Louis took a leap of faith when he traveled across continents from Italy to the United States to unite with his wife, Catherine. Their love story blossomed through heartfelt letters exchanged over oceans until they finally tied the knot on July 5, 1958, in a union that flourished for over 65 years.

Richard A. Perhats, age 86, of Port Vue, formerly of Duquesne died June 15, 2024. Born March 23, 1938, in Bellvue, he was a son of the late Helen (Perhats) Ondike, and the husband of the late Margaret J. Perhats, for 54 years.
Richard worked for over 30 years for Long's Hauling Company and was a member of St. Eugene Church - St. Joachim and Anne Parish. In his later years, Richard found a passion for buying and selling at the flea market, and also collecting coins and different antiques. He also enjoyed spending time at the beach, fishing, gardening, reading the newspaper and cherished walking his loyal pet dog, Corkey.

Edward O. Jones, 75, of Port Vue died May 23, 2024, at his home. Born October 10, 1948, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Edward and Virginia (Branick) Jones, and the husband of the late Rebecca (Conlogue) Jones.
Edward served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was active with the Port Vue American Legion, Post 477 where he proudly served as a member of the Honor Guard, according military honors to deceased veterans. He worked for many years and retired from Bechtel Bettis, Inc.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sidney R. Pope, a cherished member of the McKeesport community. Born on December 26, 1938, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Thomas and Bertha (Walbaum) Pope and the husband of the late Janice Marie (Galeza) Pope.
Sidney dedicated his life to serving others through his work at United States Steel and PAKCO, as a bricklayer. He also worked at First Student, where he found joy in caring for children and offering them valuable life advice.
As a proud Army veteran who served in Germany during the Vietnam War, Sidney embodied a strong sense of duty and honor. His commitment to his country was matched only by his dedication to his family and community. Sidney was deeply involved with the McKeesport Baseball Association, where he enjoyed mentoring young players and instilling in them the values of teamwork and perseverance.

William E. Walicura, age 87, of McKeesport, died May 4, 2024, at Concordia at Cabot. Born June 20, 1936, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Veronick) Walicura.
William served in the Navy and was an inspector at Christy Park Works. He relished the thrill of watching horse racing at the Meadow's, with a particular fondness for the Kentucky Derby which was running the day he passed. An avid golfer, he found joy in watching golf tournaments on TV and football games, immersing himself in the excitement of the sport.

Robert J. Brown, age 29, of McKeesport, died on April 5, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born September 17, 1994, in McKeesport, he was the son of Gordon Brown and Florence Kearney.
Robert found peace in the simple pleasures of life. He was often seen walking along the bike trail by the river or kayaking with friends at Ohiopyle. His love for the Penguins was unwavering, and he cherished the moment when he received signed memorabilia from his favorite player, Sidney Crosby. He was also an avid Steelers fan who never missed a game and a cherished memory of his was attending a game and waving his terrible towel.
Robert's warm smile and gentle nature touched the hearts of those around him. His friends will fondly remember the times spent cheering on their favorite team or exploring the great outdoors together. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Robert is survived by a brother, Gary Brown; an aunt, Tanya Marsh; grandmother, Katie Kearney and his beloved cat, Calvin. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Kearney.
