Born October 1, 1929, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Luciano and Ida (Dispenza) Rizzo and the wife of the late Albert Guzewicz. Connie began working at G.C. Murphy's and Mann's Drug store, followed by 25 years in the cafeteria of Serra Catholic High School and then at Auberle. Throughout her life, she found joy in caring for her home and family, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her talents in the kitchen were unmatched, with her hot sausage being a cherished family favorite, and her love for sweets, especially cookies, always brought a smile to those around her. Connie enjoyed many trips with her families, some of which included time at the beach, others enjoying the peace of the outdoors.

Deborah L. Hreha, age 71, of White Oak, died on February 17, 2024, at UPMC East Hospital. Born February 3, 1953, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Wray) Cooper and the wife of Duane Hreha. Deborah's journey began at Mon Yough Catholic Girls School, where she nurtured her love for learning and graduated in 1971. She furthered her education at Penn State University, graduating in 1975, where she met her soulmate, Duane Hreha, who would become her devoted husband. After Penn State, Deborah went on to Carnegie Mellon University where she earned her Master of Science in Chemical Engineering. As an Analytical Chemist for the Department of Energy, Deborah displayed exceptional skill and passion for her work, earning the respect of her colleagues. A woman of many talents and interests, Deborah was an active member of various organizations, including the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemists and Applied Spectroscopy, the Society of Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh, Mary, Mother of God Parish, and the Christian Mothers. She also cherished moments spent honing her creativity through cake decorating, crocheting, and crafting, bringing joy to her family and friends with her handmade creations. Throughout her life, Deborah found joy in simple pleasures, from trips to Kennywood, Idlewood, and Rehoboth Beach to sharing special moments with grandchildren. Her dedication to her family, community, and passions will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Dorothy Louise Matta, age 97, died Monday, February 12, 2024, at her home in North Huntingdon Twp. Born on July 30, 1926, in Duquesne, PA., she was the daughter of the late Michael M. and Anna Breza Miller and for 73 years was the wife of Charles E. Matta, who died in 2020.
Known as "Dot" to her family and friends, she graduated from Duquesne High School and went to work for the U.S. Navy. As World War II ended and servicemen began to return and reclaim their jobs, she moved to U.S. Steel Homestead Works, where she eventually became a confidential secretary, staying until her retirement.
Dorothy was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in McKeesport, where she and her husband enjoyed making bread and pyrohy for church sales.
