Kimberly M. Kiraly, age 70 of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, died Friday, August 11, 2017. She was born in McKeesport on April 24, 1947, the daughter of the late John J. and Betty Yotter Stanich. Edward J. Bolga, age 82 of North Huntingdon, died August 18, 2017 at Transitions Healthcare. Born June 9, 1935 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Cservenyak) Bolga and the beloved husband of Sylvia (Cernava) Bolga for 33 years. Ed was an Air Force Veteran, and while in the service, he was a jet engine mechanic. After serving for over 4 years in the military, he was honorably discharged and took up the trade of carpentry. He loved his trains, garden, and polka dancing. In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by brother, James (Jean) Bolga; sister, Margie (Michael) Stefanko; brother-in-law, Tom Madden; nieces and a nephew, Jeannie Sonnenberg, Kathy (Michael) Osiecki and Michael (Missy) Madden; great nieces and great nephews, Samantha, Sierra , Malone, and Macklen. He was preceded in death by his first wife Kay Fleming and a sister, Maryann Madden. Karen (Sheilds) Knight, age 62 of Augusta, GA, formerly of McKeesport, died August 17, 2017 at home in Georgia. Born January 16, 1955 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Gertrude (Miller) Sheilds and wife of Jarvis C. Knight, Sr. Karen worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Briarcliff Nursing Home and then went on to raise her children and grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren dearly. In addition her husband, she is survived by children, Billie Jo Eastman, Eric (Danielle) Demeri, and Ruth; grandchildren, Nick, Chelsea, Melissa, Derek, Eric, Butters, Ian, Owen, and Eli; siblings, William, Mary Ellen, Bethany, and Timothy. Throughout her life, Norma (Mean-Jean) enjoyed every life milestone to the fullest. She enjoyed scratch off tickets and playing her daily numbers. She loved music and played the piano, and was a member of the Tennis Team in high school. Along with gardening, sewing, baking, swimming (floating in her pool), dancing, and ‘marching’, she was a long time marching aide and assistant with the McKeesport Majorette Drill Team, Drum and Bugle Corps, from 1965 to 1987. She also enjoyed several activities all involving her children and grandchildren, including being a Den Mother for Boy Scouts of America. She proudly wore her McKeesport Tiger Attire to all band tournaments and parades and would always say “Once a Tiger always a Tiger. Mercedes G. Stanley Wilson, 89, of Elizabeth Township, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017. She was born on February 7, 1928 in Clairton and was the daughter of the late John F. and Verda Mae Stilley Schultz. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Stanley who died October 23, 1974 and the late Seth C. Wilson who died April 8, 2017. She worked for over 28 years as a supervisor in the filing department at Equibank in Pittsburgh. Mercedes was a Deacon and Clerk of Session at Round Hill Presbyterian Church and was also a member of Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens, Meals on Wheels, the Survivors group and was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts. She is survived by her son, Frank A. Marilyn Wisbar Kurutz, 67, of Duquesne, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at her home after a long battle with muscular dystrophy and heart disease.
She will be remembered for her spirit and sense of humor, her passion and dedication to do what was right. Despite being wheelchair-bound for the past 25 years, she carried a sunny disposition and an “I can beat this” attitude. She was often known as “the lady with butterflies on her wheelchair.”
Born in 1950 to Ed and Thelma Wisbar, she was a 1968 graduate of Duquesne High School. She attended Point Park College, where she studied accounting. She spent more than a decade working in the insurance industry and was a fashion model for Gateway Associated Photography.
She married Stephen (Ray) Kurutz in 1981 and the couple had one daughter, Daveen. She devoted her life to taking care of her family, as a stay-at-home mom and wife until 1999. Diagnosed in her 40s with mitochondrial myopathy and confined to a wheelchair, she didn’t let that stop her from working at Kennywood Park in security for four years. She was a Pittsburgh Penguins season ticket holder, where she enjoyed cheering for her fellow Lithuanian, Darius Kasparaitis.
Marilyn was a fighter and a lover. She loved her family and friends fiercely and had a deep love for animals. Dubbed the “downstairs mayor” of Duquesne, she successfully fought to get city hall made handicap accessible. She twice ran the city’s crime watch program, cultivating a large citizen’s group dedicated to helping keep the city she called home safe.
She fought and won numerous medical battles and was a breast cancer survivor.
She was preceeded in death by her parents and will meet her dogs Ginger, Jo Jo, Buffy, Lucky, Bee-Bee, Stanford and Jo Jo at the rainbow bridge. She is survived by her adoring husband, Ray; her loving daughter Daveen Kurutz, son-in-law Shawn McLaughlin, of Munhall; sister Susan Kobak (Jack) of Angola, Ind.; goddaughter Kara Kobak, of Los Angeles; sister-in-law Julia Laverne Moreman (Pat) of Greensburg; niece Kelly Moreman of Greensburg; nephews Donald Moreman (Tammy), of Connelsville and Patrick Moreman (Michelle) of Greensburg; a fur grandson, Crosby; a four-legged companion Girlie Girl; and numerous cousins.

George Eric "Unc" Lundberg, 49, of Liberty Borough, died Sunday, August 13, 2017. He was born October 11, 1967 in Portsmouth, VA, and was the son of Shirley A.
