Katherine Louise Christian-Adams, 83, affectionately known as Sissy, of McKeesport, was born October 16, 1940, in McKeesport, PA. She was the beloved daughter of the late James and Gladys (Shern) Christian.

Katherine graduated in 1959 from McKeesport Senior High School. She attended Community College of Allegheny County and received her associate degree in nursing. She retired after 25 plus from John Kane Regional Center in McKeesport.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of McKeesport for 55 years where she served on several boards and committees.

John H. “Jack” Wolf

ohn H. “Jack” Wolf, 86, of Monroeville, formerly of Wilkinsburg and Penn Hills, passed away on Saturday October 28, 2023. He was born December 2, 1936 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John H. Wolf Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Ogg) Wolf. Jack was a graduate of Penn Hills High School, where he was the marching band drum major.

After high school he attended Brown University, on scholarship, to study Aeronautical Engineering. He Then finished his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Institute of Technology (now CMU), where he continued support of his Alma Mater, CMU, through lifelong giving as a Member of the Order of May.

Jack both began and retired from his career as a mechanical engineer at Bacharach Instrument Co. (recently acquired by MSA) where he designed combustible gas detection and monitoring devices that were used worldwide. His faith was very important to him. He was a member of the Wilkinsburg Baptist Church and later, with his wife Carol, joined Linway United Presbyterian Church, North Versailles, where he sang in the choir and served as a member of the church’s Session.

Jack was an avid bowler in his younger years and was a life-long music-lover. He appreciated several music genres including jazz, big band/swing, classic country, hymns, and musicals. Jack always kept up with current events, finance and politics by reading the Wall Street Journal daily. He was a passionate investor and passed that enthusiasm along to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, providing them books and articles, along with sharing his insights on investing. Jack spent hours creating plans and researching topics on his computer. He also enjoyed good food, watching the Steelers, spending time with family, and taking trips with his wife, Carol.

Ruth Carol Wolf

Ruth Carol Wolf, 86, of Monroeville, formerly of North Versailles, passed away peacefully at home on Friday October 27, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born June 1, 1937 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Frank P. Schomaker and Ruth S. (Stanley) Schomaker, and was preceded in death by her sister Martha “Mardi” Hoofnagle.

Carol was a graduate of East McKeesport High School and attended Slippery Rock State College (now SRU). She worked briefly at Bell Telephone in the early 1960’s and spent several years volunteering with the Girl Scouts of SWPA. Carol was a registered Girl Scout for 35 years. She began as a Troop Leader and ascended through the ranks to serve two terms as First Vice President of the Girl Scouts of SWPA Council.

Carol’s faith was very important to her. She grew up in, and later rejoined Linway United Presbyterian Church, North Versailles, after Wilkinsburg Baptist Church – the church she joined upon marrying her beloved husband, John H. Wolf, closed in the early 2000s. Carol’s most cherished moments were spent with her family. She really enjoyed good cappuccino, shopping with her daughters, dining out with and attending events with her friends. Her most cherished times were spent vacationing with her husband on Martha’s Vineyard, Nags Head, and Amelia Island.

June Guckert, 95, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at her home.  She was born June 9, 1928 in Wilmerding, to the late Fred G. and Mildred Thompson.  June had a sweet soul and always had a smile on her face and deeply loved her family.  She was a member of the First Methodist Church and she enjoyed singing, playing cards, reading, and watching her favorite television shows Rifleman and Andy Griffith.  June also enjoyed listening to Elvis songs and even attended one of his concerts.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mae Myers; and brothers, Fred G., Robert J. James D. and Eugene Thompson.  She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Nauman; granddaughter, Melissa; son, Jack (Anita); grandson, Josh; sister, Mildred Koester; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the James W. Jeremy M. Little, age 45, of Elizabeth, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at West Penn Hospital. He was a parts manager for more than 10 years at the former Angel’s Cycles in Rostraver Twp. He loved riding dirt bikes and quads in his earlier years, and enjoyed working on motorcycles. Born September 27, 1978 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Reginald Little Jr. and the late Valerie (Urban) Little. He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Twilia Urban of Elizabeth; brother, Eric J. "Judy" Begandy, age 70 and formerly of McKeesport, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in UPMC East Hospital, Monroeville.  Born December 8, 1952 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosa (DiMucci) Begandy.  A member of Mary, Mother of God Parish in McKeesport, Judith retired as a nurse's assistant and ward clerk for UPMC and also worked in customer service for Comcast.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Joseph (Wendy) Begandy, Jr. and her nephews: Sean and Adam Begandy.  Judith is survived by her niece Suzanne (Rick) Barrett of Petersburg, VA; her great nephews and niece David and Haylee Begandy -- and their mother Ashley Colflesh -- and Colton and Christian Begandy -- and their mother Jamie Begandy; her "BFF" Gladys Schweitzer; and also many cousins.

