Ruth Niedzwecki, 82, of Forward Township, formerly of Liberty Borough, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023. She was born March 22, 1941 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mary (Chernicky) Dwornick. She was the wife of the late Anthony Richard Niedzwecki who passed away February 29, 2020. Ruth was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish, Liberty Borough. She was a retired Assistant Medical Secretary at Linn, Shearer, Wickerman, and Stuart in Pittsburgh and had previously worked as a secretary at the former G.C. Murphy Co. Warehouse in Christy Park. She is survived by her daughters, Tanis N. (William) Cochrane of Elizabeth Township and Tracy A. Hrehocik of Forward Township, granddaughters, Samantha (Jaymie Williams) Hrehocik and Jackie (Shawn Kuhn) Hrehocik, a great-grandson, Owen Robert Williams and her grand-dog, Merle. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Dwornick and son-in-law, Robert Hrehocik. There is no visitation. Dorothy Mae "Dee" Ault, 86, of Boston, Elizabeth Township, passed away on December 8, 2023. She was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, sister, mother-in-law and friend, who will be dearly missed. Affectionately known as Dee, she lived life fully and truly relished every moment, especially those with her family. She was a lovely lady with a great sense of humor who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was always talking about times to come with her family, especially vacationing together on the Chesapeake Bay, the Jersey Shore and Canadohta Lake. She loved reading and enjoyed lunches spent with her girlfriends. She retired from Pennoni Associates at the age of 80 in 2017 as an office manager. She loved the people she worked with and always came home from work with a smile on her face. She was a member of Port Vue Methodist Church.

Ralph James Cochran, 70, of Elizabeth Township, formerly South Park, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023. He was born in Pittsburgh on November 17, 1953 and was the son of the late Ralph George and Elizabeth Merl (Stilley) Cochran. Ralph enjoyed motocross sports in all aspects, repairing dirt bikes and racing them as "Ralph Racing" with his children. Glenn C. McKeown, 98, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Greenock, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 at home. He was born November 9, 1925 in Gratztown, and was the son of the late James Daniel and Nora Bell (Sterner) McKeown. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Maurer) McKeown who passed away February 17, 2020. He was a member of the Greenock United Methodist Church since 1958 and was a retired Craneman for US Steel National Tube Works. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School Class of 1943.

Karson David Kasiorek, 11 years and 7 months, of Elizabeth Township, passed away at home on Sunday, November 26, 2023 with his Mom and Dad by his side. He was born on April 26, 2012 at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, the son of David Joseph Kasiorek, Sr. and Carrie Ann Anderson.
In life, Karson, was a true Warrior, we feel so honored and truly blessed to be his family. As a lifelong resident of Elizabeth Township, he developed an abundance of special relationships with young and old alike and became an inspiration to so many. He received special loving attention from our Buena Vista Fireman and our Elizabeth Township Police. Karson was a cat lover but always enjoyed a visit from our K9 team, he appreciated how disciplined and kind they are. (He used to joke that their paycheck was in bones). Karson was in the 6th grade at EFMS. A majority of his time was spent doing home schooling where he built the most special relationship with his dedicated teacher Mrs. Tara Gluscic, who stuck by our side since first grade. She became family to all of us and was so incredibly loved by Karson. He loved all things science, nature, and Lego. From a very young age, he enjoyed taking walks with his parents along the river, to a special waterfall along the Yough River Trail. He had a keen interest in gardening and horticulture in general, specifically herbs (his favorite to grow and smell was Basil) and their healing properties. He absorbed so much, always learning and often becoming the teacher himself. He loved sharing fun facts and had a special way of explaining his observations to the very finest of details, one of his many super powers. He was an avid gamer, he loved playing with his brother and Dad, and enjoyed playing Spider Man on the PS5, most recently. Through the years he accumulated quite the gemstone collection and enjoyed collecting shark teeth and other artifacts. Karson was quite a prankster and enjoyed laughter, his personality made it contagious, lightening the serious situations he faced. His favorite pastime was to share silly jokes. Many of them "Dad" jokes. He taught us all how to fight and look at the bright side of things in the face of adversity. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, laughter, gentleness, and pure love. Patricia "Patti" Dobos, 74, of McKeesport passed away Monday, December 4, 2023. She was born in McKeesport on January 10, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Chester and Patricia (Shank) Ornowski. Patti worked many years as a Data Entry Clerk for G.C Murphy, and the McKeesport Candy Company before retiring. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Polish Church prior to the merge that created Mary, Mother of God Parish; and also a member of the Polish National Alliance Lodge #352. She loved her trips to the casino too.

