully at home, on Sunday, June 5, 2016. Born in McKeesport, September 26, 1962, he was the son of the late George and Pauline (Hrizo) Shields. Flash was an employee of Kiczan Manufacturing in North Versailles. Flash was the husband of the late Cathy "Poss" Shields. He is survived by two brothers; John and Bruce Shields, a sister; Toni Vranick, Aunts, Nieces and Nephews and a very special friend; Shannon. Besides his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by a brother; Steven Shields.
Family and friends will be received from 3-9P.M. on Thursday June 9, 2016 in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford and Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne, Pa. 15110.

John Holuka, 95, formerly of Duquesne, died peacefully, Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in Locust Grove Personal Care, West Mifflin. Born April 23, 1920, in Aliquippa, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Simon) Holuka. A retired employee of U S Steel Edgar Thompson Works. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, VFW Post 188 and a proud WWII veteran of the 8th Army Air Corps.

Elmer Novak, 84, formerly of Duquesne, died Friday April 1, 2016. Born June 7, 1931, in Cicava, Slovakia he was the son of the late John and Anna Kovach Novak. Mr. Novak was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel and a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne. Beloved husband of the late Anna Kovac Novak, he is survived by two sons, Tim (Linda) Novak of Fayetteville, NC., and Paul (Mary Beth) Novak of Whitehall; a daughter, Shirley Weitzel of Reynoldsville, two brothers, Cyril Novak of RI, and Andrew Sandor of CA; a sister, Mary Ann Klaczak of MD, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by a son, Elmer Steven Novak.
