Guy P. Redinger, age 99, of White Oak died April 11, 2017 at Forbes Regional Hospital. Born February 12, 1918 in Everett he was the son of the late Wesley and Carrie (Straily) Redinger. He was married to Betty Mae Burket until she died in 1986. He was then married to Lucille (Wunderly) Redinger until she died in 2012. Guy was a World War II veteran. He retired from Peoples Union Bank where he was a Building Maintenance Supervisor for over 30 years. He was a 50 year member of the Youghiogheny Lodge No. 583. He was also a member at Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Syria Shrine, Caravan No. 4, and White Oak American Legion Post #701. Guy was a Deacon in the Church of the Brethren for over 60 years. He was a part of the old timers golf league and had a recorded hole in one at 7 Springs Golf Course at the age of 80. Guy is survived by his children Joyce (Grant) McNally of North Huntingdon, Terry (Diane) Redinger of St. Petersburg, FL; step daughter Luanne (Brian) Obert of Vienna, VA; grandson Scott (Jennifer) Craze; great-grandchildren Chelsea (Eric) Snyder, Logan and Garrett Craze; great great-grandchildren Mason and Carter Snyder; nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the step grandchildren for giving Guy the love and support throughout the years. Guy is preceded in death by his siblings; Lillian Dunkel, Elmira Whisel, Charles, Herbert, and Harry. Robert Roth, age 69 of North Huntingdon, passed away April 7, 2017 at Southwestern Veterans Center. He was born March 28, 1948 in Pittsburgh and grew up in Liberty Borough. He was the son of the late Robert and Mary Roth. He is survived by his children, Robert and David Roth; grandchildren, Samantha and Jacob Roth; sister and guardian, Arlene (Robert) Gorwood, and siblings, Thomas (Norma Jo) Roth, Patricia (Mike) Webb and Sandra (Dan) Durain and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was a graduate of Port Vue-Liberty High School, Duquesne University, and retired after 30 years of service as a general foreman at U.S. Steel. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the 101st Airborne Division. Diane L. Kurta, age 62 of Elizabeth Twp., died on March 30, 2017 at Canterbury Place. Irene C. Miller, age 93, of McKeesport passed away peacefully on March 30, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. Born January 9, 1924 in Ulanow Poland, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Jozefa Chmielowski and the wife of the late Lloyd W. Miller, Jr. Irene was taken from her home in 1943 to work in a forced labor camp in Germany. In 1945 she met her husband during the war. In 1947 she came to the United States to start a family and a career. She worked at the McKeesport Hospital for 45 years where she retired as a nurses aid. Irene enjoyed gardening, cooking, singing, Pittsburgh sports and spending time with her family. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and St. Mary Czestochowa bowling league. Irene is survived by her children, Barbara Adams of Sigel, Lori (Robert) Davis of North Huntingdon, Lloyd W. Miller III of Munhall and William J. Miller of McKeesport; grandchildren, Josette (John) Kippenberger, Justin (Elizabeth) Davis and Michael (Lauren) Davis; great-grandchildren, Elisha, Desiree, Michael, Logan, Jaxson and Lennon; great-great grandchildren, Sophia, Sterling and Skylar; sisters, Helen and Mary. Jean A. Nowicki, age 92 of McKeesport, entered into Heaven’s Gates on March 29, 2017 at Paramount Senior Living in McMurray. Born March 15, 1925 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Sally (Rymar) Kustra and wife of the late Edmund R. Nowicki. Our mother always looked for the good in everyone and offered a warm greeting to everyone she met. She had a gracious, selfless spirit and indomitable strength despite all the challenges of her life, because, “someone always has it worse”. She was our heart and soul. She was the Past President of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers & Ladies Guild, Past President of the Rosary Society, Eucharistic Minister and former member of the Pastoral Council. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #221 and the McKeesport PNA #352. She is survived by her son, Dr. Edmund J. (Christi) Nowicki; daughter, Patricia J. Dobranski; grandchildren, Aaron Stewart, Lacey Stewart, Kellie (Josh) Stahlman, Logan Stewart, Edmund C. Raymond A. “Mex” Maldonado, age 63 of McKeesport, died at home on March 28, 2017. Born June 26, 1953 in McKeesport, he was the son of Harry R. (the late Margaret) Maldonado and Alicia (Jerry) Peters. He was the loving husband of Cindy (Stumme) Maldonado for 25 years. Ray worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Mifflin Estates. He was a “dad” to many and was always willing to mentor and provide for anyone. He was remembered in the summer for paying the ice cream man in advance so that way, any kid who came up was more than welcome to enjoy some ice cream at no expense. The word hate did not exist in his vocabulary. He had a passion for bass fishing and going to his second home at Lake Wilhelm. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Chad (Sarah) Maldonado; Kelly (John Jr.) Hatfield, Katy (Layne) Hurst, and grandchildren, Olivia “O”, Caleb, Cash, Jordan, and Alexis; siblings, Lisa Maldonado, Brian Maldonado, Cindy Campagna, Jennifer Evars, Jerry Peters, Pam (Tom) Keffer and Leayn Thomas. Joseph J. “Jay” Kovacs, age 63 of McKeesport, passed away at home on March 14, 2017 surrounded by his family after a hard fought 12 year battle. Born February 16, 1954 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alberta (Spiegel) Kovacs and he was the loving husband of Patty (Mull) Kovacs for 43 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Amy (Mark) Myers and Joseph Kovacs; grandchildren, Jocelyn Kovacs, Olivia, Emily, and Brock Myers; sister, Kathy (Tom) Filotei; brother, John (Kim) Kovacs; aunt, Clara Mae Salem; sister-in-law, Ginna (John) Sowa and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jay loved his Harley Davidson, fishing with family and friends, and was a jack of all trades who was always there to help someone in need. Ralph A. Criscito, age 68 of Irwin, passed away on February 17, 2017 at his home. Born December 20, 1948 in McKeesport, he was the son of Olga Janiel Criscito and the late Anthony R. Criscito. Ralph honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War with the 173rd Airborne. Following his military service, he began working as a draftsman for Westinghouse Transportation Division and later for AEG Transportation. He most recently worked as a shipping clerk for Bombardier, having retired after many years of service. He was a member of the Irwin VFW where he enjoyed spending time with his fellow veterans, however his greatest joy was the time shared with his family. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Jeffrey Criscito of Irwin; granddaughter, Mia Rosa Criscito; sisters, Kathy Reichardt of Marietta, OH, Cindy Mosqueda of Confluence and Sandy Matthews of North Huntingdon; and many nieces and nephews. Mabel J. Lippert, age 96 of North Huntingdon, formerly of White Oak, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. Born April 9, 1920 in Glassport, she was the daughter of the late William and Edith Mae (Houston) Simpson, and loving wife of the late Leonard G. Lippert. Mabel was a member of the Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church along with the White Oak Women's Club, the White Oak AARP #2294, and former member of the McKeesport Women's Club. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, especially trips to St. Petersburg and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Rich) Collier of North Huntingdon and Carol (the late Arthur, Jr.) Andrews of South Carolina; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William and Clyde Simpson; and sister, Edith Rosback.
