Helen J. (Donato) Tozzi, 90, of White Oak, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020. She was born April 6, 1930 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (DiMonaco) Donato. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God - St. Patrick Parish in Christy Park. Helen was Founder of the McKeesport Majorette Drum and Bugle Corps. William Edward “Bud” Kuskie, II, age 80, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital. He was a retired technician and mechanic with United Airlines, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of Round Hill Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth Township. He loved refurbishing vintage cars and attending various car shows. He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding all his woodland creatures and traveling. Born June 5, 1940 in Clairton, he was a son of the late William E. Kuskie, Sr. and Louise A. (Sides) Kuskie. He is survived by a daughter, Michele L. Kuskie of Elizabeth Township; son, Edward W. (Diane) Kuskie of Elizabeth Township; grandson, Jonah (Shanna) Orion of Oceanside, CA, currently serving in Okinawa, Japan; sister, Christine (Jim Durst) Kuskie of Jeannette; his grand dog, Buddy; also, nieces, nephews, close buddies and friends. There will be a Memorial Service on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 12 Noon in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home Chapel, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth. Mary Shatlock, age 97 of Greenock, passed away at home on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Born May 5, 1923 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Katherine (Shaughnessy) Kane. A graduate of the former St. Mercy College (now Carlow College) in Pittsburgh, Mary retired as a music teacher from both St. Peter's High School and Serra High School. A member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, she was also a member of the McKeesport College Club and very active at the former St. Denis Parish, where she was choir director, and was also the organist at St. Patrick's Church for many years. Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Vincent Charles Shatlock, who passed away October 26, 1986, and her sister Lois A. Kane. She is survived by her daughter Mary Lois Oermann of Greenock; her sons Vincent John Shatlock of Orlando, FL, Michael Paul Shatlock of Greenock, and Mark Francis Shatlock of Greenock; her five grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren; her brother John J. Kane, Jr. of Fairfax, VA; and also nieces and nephews.

Patricia (Puzder) Mariani, age 82, of North Versailles Twp., passed on June 25, for a joyful heavenly reunion with her daughters, Gina Ann and Diana Mariani, and granddaughter, Gina Marie Mariani.
She dedicated her life to her faith and love for others, showing kindness and selflessness to all who knew her. While raising her four children, she pursued undergraduate and master’s teaching degrees and went on to share a love of learning and reading with generations of students at St. Aloysius, St. Robert Bellarmine and St. Bede Catholic Schools.
She was the rock and center of her family, demonstrating strength and courage throughout her life, even to her final moments. She loved to travel, read, swim, socialize, and most of all spend time with her family, especially many trips to the beach and Christmas celebrations.

Ethel M. Yanowitch, 96, of North Braddock, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Westmoreland Manor. She was born July 27, 1923 in Brentwood, a daughter of the late Melvin and Sophie Klink. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church, East Pittsburgh where she served on the Altar Society and loved to sing in the choir. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary for North Braddock Fire Department, 1st Ward, and loved to dress up for the ladies auxiliary and the children's Halloween and Christmas parties. She loved visiting the Atlantic City casinos with the ladies bus tours. She loved writing poems and songs and loved going for long rides in the country. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family, but most of all her passion was singing.

Frances M. Germek, age 102 of Buford, GA and formerly of Port Vue, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Born December 28, 1917 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Casimir and Mary F. (Boczar) Pomycala. A member of St. Mark's Parish in Port Vue (the former St. Joseph’s Church), where she was a member of the Christian Mother’s Association, Frances volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Senior Center. During World War II, she was employed by Westinghouse. Frances enjoyed family gatherings, crocheting, bowling, playing cards, pool and Bingo. She was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and watched every game. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Andrew P. Germek, who passed away April 14, 2000; her siblings: Bertha Pomycala, Florence Puhala, Jean Trocksa, Alice Cindric, Patricia Rushe, and John and Stanley Pomycala; her sisters-in-law, Loretta, Shirley and Esther Pomycala; her brother-in-laws William Roper, John Puhala, Tony Trocksa, Matt Cindric, and Milan Puskaric; and her nephew, David Puskaric. Frances is survived by her children Richard (Pat) Germek of Spring Hill, TN and Carole (Bruce) Zavitz of Buford, GA; her six grandchildren; her thirteen great-grandchildren; her siblings: Rita Puskaric and Raymond (Louise) and Richard (Sandy) Pomycala; and many nieces and nephews.

Ted Daniel Drahusz, 50, of Rock Hill, SC went home to our Lord on June 22, 2020. Ted was born on June 4, 1970, in McKeesport, PA to Linda and George Drahusz, Jr. Ted spent his formative years in North Huntingdon, PA attending St. Agnes grade school. As a youth, Ted cultivated a love for the outdoors and was heavily involved in the Boys Scouts, Troop 293, attaining the rank of Star Scout. Some of his fondest childhood memories were in the scouts at Cubby's cabin in the fall, and Camp Conestoga in the summers. He closed out his formative years graduating from Norwin Senior High in 1989.Ted proudly served a total of 15 years in the military. He was part of the 28th Infantry Division in the PA Army National Guard for many years before transferring to the NY Army National Guard and later onto the Army National Guard in Hickory, North Carolina. After 9/11, Ted and his division were sent to guard parts of New York City and Long Island. He ended his military career as a sergeant. During this time, Ted spent close to 20 years working for Sherwin Williams at various positions and locations. Looking for a change, Ted relocated to the South to study medical imaging equipment technology at ECPI College of Technology in Charlotte, NC. He was a Test Technician at International Medical Equipment and Service. Through all this, Ted was a devoted father who enjoyed time outdoors hiking and fishing with his children. Ted’s passion for life was evident. Ted earned a second-degree black belt in Seidokan, Okinawan martial arts. Additionally, he spent time hiking, fishing, reading, and most recently joined an ax-throwing club. Ted is survived by his two sons Brandon and George who were his pride and joy, as well as his stepdaughter Adriana Restrepo, and his stepson Jason Restrepo. In addition, he is survived by his mother Linda (Tyson) Drahusz and George Drahusz, Jr. Ted also leaves behind three brothers, George R. Drahusz (Michelle Drahusz) of Delaware, Daniel V. Drahusz (Stacey Drahusz) of Massachusetts, and Joseph J. Drahusz (Shelley Drahusz) of Pennsylvania, as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ted is also survived by the mother of his children and friend, Martha Roa. Also, Ted recently found new love and leaves behind his girlfriend, Nubia Ana Guzman. Ted will be remembered for his dedication to his children, his good-natured and easy-going spirit, great sense of humor and laugh, and his patience. He was the type of person that would do anything for you and that's what he did all of his days that we were blessed to have him.
