Earl “Gar” H. McDaniel Jr., age 65, of North Versailles, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017. He was a noted writer and author that published the novel Between Lives, as well a respected teacher and an editor for numerous newspapers in Pa., Ohio and Va. He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Doris McDaniel. He is survived by his sister Nancy (Steve) VanAuken; niece Courtney (Yoon) Weaver and their children Evan and Abigail and niece Whitney Walker; as well as many close friends.

Charles “Chuck” Cortese, 86, of North Huntingdon died Sunday June 18, 2017. He was born April 20, 1931 in Adamsburg, a son of the late John and Josephine (Ross) Cortese. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Gail E. (Butler) Cortese; a son Shawn P. Murphy; brothers Matthew, Donald, Samual, Phillip, and John. Chuck attended Adamsburg elementary school and Norwin High School where he excelled at football. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran that served as an aerial gunner on a B-36 bomber during the Korean Conflict.

Norma J. (Bisogni) Eberman, age 91, of Westmoreland City, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Amber House in Mt. Pleasant. She was born May 29, 1926 in Allison, a daughter of the late Edmond and Secunda Bisogni. She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Irwin. She worked part-time for over ten years at the Post office in Westmoreland City. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 68 years Richey Eberman; daughter Leslie Eberman; four brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters Diane J. (Joe) Hiteshue of Raleigh, North Carolina, Charmaine (Harry Ansell) Martelli of Dawson and Carol (Doug) Rosequist of Liberty Township, Ohio; grandchildren Mollie (Paul) Carite, Kurt (Katherine) Hiteshue, Mindy Hiteshue, Joshua Skemp, Jared (Jenelle) Skemp, Paulina Rosequist, Maddie Rosequist, Rachael Rosequist, and Valerie Rosequist; great grandchildren Ellie, Hannah, Seth, Diana, Bella, Maggie, Emma, Maddie, Wilson, Kaden and Coragan; and close friend Sam Martelli.

Regis T. Kollar, 82, of Herminie, died Tuesday June 6, 2017. He was born November 22, 1934 in East Pittsburgh, a son of the late Thomas and Martha (Rudy) Kollar and was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary Ann (Uderman) Kollar in October 2016 and his grandson Jaicob Kollar. Regis was a graduate of Duquesne University and retired sales manager for Tile City, North Huntingdon and Greensburg stores. He was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon where he served as an altar server. Regis and Mary Ann raised their family in North Huntingdon and then spent their last few years in Wilmington, NC, where they had a place at the beach.

Anderson (Bruce), grandchildren Caren Palmaverde, Deena Kingston (Stephen), Julie Murphy, Shannon Murphy, Michael McDonald, Stephanie Murphy and Avery Hunt; great grandchildren Lyla and Abel Kingston; numerous nieces and nephews and her grand dogs. She graduated in 1946 from East Pittsburgh High School.

She was born April 18, 1926 in Wendel, a daughter of the late Andrew and Lottie (Grabiak) Grazel. Regina and her late husband Harry V. Adams were founders and operators of Carradam Golf Club, North Huntingdon. She was a member of the PA Golf Course Owners Association and the S.N.P.J. Lodge, Herminie. When she was able she was a member of various ladies golf leagues, enjoyed playing cards, and loved to go to the casino. In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children Colleen C. (Frank) Ricco of Carmichaels and Leslie V. (Barbara) Adams of Scottsdale, AZ; her grandchildren Shannon (Larry) Dowling, Heather (Bill) Spell, Megan Riley, Cyndi (Drew) Davis, and Brent (Carolyn) Adams; also ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Timothy Reza, age 83, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was born September 3, 1933 in McKeesport, a son of the late Timothy and Mary (Hutsho) Reza. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War where he survived three years as a POW and was awarded the Purple Heart, he then went onto work as a crane operator for over 36 years at the Irvin Works Steel Mill in West Mifflin. He was a member of the VFW in McKeesport and East McKeesport, American Legion in White Oak and The retired steel workers group SOAR in West Mifflin. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Timothy Reza; and sisters Betty, Rosy, and Juanita. He is survived by his wife of over 51 years Norma Jean (DiGiorgio) Reza; children Timothy (Theresa) Reza and Cindie Reza; grandsons Alexander and Nicholas Reza; brother Augustine (Karen) Reza; sister Catherine (Jim) Dunbar; and nieces and nephews.

He was an Army veteran and went on to work as a soil scientist for the U.S. Government for over 25 years before retiring. Rebecca L. “Becky” Musgrave, 75, of New York, NY, formerly of Irwin, died Friday May 12, 2017. She was born January 8, 1942 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Samuel A. and Alice McAfee Musgrave. Becky grew up in Irwin and moved to New York in the mid 1960’s. She worked for the United Nations in the environmental statistical department retiring in the late 1990’s. She was an accomplished artist studying portrait drawing most recently, and was part of an art gallery in her New York community. She is survived by her son Joshua Musgrave and his spouse Philippe Costet of Florham Park, NJ, and a sister Susan F. Dunbar and her spouse Rick of Bisbee AZ. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church, 617 Main Street, Irwin, with Rev. Ronald Durika, officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
