Larry R. Nelson, age 66, of McKeesport, died January 8, 2021, at home. Born October 10, 1954, in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late James and Pearl (Baker) Nelson and the husband of Diana Diaz-Nelson.
Larry was retired from AT & T, where he worked in I.O.C., international customer service. He enjoyed collecting action figures and customizing action figures. He cared.

Carl Wallace Amman, age 90, of White Oak, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021. He was born in Pittsburgh, on August 21, 1930 and is the son of the late Carl Wallace Amman and the late Amelia Sior Kelly. He worked as a draftsman in the engineering department and later retired as a foreman for US Steel National Works McKeesport. He also worked at the former Dunn Corporation in Carnegie for many years. He was also a very active member in the Beulah Park United Methodist Church.

Edmund Chiaverini, age 97, of McKeesport, died January 12, 2021. Born January 1, 1924, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Louis and Mary (Ferry) Chiaverini and the husband of the late Elizabeth A. (DeFelice) Chiaverini.
Edmund was retired from US Steel, where he was a maintenance supervisor. Edmund was a WWll US Army veteran and served in Central Burma as part of the 3150th Signal Service Company. A member of the Mary Mother of God Parish, Edmund had a deep love of major league baseball, the New York Yankees, and watching old reruns of Columbo and Gunsmoke.

Sporio, age 91 of Clairton, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.   Born October 20, 1929 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Luisa (Volpe) Macioce.  A member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Madeline joins her husband, the late Lawrence Sporio, who passed away February 1, 1993.  She is survived by her sons Vincent (Sandy) Sporio of Clairton, Robert (Beverly) Sporio of Jefferson Hills, and Larry Sporio of Clairton; her grandchildren Gina, Leah (Jonathan Opiela), Michael, and Victor (Carol) Sporio, Jessica (Bob) Marlow, Sarah (Jamie) Elkowitz, and Amber (David) Herschelroth; her great-grandchildren Savannah Sporio, Sadie, Bode, and Riley Marlow, Ally and Essey Elkowitz, Abigail Sporio, Tamar, Eve, and Cy Herschelroth, Carly and Victor Sporio, and Holly Elkowitz; her sister Virginia (the late Joe) Sebastian of Clairton; and many nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband and parents, Madeline was preceded in death by her late sister Mary (the late John) DeRubeis.

James E. Belak, 87, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday January 10, 2021, due to complications from the covid virus. He was born September 2, 1933 in Penn Township, the son of the late Charles and Mary (Belak) Valero. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his beloved son Brett C. Belak. He was the founder of Belak Flowers which he started on November 1, 1960 in Irwin where he worked until his semi-retirement at the age of 65. He greeted everyone with a smile, kind word, and encouragement.

In recent years he had an online business selling mosaics called Mosaics by Kaleb. He was loved by many and will be missed by everyone. Jim graduated from Penn-Joint High School, Class of 1951, where he played basketball and football. He also took a few business classes at Penn State University. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Irwin, where he served on church council for many years.

He was the co-owner of the former Vienna Bakery in McKeesport, and was later employed in the Marketing Dept. of Equitable Resources in Pittsburgh. Burt was a former member of Tree of Life Sfard and was a WWII Army Veteran.

Brown, who passed away April 5, 2019.  A devout and active member of St. George's Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral in Pittsburgh, Evelyn worked for many years as a clerk at Clairton Hardware.  In her spare time, she was an avid and accomplished bowler, participating in many travelling leagues, and was a self taught seamstress who loved to sew.  Evelyn is survived by her sister Della Benbow of Sanger, CA and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.  Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Helen Kislan, Alberta Miller, Salem M. Green, and Jenny Zender.
