He graduated from Hurst High School and was a sergeant in the Marines before his employment with Westinghouse. He enjoyed hunting and competitive shooting. He attended Norwin Christian Church. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and Irwin Sportsmen’s Association, and belonged to various other 2nd Amendment organizations.
