Virginia attended Clarion University where she studied Library Science and English. She worked as a teacher, spending the greatest part of her career at St. Elizabeth Elementary School in Pleasant Hills. An avid reader, she devoted her retirement years to the Clairton Public Library, surrounded by her love of books. For more than 50 years, Virginia enjoyed playing cards with her card club group. She was known to be extremely kind, compassionate and funny.

He was the husband of the late Charlotte (Bryner) Kirshner who died July 9, 2016. Gary was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in White Oak and was a Fire Fighter for the City of McKeesport. He was a member of Turner's Gym and the American Legion. He is survived by his daughter, Susan G. (James) Caster of Avella, sons, Gary E. (Midori) Kirshner, Jr., of Oklahoma City, OK, and Milton W. Michael Anthony "Duke" Carlson, 72, of White Oak, died Thursday, July 19, 2018. He was born February 26, 1946 in Mineola, New York, and was the son of the late Bernard and Rose Marie (Lamberti) Carlson. Mike grew up in Port Washington (Long Island) New York and moved to Pittsburgh in 1969. He was a machinist for US Steel National Tube Works from 1970 to 1982 and in 1978 became proprietor of Carlson Tree Care, LLC. He never retired, and until recently was climbing trees and cutting firewood. Mike was a member of the Tree Care Industry Association. He is survived by his wife, Roxane Stewart, daughters, Kate  (Jason) Zavacky of White Oak and Kristin Carlson of Irwin. He is also survived by Corinna (Jason) Fox and their children, Mackenzie and Cooper Fox of New Jersey, and Christopher (Kevin Hsyeh) Gaal of California.  He was preceded in death by his son, Kirk Carlson.

She was a registered nurse caring for newborn infants at Magee and then at Excela Westmoreland before retiring. She attended St. Angela Merici Parish in White Oak and enjoyed attending the church bingo events. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert A. Dye. She is survived by her children Robert A. (Lori) Dye II of North Huntingdon and Susan L. Dye of Moon Twp.; grandchildren Emily, Joseph and Kristin; great grandchildren Ava and Greyson; and sister Hilda (Ronald) Krutz of Gibsonia.

Cheke, 85, of Clarion, formerly of West Mifflin, died July 18, 2018.  She is the daughter of the late William and Mary (Schuchert) Manns and beloved wife of the late William Cheke.  She is survived by her son Bill (Marlene) Cheke and daughter Lisa (Bob) Geer; grandchildren Elise (Josh) Williams, Bela (Erin) Webb, Malinda (Mitchell) Rearick, Josselin Geer, Robert Geer, Jr., Michael Geer, Jacob Geer and Gerry Geer; 16 great grandchildren; sisters Joan Naccarato and Bernice Monzak; also nieces and nephews.  Dolores was preceded in death by her son Dr. Laird Cheke.  Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Mon. 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral service will be held Tues. 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Karen Parsh.  Interment following St. Hedwig Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Fumiyo "Faye" Sikorski, 83, of Glassport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17th surrounded by her family.  She was born December 29th 1934 in Osaka, Japan. Fumiyo was the daughter of the late Genzaburo and Chiyoe Uchiki.She was the beloved wife for 62 years to her late husband Benedict Sikorski, loving Mother of Michael (Angie) Sikorski and Doctor Christopher (Barbara) Sikorski, proud Grandmother of Michael (Jennifer) and Gavin (Katie) Sikorski and Christopher and Elena Sikorski, and the very proud great grandmother of Chase and Camden who knew her as Grandma Faye. She is survived by her 2 sisters Taeko, Minako and a brother Tadayoshi, brother in law Joseph Sikorski and sister in law Armie Sikorski as well as many nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt Fumiyo. She was a member of the former St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Glassport and was a very active member of the Queen of the Rosary Church and just loved Father  Miroslaus Wojcicki. She always attended Sunday mass until she became ill. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Glassport Pa. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10am at the Queen of the Rosary Church 530 Michigan avenue Glassport Pa. by the Reverend Miroslaus Wojcicki.
