Nevea Marie Hodge, 14, of McKeesport, died Jan. 2, 2024. She is the daughter of Scott Cartia and Chelsea Hodge; sister of Lucas and Lionel; granddaughter of Lori (James), Pat, Carol, Mark, and Sara. Nevea is survived and loved by so many, including aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sat., Jan. 13, 2024 from 2 to 4.

Sally Jo Ross, 85, of Glassport died Dec. 14, 2023. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Marie Pennington. She is survived by her beloved husband, John R. Ross; children Karen (Larry) Blanchard, John F. Ross, Patricia (Bill) Kiser, Val (Nikki) Ross and Amy (Bob) Deliman; grandchildren Joshua, Brandon, Kara, Christopher, Jimmy, Richard, Billy, Jordan, Cory, Val, Michael, Breeanna and Robert; great grandchildren Skyler, Tyler, Joseph and Colby; also nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Johnny and Kimberly and siblings Boykin, Peggy and Gerry. Sally was very strong in her faith and was a member of St. Joachim & Anne Parish (formerly Queen of the Rosary Parish). John and Sally met in Brunswick, Georgia where John was stationed in the U.S. Navy. Sally and her sister Gerry went to the movies and were throwing popcorn at the sailors to get their attention. It worked. John whisked Sally off to Glassport, Pennsylvania and were married for 68 years. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Always big family parties with plenty of food, drinks, and Elvis. Eugene R. Liebel, Sr., 85, of Glassport died Dec. 5,2023. He is the son of the late Herbert and Clara Liebel. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mildred (Wilson) Liebel; children Mary Ann (Craig) Myers, Eugene (Debbie) Liebel, Jr., Mike (Kate) Liebel, Brenda (Chris) Heater and Brian (Tori) Liebel; also 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Eugene was retired from Copperweld as well as Duquesne University. Friends received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home Glassport on Fri., Dec. 8, from 1 to 5. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics.

Mary M. McLinden, 90, died Saturday November 25, 2023. She is the daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret (Lewis) Pruszko. She is survived by her daughter Deborah McLinden; son Hugh J. McLinden III; grandchildren Michael and Colleen McLinden; sister Helen Gouker; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Stanley Pruszko. Beverly J. Kelly, 82, of Glassport died Nov. 3, 2023. She is the daughter of the late Edward and Molly (Roesch) Atkinson and wife of the late William Kelly. Joanne Barone, 76, of Glassport died peacefully with her family by her side on Oct. 28, 2023. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Schneltzer and beloved wife of Richard Barone. Eleanor Mazurkiewicz, 90, joined her Parents Stanley and Mary (Sopko) Mazurkiewicz and her brothers Stanley, Edward, Theodore and John Mazurkiewicz and sisters Helen Balaban, Josephine Mazurkiewicz and Irene Spisak in Paradise on October 15, 2023. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Eleanor was a retired clerk for Thorofare Market and a member of St. Joachim & Anne Parish. Family was everything to her and she loved being included in all get togethers whether Holidays or just being together. She always was willing to contribute either by cooking or baking cookies, cakes or pies. Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Thurs. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A funeral mass will be held Fri. 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Church. Interment following St. Mary's Polish Cemetery.

William A. Schmotzer, Sr., 86 of Glassport died Oct. 15, 2023. He is the son of the late William and Stella (Sypniewski) Schmotzer. Virginia M. Como, 98 of Liberty Borough, died Sept. 26, 2023. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Burke) Meisl and beloved wife of the late Arthur Como. Virginia is survived by her daughters Dee (Andrew) Golembiewski and Anita Lepley; daughter in law Sandi Como; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and her dear cat Precious. She was preceded in death by her sons Deacon Gerard Como and Mark Como; daughter Roseanne Slafka; grandchildren Kevin Golembiewski and Aaron Slafka; granddaughter in law Trish Como and brother Frank Meisl. Virginia was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish; past president of Christian Mothers of St. Cecilia's Church and a member of the Glassport Bowling League. Friends received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport Thurs. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. A funeral mass will be held Fri. 10:00 am at St. Eugene Church with Father John Civille.
