Rosella Irene Fichera, age 100, of Elizabeth, formerly of West Mifflin, died March 1, 2019, at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. Born June 22, 1918, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Stella (Sabella) Giganti and the wife of the late Thomas S. Fichera.

Irene H. Miller, 92, of Glassport died Sunday March 2, 2019. She is the daughter of the late Alexander and Constance (Powichrowski) Matusky. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George Miller and sister Genevieve Adams. She is survived by her son Kevin Miller and many nieces and nephews. Irene was a retired bank teller, was member of Queen of the Rosary Parish where she worked for many years and was also a member of the choir, and a member of the Glassport Senior Citizen's Center. He was a retired coke department clerk at U.S. Steel Clairton Works and a former union grievance steward. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed collecting antiques, woodworking, drinking coffee, watching Rocky and Rambo movies, and spending time with family and his grandkids.

James Albert Laverick, age 70 of Port Vue passed away peacefully Thursday evening, February 28, 2019 at McKeesport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 20, 1948, the son of the late Blaine Gillespie Laverick and Grace Ellen Trainer. He was a long-time resident of the Clairton area and a 1966 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Ronald Edward, Margaret “Peg” Elizabeth McIntosh, Larry Blaine, Patricia “Patty” Arlene, and Harold “Butch” Clifford.

Carolyn Jean (Wiland) Mihaljevic, beloved wife of the late Joseph Edward Mihaljevic, went home to the Lord February 27, 2019.  She was a resident of Fairport, New York, spent her winters in Jensen Beach, Florida and formerly a long-time resident of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.   Born May 4, 1933, she was the loving daughter of the late Dorothy Pearl (Morris) Wiland and Norman Russell Wiland and sister of the late Donald Wayne Wiland.  Carolyn is survived by her loving children Joseph (Michele) Mihaljevic, Linda (Michael) Bogesdorfer, Kathy (Andy) Mosso, Richard (Lorrie) Mihaljevic, Thomas (Mary) Mihaljevic, and James (Elizabeth) Mihaljevic; also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Carolyn lived a full life as a wonderful, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her most prized possession was her family and loved travelling for visits, handing down cooking recipes and lessons to create a treasure chest of memories. In her spare time she loved to crochet, cook, travel, read and do puzzles.

She was an active participant at the Perinton Senior Recreation Center exercise programs, crochet club and senior choir. Carolyn was a member of the Church of the Assumption Catholic Church in Fairport, NY where she participated in the Sunday breakfast club, and the card ministry - writing cards to those in need of words of encouragement. 

Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Sun., March 10, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral blessing will be held Mon., March 11, 2019 10:30 am in the funeral home with Father Tom Lewandowski.  Interment following St. Joseph Cemetery.

Lou Ann Leech, age 58, of White Oak, died Sunday, February 3, 2019. She was born in McKeesport on March 20, 1960 and is the daughter of Jack Leech of White Oak and the late Patricia Leighty Leech. She was a manager for many years at the former Bettis Lounge.

In addition to her father, Lou Ann is survived by sisters, Linda (Edward) Raimondi of Munhall; Kimberly (Timothy) Toth of Munhall; nieces, Casey Howie of Dravosburg; Erin (Rob) Zotti of Long Island, NJ; nephews, Frank Muir of Austin, TX; Ryan (Heather) Leech of North Huntingdon; great nieces, Jaiden and Payten. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lenny (Melanie) Leech.

He was a member and past fire chief of the Greenock Fire Co. and was a WWII US Navy Veteran.  Darrel was retired from US Steel Duquesne Works and had previously worked for the former Watson Paint and Glass in McKeesport,  and also with the former Gilbert and Son in the construction of the Greenock United Methodist Church.

Marshall M. Fiore, age 91 of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2019 at Grandview Estates in Elizabeth Twp.  Born September 18, 1927 in Forward Twp., he was a son of the late Ralph and Julia (Marco) Fiore.  Marshall was the owner and operator of Fiore Development and E & M Development Companies.  He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish and a US Army veteran serving as an MP during World War II.  He was also a charter member of 885 Fire Station, a Jefferson Borough councilman for 16 years, a member of the Clairton Sportsman Club for 50 years, an usher at St. Paulinus, St. Joseph, and St. Clare of Assisi for 30 years, and a member of the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post 75 in Clairton. Marshall was an avid hunter and a great cook who loved to make pies for his family and friends, was known for making Flitnies (fried bread dough), and was a devoted husband and loving father.
