Andrew J. Vehec, age 68, of Liberty Borough, died Feb. 3, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport. Born Dec. 1, 1947, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Andrew P. and Theresa (Gromacki) Vehec and the husband of Janet (Tomko) Vehec.
Andrew was a retired nuclear technician with 35 years of employment at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Andrew was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church. After retiring, he enjoyed a simple life of working out at the gym, washing the family cars and watching sports. During the Vietnam War, Andrew served stateside in the U.S. Army military police. When his children were young, he enjoyed coaching their sports teams and most recently, being a grandfather brought him his greatest pride and joy.

his wife Florence "Flo" (Jablonski) Ganchuk,  children Steve (Judy) Ganchuk of Liberty Boro, Kathy (Bob) Miskanin of Glassport, and Tom (Christine) Ganchuk of Austin, TX; grandchildren Aaron, Bethany, Kristin, Steven, Michael, David, Jennifer, Luke, Perry, and Joseph; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother Fred (Evelyn) Ganchuk of McDonald.

Steve owned and operated his own woodshop in Glassport, was a member of the Queen of the Rosary Parish where he was an usher for 60 years, a member of American Legion in Glassport and VFW inn Clairton.

Friends received Sat. 6-8 and Sun. 2-4 and 6-8. A funeral mass will be held Mon. 10am Queen of the Rosary Parish with Rev. Miroslaus Wojcicki. Arrangements made by Wojciechowski Funeral Home.

Prior to her retirement, Pearl was a Home Interiors Consultant, was a member of Norwin Alliance Church and the Norwin Democratic Club.
