Dempsey of North Huntingdon and Terri L (Richter) Dempsey of Irwin. Heather worked as an assistant at Dr. Anna B. Miller, Eye Care Center, Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents she is survived by the love of her life Joseph Aquiline of Pittsburgh; her son Logan L. Swidowski of Irwin; her brother Christopher E. (Natalie) Dempsey of Latrobe; niece and nephew Isabella and Lucas; her grandmother Doris P. Fritz of AZ; also aunts, uncles, cousins and her beloved pet dog Lyla.

He was a graduate of Norwin High School, class of 1984 and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin. Jeff was an Easter Seals poster child at the age of 5 which provided him with many opportunities to attend many sports events and meet Pittsburgh sports figures. She was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service with over twenty years’ service. She was a member of West Newton United Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and former junior and senior choir director for 35 years, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Women’s Association, and the Sewing Circle.

George graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and received his master’s degree from Edinboro University. Robert E. Smith, age 89, of Irwin, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017. He was born July 1, 1927 in Wilmerding, a son of the late Clarence C. and Verna (Stormer) Smith. He was a long time member of the West Hempfield Presbyterian Church where he participated in their dart ball competitions. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and had the honor of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. He retired from truck driving for Clean Textile Systems in Lawrenceville and enjoyed hunting and golf. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Glendon Smith. He is survived by his wife of over 66 years Pauline C. (Cline) Smith; children Karen L. (John) Reed of Irwin, Beverly Ann (Joseph) Patton of Derry and Paul R. Smith of Irwin; grandchildren Nicole (Drew) Reckhart, Jennifer (Matthew) Stephens, Matt Reed (fiancé Danielle) and Renee Root; 10 great grandchildren; and sister Dorothy Thomas of Tiffen, Ohio.