(Fedorka) Magill.  A truck driver for 25 years for TMC Transportation in Des Moines, IA.  He loved his truck and he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 27 years Sandra “Sandy” N. (Kesten) Prosser; his son James C. Comer of Baltimore, MD; his grandchildren James Anthony Comer and Sienna M. Gloria Allene Lorentz Pavuk, 94, of Westminster Place Assisted Living, Oakmont, formerly of Jefferson Hills passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023. Gloria was born November 24, 1928 in Pittsburgh to the late Mabel Redena Slack Lorentz and Amor Smith Michael Lorentz. She had 2 older siblings, Olive Reville (died 2014) and Amor Lorentz (died 2003). She graduated from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA in 1950. Gloria married Peter Pavuk on October 18, 1952; they were happily married for 62 years. Gloria and Pete had 4 children, sons Matthew (deceased 2008) and Mark of Waretown, NJ, and twin daughters Barbara (Perry) Recker of Swissvale and Jean (Bob) Beck of Palm Bay, FL. She also had 6 grandchildren, Julie Pavuk of Oakland, CA, Gloria (Kyle) Engdahl of Racine, WI, Susan (Trevor) Smith of Chalfant, PA, Alice (Kevin) Pawlowski of Aston, PA, Sarah Beck and Abigail Beck of Tampa, FL and great-granddaughter Cambria Smith, of Chalfant, PA. Gloria spent most of her life as a homemaker, raising her 4 children with love, and known for her welcoming home and healthy, delicious cooking. In her later years, she worked briefly as a unit clerk at Jefferson Hospital; used her love of the Spanish language as a substitute Spanish teacher; and greatly enjoyed tutoring foreign-born students in English. She was very active in her church, Wilson Presbyterian, where she volunteered regularly, participated in Bible studies and women’s activities, and sang in the adult choir. She enjoyed reading and traveling; a particularly memorable trip was to Japan in 1983. Gloria was predeceased by husband Peter Pavuk (2015). Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. Margaret "Peggy" Ruth (McCullough) Clark

Margaret "Peggy" Ruth (McCullough) Clark of White Oak, Pennsylvania, peacefully went Home to be with her Heavenly Father on November 12, 2023 after a long and full life with God and her family.

She was born in Braddock, Pennsylvania on October 29, 1941, to the late Alec McCullough and Mary Ruth Brady. She lived in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, most of her life, as well as part time in Clearwater, Florida.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas Clark, with whom she faithfully shared 63 years of marriage, and for whom she affectionately poured out her life. Together, they raised four children: Tom, Barb, Joe & Becky, all of whom have been profoundly impacted by her selfless, uncomplaining, hardworking life. She also was beloved and respected grandma to twenty-three grandchildren and great grandma to twelve.

She trusted Christ as her Savior as a young girl and subsequently lived her life in unwavering service to Him. She read her Bible daily, prayed to God in faith, was a committed member of the McKeesport and Tampa Gospel Halls, and was well known for opening her home in warm hospitality to God’s people.

William C. "Bull" Dusi, 66, of Clairton, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023. He was born August 19, 1957 in Wiesbaden, Germany and was the son of the late George Lucas Dusi, Sr. and Ruth A. (Rothey) Dusi. He was the husband of the late Michele Marie "Shelly" (Martin) Dusi, who passed away January 6, 2023.  Bull was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and currently worked for over 20 years at ELG Metals in McKeesport and looked forward to retiring in March of 2024.  He loved to watch football and cooking shows. Bull loved vacationing in Florida at he and his wife's favorite resort, Ocean East, where they went for two weeks every September and made many friends.  Bull loved his family and loved spending time with them.  He was also known for his love of motorcycles,a great sense of humor,  his kind heart and loyalty and as a hardworking man that would help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed.

Carol Ann Barney Dixon, 77, of Irwin, passed away Sunday, November 12th, 2023, in the hospital. She was born June 25, 1946, in Washington, PA, the youngest child of Omar L. Barney and Louisa F. (Stoner) Barney. She was a proud 1964 graduate of Washington High School and she was very proud of her years in the Girls Scouts organization. Following a brief career in sales, Carol acted as a caregiver to many individuals in her life including both of her parents, her Aunt Midge and her late husband. She enjoyed socializing with friends, craft shows, afternoon soap operas, and doo-wop music. She was also a huge fan of Pittsburgh sports teams and a longtime lover of frogs. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 43 years, William “Billy” Dixon; her sister Lois A. Baynes; her lifelong best friend, Beverlee Reynolds; and her faithful dog, Rudi. She is survived by daughters Stephanie A. Dixon (Cliff Howard) of Irwin, and Stacy A. Barbour (Michael Barbour) of Greensburg; brother, William Barney (Gwen Barney), of McKees Rocks; two grandchildren, Jenna and Andy Barbour; several nieces and nephews; and her close friend, Charlene Reynolds. Sally Joy Irwin, 84, of North Huntingdon, passed away, Monday, November 6, 2023 at Juniper Village in Monroeville. She was born May 4, 1939, a daughter of the late Rev. Lawrence Robert and Ruth (Brown) Van Horn. Her father was the former pastor of East McKeesport Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She was valedictorian of the 1957 graduating class at East McKeesport High School and a 1960 graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her retirement, Sally worked as a registered nurse at various facilities in numerous home health capacities. She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church, McKeesport. She’s survived by her husband of 63 years, Karl F. Irwin; a sister, Laurel Ruth Stoner and her husband, James C. of Cabot, PA,: three cousins and many friends. A time of remembrances with family will be from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA  15642.
