Jean A. (Loretta) Brown, age 70 of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 in Jefferson Hospital. Born January 27, 1953 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Margaret A. (Shamya) Loretta. Jean was a radiology secretary for Jefferson Hospital. She went to Jesus and was a strong and independent Christian. Jean had a deep love for animals. Jean is survived by her sisters Mary Rose Odenthal of North Huntingdon and Judith Ann Loretta of Greentree; her niece Tanya Curry and nephew Michael (Deeble) Allsbrooks. Special thanks to Kristie Bodnar, Barb Cope and the Jefferson Hospital nurses.

Eileen D. Jamison, age 95 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Born January 20, 1928 in Port Vue, she was the daughter of the late Charles Albright Daugherty and Irene Anna (Crossland) Daugherty. A master's degree recipient from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, Eileen was a member of the Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church, the Garden Club of McKeesport, and the former McKeesport Symphony Women's Guild. Eileen’s hobbies included playing scrabble and working on crossword puzzles. She had many wonderful friends and enjoyed traveling with them. She provided especially wonderful entertainment for her large family with pool parties and holiday dinners. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, the late Stephen Quay Jamison, who passed away June 12, 1981, her son Karl Q. (Lynn) Jamison, her sister Emma Jane Pattison, her great-granddaughter Alyssa Abels and her niece Irene Pattison Delaquil. Eileen is survived by her children Jay (Beth) Jamison of Elizabeth Twp., Amy Jamison of Elizabeth Twp., and Laurie Knisely of Port Matilda; her grandchildren Stephen (Lin) Jamison, Paul (Elizabeth) Jamison, and Wesley Jamison; Jillian (Alex Newman) Woolridge, Ainsley (Dylan Glatt) Woolridge, and Virginia (Brandon Hubbard) Woolridge; Emily (Adam) Knisely-Kirley, John (Cherise Koslop) Knisely, Scott (Kate) Jamison, Kristen (Adam) Abels, and David (Haley) Jamison; her nineteen great-grandchildren; her nieces Kem (Jerry) Morgan and Stephanie (Vince) DiLeo; and nephew David Clark.

Kathleen “Kathi” Ann (Swalwell) Vamosi, age 74, of Port Vue, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She was born June 12, 1948, in McKeesport. She is survived by Alex “Shaun” Vamosi and their children Erin (Rob) Vamosi, Megan (Howard) Huss, and Nathan (Caitlyn) Vamosi, her grandchildren Noah, Scarlett and their dad Jamie Wall, Emma, Allysen, and Brenna, her sister Pamela DeMarchi, brother-in-law James Latine, niece Stacey DeMarchi, and nephews Jason DeMarchi and Dustin Swalwell. She was preceded in death by her parents Regina (Luty) and Robert Swalwell, her sister Debra Latine, and brothers Robert Swalwell Jr. and Thomas Swalwell. Kathleen graduated from Port Vue/Liberty High School in 1966 and went on to Duff’s Business School. She started her career at Duquesne University, then worked at St. Peter’s Child Development and Chee-Chee’s Resale Shop. She eventually retired in 2008 from Glenshire Woods Personal Care Home in McKeesport as business office manager. She loved her family beyond measure. She helped us all navigate life and sacrificed everything for her family. Every holiday and birthday were made special by her. She was an avid “Friends” watcher along with old movies, especially “It’s a Wonderful Life”. She and her sister Pam were die-hard Pirates’ fans, and she shared her love of the Pittsburgh Steelers with all of us. We would like to thank AHN Hospice Care, especially Christa and Leigh, who both took such great care of her and loved talking baseball with her.

Dennis Edward Katona was born November 18, 1986. He was primarily raised between Allegheny and Westmoreland County. He is the son of Dennis “Rooster” Andrew Katona (Sherri) and Karensue (Hallas) Katona. He is survived by brother, Joseph Michael Katona, sister, Shelly Beth (Kent) Ryan, nieces, Kami and Kennah Ryan. Furthermore, maternal grandmother, Marsha, aunts, Beth (Tony) and Terry, uncles, George and Kenneth, cousins Krista (Sebastian), Kelsey, Christopher (Christopher and Skye), and Dylan. Dennis is preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Mary (Morgan) Katona, paternal grandfather, Joseph Andrew Katona, maternal grandfather Stanley Hallas, and great-grandparents, Albina (Hannum) and William Pellegrino.

Ardath A. Kayner, 87, formerly of East McKeesport, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 8, 2023. She was born February 25, 1936 in Jamestown, New York, a daughter of the late Arthur A. and Anna (Danielson) Anderson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Jon L. Kayner, her brother Arthur A. Anderson II, and sister-in-law Judith Kayner. She was a member of Cornerstone Ministries of Export PA, and worked as a secretary for Robert Lee Accounting, in Erie when she resided there. Ardath enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and was a talented knitter of clothing.

Mark “Wink” Winkler, aka “Pap Walnut”, age 67, of Glassport, PA, died on Saturday, April 8, 2023. He was born in Glassport on February 20, 1956 and is the son of the late Theodore Ray and Sue Merritt Winkler. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was later employed as an auto body technician at various companies throughout Allegheny County. He enjoyed going to Keystone Lake and working on cars. His favorite color was blue, and his favorite flowers are lilacs and hydrangeas.