Paul V. Haber, 89, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Elizabeth Twp, and Melbourne, Florida, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023. He was born February 3, 1934 in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Ralph J. and Rose E. (Mittreder) Haber. He was the loving companion of 34 years to the late Janet Ludwig, who passed away June 6, 2011. Paul was a US Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. Upon completion of his military service, he worked and owned many companies with his brothers Jack and Jim, including Arsenal Construction, three hotels in Florida and Dow Business Park. He enjoyed horse racing, and owned a racing horse and was also an avid swimmer. He will be greatly missed.

Velma Elizabeth (Poling) Walls, 96, of Port Vue, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 27, 2023. Born to parents Sherman Everett and Ethel (Heatley) Poling on March 8, 1927 at the McKeesport home of her grandparents, Richard and Mary Elizabeth (Waters) Heatley. Velma grew up with two wonderful brothers, the late Robert and Richard Poling. She graduated from McKeesport High School in 1945 where she played clarinet in the marching band and worked weekends at the J.C. Penney Co. After high school, she went to keypunch school in Pittsburgh, then worked for National Tube for 5 years. She met and married Forney Clair Walls at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in McKeesport. They were married for 53 years. She raised 3 children and was an active Cub Scout Den Mother and with Boy Scout Troop 57 and served as director of the Port Vue Legionettes, for 60 + years, and was a member of the American Legion Post 447 Ladies Auxiliary. She swam weekly with wonderful friends at the former McKeesport YWCA and took her dogs on many walks. For more than 40 years, she worked as a Bookkeeper for The Carriage Inn. Velma loved the Lord. A member of Park Baptist Church in Versailles, she served as a Deaconess for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her church family, her family, and friends.

Glen E. Lowery, 70, of Elizabeth Township passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023. He was born November 27, 1952 in McKeesport and was the son of the late John E. and Mildred V. (Matthews) Lowery. He worked many years at Irvin Works, and with the Elizabeth Township Sanitation Plant. Glen was a member of the Masonic Lodge #641, and was a part of the Tall Cedars; as well as a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Greenock, Elizabeth Township. James (Jimmy) Robert Boughner, 64, of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectantly from a pulmonary embolism on Monday, November 20, 2023. Jimmy was a loving husband and father, a humble and devoted man to family and friends. “Where the path of love and friendship cross, it leaves a mark forever.”
Jimmy was a 1977 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, a graduate of The Ohio State University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He was an attorney, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Jimmy was a person of broad accomplishments and impeccable character in his personal, professional, and civic life. He worked for five companies; Ernst & Whinney, Arthur Andersen, The Beechwood Company, Schneider Downs, and The Nutting Company, Wheeling, WV. Jimmy always worked behind the scenes to make others more successful without the desire or need for recognition.
Jimmy served as a board member and President of the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Trustee of the E.R. Crawford Estate Trust, member of Youghiogheny Country Club, member of Wheeling Country Club, committee member and past President of West Penn Golf Association, member of the USGA Junior National Committee, board member and past Treasurer of Mon River Arts, Treasurer/Secretary/Director of Membership of the Financial Planning Association of Pittsburgh, and member, elder, and former Chairperson of the Corporation of the Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church. Patricia L. Atkins, 91, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born August 28, 1932, in Duquesne, and was the daughter of the late Jennie and James Hannegan. She was the wife of 56 years to the late Howard C. Atkins, who passed away, December 10, 2014. Patricia was very involved in the Girl Scouts of America and functioned as a Den Mother for many years. She worked 20 years for the Elizabeth Forward School District where she headed the cafeteria, supplying many generations of youths with delicious and nutritious meals. Patricia was a devoted Christian and member of the former Boston Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School. Patricia was a hardworking and loving woman that will be missed by her family.
