Rossina Diane Nelson, a beacon of light and bright spirit, lived an incredible life until she went on to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Rossina was born to the late Myrna and Monroe Donaldson on November 21, 1957.
Along her journey, she wore many titles: daughter, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, and friend, but nothing compared to her favorite of them all, a proud mother to her two loving sons, Harlan Eugene Tobe, Jr. and Jordan Keith Wood. Rossina was previously married to the late Harlan E. Tobe, Sr, and Harold Nelson. Sr.
At the age of nine, Rossina was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church alongside her lifelong best friend Patti, where they grew up in Crestas Terrace. She graduated in 1975 from East Allegheny Senior High School and attended Boyce Park Community College. Rossina retired from Access Transportation. She was also a committed member of Narcotics Anonymous for over 25 years; she served as a speaker and strong advocate for those around her. Rossina helped many people, changing many lives for the better and building countless friendships along the way. She never missed a meeting. Rossina was known as “Cool Ross,” which spoke volumes about her personality. She was very kind and fun-loving to all; surely, she was a diva. From the surprise birthday parties for her brother Billy at 424 East Carter Drive to the Crestas Fire Hall and West Cater Street dance with all her family and friends, she was the life of the party, not to mention the best dressed! She matched her clothes from head to toe and her jewelry and shoes always matched too. I’m telling you, she must have had an enormous closet because she loved to dress! Her style matched her personality, colorful and full of life.
