Constance J. Mehalik, age 69 of Hempfield Manor died on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Beloved daughter of the late George and Julia (Rastocan) Mehalik; cherished sister of Dolores (Ray) Roman, Gilbert (Sandy) Mehalik, Annamae (Mike) Mroziak, George (Mary Lou) Mehalik, Elizabeth (Bob) Torma, Paula (Rich) Owens and Richard (Kathy) Mehalik; and also several nieces and nephews. Kenneth L. Ukasik, 69 of Glassport, died May 24, 2017. He is the son of the late Walter and Helen Ukasik. Beloved husband of Roxie (Biddle) Ukasik; father of Marcie Biddle of Liberty Boro and Tracie Brown of Glassport; grandfather of Joey, Eric (who cared for his grandfather for many years and was by his side when he passed away), Roxanne and Tiffany; brother of Walter Ukasik of FL and Judy Scheetz of Liberty Boro; also 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Jessica. Ken served in the US Army Vietnam War. George E. Anderson, 88, of Pittsburgh, PA, departed this life, peacefully, following a short illness, on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the HJ. Heinz Veteran's Community Living Center in Aspinwall, PA. He was born December 25,1928 in Pittsburgh, to the late George R. Anderson and Elizabeth Lynch Anderson and step-mother, Mary L. Jones Anderson. He graduated from Pittsburgh Public Schools, George Westinghouse High School in Homewood. Upon graduation, George enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War for three years. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the army, George attended Carnegie Tech, studying to be a draftsman, while working part-time for the U.S. Postal Services, along with many other jobs. George met and married his late wife Dolores C. Talson Anderson, and to this union, two daughters were born, Leslie Diane Florence, and Lynne Darcel. George became a full-time employee of the U.S. Postal Services, working on the railroad mail delivery, Pittsburgh to Chicago delivery route for many years. Later, until retirement, George was a supervisor at the Vista facility of the U.S. Postal Service.

Mary “Marie” Sladics died peacefully on May 21, 2017 at the age of 96 in High Point, NC. Born to the late Nicholas and Anna Vrabel in Benscreek, PA, Marie grew up with six brothers. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Sladics. Marie is survived by her daughter Sara Dalton and her husband John of Archdale, NC; her son Louis Sladics and his wife Jackie of Westerville, OH; her daughter Mara Stephan of McKeesport; and by her brother Fred Vrabel and his wife Elaine of Portage, PA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Monica, Lisa, Tara, Lora, Kevin, Jared, and Jena; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Helen Miltenberger, age 45 of McKeesport, formerly of Johnstown, died May 15, 2017 at home. Born February 16, 1972 in Johnstown, she was the daughter of Alan and Sheila (Dunn) Miltenberger. Helen was a generous and giving person to everyone she knew. Her greatest joy was the time spent with her family and grandkids. Stoyanka Popovich Vranesevich, age 90, of McKeesport, died Sunday, May 21, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Very Rev. Dr. Milan G. and Zoritza Popovich. She was born in Crepaya, Yugoslavia on October 16, 1926 and was preceded in death by her husband Milan and brothers Dushan and Stoyan Popovich. Stoyanka earned her B.A. degree from Carnegie Mellon University (formerly Carnegie Technical Institute). She was a loving mother to her children Xenia and Milan of McKeesport, Zora Russell of Serento Florida, grandson George Russell and great grandson Dalton; brothers, retired Superior Court Judge Zoran Popovich of Myrtle Beach, SC; Ray (Shirley) Popovich of Greentree, PA, along with nieces and nephews. Stoyanka was an active member of the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church of McKeesport-Duquesne and choir member for more than twenty years. She was one of the founding members of the St. Sava Mothers’ Club and danced with the Balkan Dancers. Lynne Ann Barnes, age 52, of White Oak, died May 18, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian. Born July 25, 1964, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Miller) Oleska of White Oak and the wife of James R. Barnes also of White Oak. Lynne dedicated her life to caring for her family, particularly her son Jeff. She most recently worked as a bus monitor at Pennsylvania Coachlines and before that she worked as a care taker at the White Oak Village Apartments. Lynne was always more than willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed the outdoors and knew how to catch fish better than anyone.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lynne is survived by a son, Jeffrey Barnes of White Oak; sisters, Sherry (Oleska) Roskov of White Oak, Darla Oleska of McKeesport and Jodie Oleska of White Oak; brother-in-law, Franklin Barnes of Cannonsburg; nieces and nephews, Christi Roskov, Shawn Landstrom, Melanie and Taylor Ingersoll and Karrie Oleska; also many cousins and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brother Michael Oleska.
Family and friends will be received at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from 4 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Jody Dausey will officiate.
