She was a Medical Secretary for Gateway Foot and Ankle in West Mifflin and was a member of the White Oak American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Nancy’s personality was 24 Carat gold and her smile would light up an entire room. She was the best wife, mother, sister, daughter, and faithful friend to anyone lucky enough to know her. Edward “Ned” McCune Caughey, 66, of Ligonier, died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at home. Born in McKeesport, November 5, 1951, he was the son of the late Dr. Edward and Virginia Housaman Caughey. He is survived by his wife, Judith Wilson; his cousin, Sue Ann (Keith) Singer of Latrobe; and his lifelong friend, Mac Petty of White Oak. Ned was a retired groundskeeper at Laurel Valley Golf Club and a lifeguard, swim instructor, and personal trainer at the Ligonier YMCA. He was a graduate of Penn State University and a member of the McKeesport YMCA and the Youghiogheny Country Club. Ned was a volunteer for the Ligonier Valley Meals On Wheels and for the Friendly Visitors of Westmoreland County. He was an avid organic gardener and golfer. Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of Ned’s life will be held at a later date. Alice Mary (Rodriguez-Gutierrez) Boyd of Middleboro died peacefully on February 19, 2018. She was 90.
She was born on September 1, 1927 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Jesus Gutierrez and Concepcion Rodriguez-Gutierrez. Prior to her retirement, Alice worked for many years as an electronics assembler at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. She was a member of the Mexican/American Club in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and numerous Catholic organizations. A devout Catholic, she treasured her faith and family.
Former wife of the late John Gilbert Boyd, Sr. Devoted mother of Veronica L. Gasdick of Pennsylvania, Kathleen F. Boyd of Massachusetts, Arthur F. Boyd of Texas and the late John Gilbert Boyd, Jr. Loving sister of Arthur J. and William Gutierrez, Julia Kowalski, the late Pedro Gutierrez, Jenny Boyko and Joseph Gutierrez. Also survived by cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families.
A memorial service will be held on Friday (March 2, 2018) at 6:30 PM in the Onset Foursquare Church, 301 Onset Avenue, Onset.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (March 10, 2018) at 9:30 AM in Queen of The Rosary Church, 530 Michigan Avenue, Glassport, Pennsylvania.

Ernest A. Kendall of Doylestown, formerly of Levittown, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at the age of 76.

Edward served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska. He worked as a press operator for GM in West Mifflin until his retirement. Edward loved hunting, was an avid trap shooter and belonged to several gun clubs. He is survived by his daughter Donna (John) Nixon of Mansfield, Ohio, granddaughter Erin (Dean) Pontikos of Brecksville, Ohio, 2 great grandsons, William and Johnny, and brother Albert (Martha) Vojtek of Fort Gratoit, Michigan. He was born on June 5, 1921 in McKeesport, and was the son of the late Georgius and Maria (Cybak) Semchak. Alex, a WWII Veteran, proudly served his country as a Captain in the US Army Signal Corps. Patricia A. "Patsy" Christeson, 79, of Elizabeth Township, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at home with her children and her dog, Lucy by her side. She was born December 10, 1938 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine Skiffington Martin. She was the wife of the late Alfred E. "Chris" Christeson who died August 23, 2007. They were married for 46 years. She was a member of the former St. Pius V Catholic Church in McKeesport and the Kiwanis Club. She was an amazing seamstress that could design, sew, or make anything and everything. She began sewing when she was 5 years old and making alterations on people's clothes before she was 10. She always said that we could take away her car, but not her sewing machine. She handmade her grandchildren's Christening and Baptismal gowns which are even more cherished now. She was happiest at her family built cabin in Cameron County, with her late husband, children and grandchildren where she enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing and making items with wood (furniture, cedar chests and chairs) with many going to family or friends. She is survived by children, Michael (Carol) Christeson of Washington, Daniel (Roberta Walk) Christeson, Paul "Toby" (Jamie) Christeson and Kristine (Jack) Cant of Elizabeth Township. "G" spent a lot of time with her grandchildren, Jess Cant, Kaitlyn, Pearl, Kaylee, and Alfred Christeson. Dolores Marie “Dolly” (Mihalic) Gondos, 81, of Elizabeth Township, died Saturday, February 3, 2018. She was born June 13, 1936 in Donora and was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary A. (Kosko) Mihalic. She was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Christy Park. Dolly was a retired Library Aide for the Elizabeth Forward School District and had previously worked for US Steel and Columbia Gas in Donora. She enjoyed her ladies card club, working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and NCIS, and trying to figure out the clues to where the Daily News Easter Egg was hidden. She was an avid Steelers and Notre Dame fan. She loved holiday get-togethers with family, beach vacations in Outer Banks, NC, and the annual Gondos family reunion. In her younger days, she enjoyed canning tomatoes and making the best pizza sauce around – her recipe was even published in the local newspaper!

Sandra (Sandy) Tison of West Mifflin passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018. She was born in McKeesport on August 21, 1954, daughter of the late Bernard Tison and late Rita Furlong. She was predeceased in death by her niece and godchild, Carrie Ann Gross and her step-mother Patricia Tison and step-sister Debra Oskin. She is survived by her sister Pattie (Charles) Gross, nephews Charles (Denise) Gross, Michael (Kara) Gross and Scott Gross; also 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew; step-brothers Keith Daugherty and Kenneth Daugherty, many cousins and step-nephews. She was previously employed by U.S. Steel Duquesne Works and was a Market Research Interviewer at Waraback Research for 21 years. She also worked at Riverside Nursing Center. But the job she loved the most was being a caretaker for the elderly in their homes. Family and friends will be received at Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Glassport on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10 am at Queen of the Rosary Church. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue.
