Robert "RowBoat” G. Stevens, age 82 of Clairton, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at home.  Born October 9, 1940 in Clairton, he was a son of the late James and Louise (Murray) Stevens.  A retiree from Eastman Chemical in West Elizabeth, Robert was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the VFW Post #803 and American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75, both of Clairton, and, after his retirement from Eastman, worked at Debbie's Clairton Coffee Shop.  Robert was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen R. (Zubovich) Stevens, who passed away June 15, 1993, and is survived by his daughter Patricia Stevens of Munhall, his sister Janice McGowan of South Park, and his brother James Stevens of Florida.

Johnston, age 63 of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born August 18, 1959 in Columbus, OH, he was a son of the late John D. and Cora Sure (Hugos) Johnson.  A member of Pine Run United Methodist Church in Clairton, Mark was a truck driver, working for many companies over the years.  He was a former Mason, associated with the Demolay Boys and Rainbow Girls, was a Boy Scouts of America troop leader, and also served as a staff member at the Heritage Boy Scout Camp.  He is survived by his wife of 26 years Mari Jo (Cornish) Johnston; his children Eric (Ashley) Johnston of Monongahela, Christopher (Alexis) Johnson of New Mexico, and Ashley (Michael) Schroeder of Clairton; his grandchildren Isabella Johnston and Lilleth Schroeder; his sister Shari (Kelly) Harrison of Spring, TX; and also nieces and nephews.

Marlene is survived by her niece, Lisa Novacek of Elizabeth Township; nephews, Ralph (Cathy) Ashbaugh of Yorbalinda, CA, and Gary (Marsha) Ashbaugh of Pittsburgh; great-nephews, Luke & Max Novacek, and Alex, Michael, and Anderson "Andie" Ashbaugh. Stouffer, 41, of North Irwin, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Forbes Regional Hospital.  He was born,  July 14, 1982 in Jeannette, beloved son of Debra Marks Coulter and her husband, Duke.  Marty was a route salesman for Schwebel's Bakery Company and was a graduate of Hempfield Sr. High School Class of 2001.  He was an avid Detroit Lions fan, Pittsburgh Pirates fan, enjoyed his football get-togethers, fantasy football and loved spending time with his daughters.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Alice Marks. He is survived by his wife, Beth (Dunlap) Stouffer; daughters, Allie and Haley Stouffer; sister, Kelly (Walter) Pittenger; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Colleen Dunlap; brother-in-law, Michael Dunlap; sister-in-law, Heather Dunlap; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and many close friends.  Friends will be received on Monday from 2-7 p.m. at the James W. Frances "Cookie" V. Bindas, age 80 of Clairton, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born March 8, 1943 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Barbara L. (Demchak) Popchak.  A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church, Frances was a elementary school teacher at St. Clare Elementary,  an assistent teacher at Mt. Lebanon Montessori, and opened and retired from the St. Clare Montessori. She was also  a CCD teacher and director of religious education at the former St. Joseph's Parish.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael "Mickey" Bindas, who passed away on February 5, 1998, and her sisters Rose Marie Wilkerson and Sr. Barbara Popchak.

He was an ironworker and he retired from Allegheny County Works Department and was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish formerly St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport. Roe and Bernice loved to travel to Hawaii, the Bahamas, Alaska and many national parks. They bought a house that was over 100 years old and spent many years remodeling and improving it.

Tai 'Mir Maurice Malloy-Davidson, age 2, of Glassport, Pennsylvania, affectionately known as Nunny Bookie, Baby Tru, Baby Man, Tater Tot, Baby Tai, and Two-Step was born November 3, 2020, at 1:48 pm at UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the beloved son of Tai 'Mir Young-Davidson and Aniya Malloy.

Tai 'Mir departed this life peacefully surrounded by his loving family at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, on August 10, 2023.

Tai 'Mir loved to sing, Cocomelon, and Dinosaurs. He sang more than he talked! “Thoughts that he may have been singing with the angels” He learned how to count from 1-20 and he knew his ABCs too. He loved walking around playing with the remote control and he controlled ALL the TVs in the house! He brought so much joy & happiness into all our lives and everyone he encountered. Although his time with us was brief, Tai 'Mir will always and forever be in our hearts and minds.

Nina Akins Johnson

Nina Akins Johnson, 79, of McKeesport, was born January 15, 1944, in Duquesne, PA. She was the beloved daughter to the late Virgil and Katie Sommers Akins. Nina departed this life on August 9, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Nina attended school in the Duquesne City School District. After graduating she later enrolled in CCAC and received her associate's degree in child development. Nina loved working with children and used her education to become a teacher at the rec center in Crawford Village in McKeesport PA.

She was a second “mom” to so many children and she loved her role and enjoyed teaching them every day. She was also employed with the Louise Child Care Program and the Outreach Center at the YMCA in McKeesport, PA. She loved spending time with her family. One fond memory was her traveling with her children to Las Vegas. A family trip they will always cherish.

William Elias Jacobs

William Jacobs, 100 years old of Boca Raton, formerly of Jefferson Hills/Clairton passed away on August 11, 2023. He was born in McKeesport Hospital on March 12, 1923, to Jacob Mike Jacobs and Naffa Audi Jacobs (immigrants from Lebanon). William (Jake) has rejoined his beloved wife, Dolores Richel Jacobs (she was one of 10 siblings).

William (Jake) was preceded in death by six sisters and brothers (Manira, Nazara, Annie, Evelyn, Michael & George).

He is survived by his three children, Linda Costolo, William Jacobs & Dennis Jacobs. Margaret George, 99 years old from Lebanon, KY is his only surviving sibling. William has a plethora of grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Florida and Texas. William also has a slew of nieces and nephews located all over the world.

William (Jake) graduated Clairton High School to go into the Army for the Second World War. He is a WWII veteran and has been awarded the Purple Heart. Michael Jacobs and George Jacobs, his brothers, were also veterans of WWII and the Korean War respectively.

William retired from US Steel (Clairton Works) after about 35 years. He was an avid gardener, producing grapes, various fruits, vegetables, walnuts, and blackberries on his property. Above all, William loved his family members, of which there are many. William was a quiet man, living by the saying “Talk only when it is an improvement to the silence”. He will be missed by all that knew him. His journey continues!

Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 AM at S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. A service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. to be followed by interment at Jefferson Memorial Park with military honors.
