Richard A. Williams, age 68, of Port Vue, died Jan. 30, 2016 at Baldwin Health Center after a brief but courageous struggle with cancer. He was born on March 1, 1947 in Pittsburgh to the late John and Ruth Williams. Rick was a 1965 graduate of Westinghouse Memorial High School and worked for Port Authority of Allegheny County for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2000.
On April 26, 1969 he married the former Sharon Billy who survives at home. For the past 13 years, Rick cared for Sharon after she suffered a debilitating stroke in 2003. Due to his loving and compassionate care, Sharon was able to recover most of the functions the stroke took from her.
Most who met him were positively affected by his warm and welcoming nature, his oddball sense of humor and jokes (many of which were off color). He will be loved and missed by his family and friends forever. Rick was an avid reader, golfer, and bowler along with being a passionate fan of the Pirates. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his younger brother Robert.
