LaVerne Marie Milner, 98, of Richmond, VA, formerly of Irwin, peacefully transitioned to Heaven on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. She was born January 12, 1922 to Arthur and Bessie McWilliams of Turtle Creek.
After completing high school in Wilmerding, LaVerne was employed as a secretary by Westinghouse Air Brake in their general office. Later in life, she volunteered at Greensburg Hospital, taking newborn baby pictures and was then employed as a salesclerk in the gift shop.
LaVerne was a loving mother and wonderful caregiver to family, friends, and neighbors. She greatly valued family time whether it was welcoming them to her home in Irwin, taking yearly beach trips to the Outer Banks, or celebrating special events such as birthdays and weddings. LaVerne was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Irwin and was guided by her faith to care for others.

A most strong and courageous woman who never complained about anything, “Ron” or “Roni” was a longtime cancer survivor who also endured many years with Alzheimer's disease.
Wife of 70 years to the late Alfred J. "Ike" Huwalt, Jr. Cherished mother of Patrice H. Bennett, Mark A. Huwalt, Lynne M. (Michael) Mercilliott, and Lisa H. (Jeff) Lampo. Adored grandmother of Ian (Bridget O'Neil) Bennett, Mark (Elaine) Bennett, Sean (Stephanie) Mercilliott, Kevin Mercilliott, Matthew Atwood, Jesse Huwalt, Brenden Lampo; and great-grandmother of Elizabeth, Helena, and Patrick Bennett. Loving sister of Dolores Burgman; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Veronica was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred "Ike" J. Huwalt, Jr., in January of 2020, daughter in-law, Lynn A. Huwalt, parents, Joshua Samuel "Sam" and Mary Leschak Pearson, and her brother, Samuel Pearson.

Dennis J. Plecenik, 68, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 at home. He was born June 27, 1951 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Anna Plecenik. Dennis graduated from Trafford High School in 1969. He was a veteran of the US Army and worked at WABCO till 1986 and retired from the VA Medical Center on Highland Drive. He loved taking his grandchildren to the hunting camp in Brookville, riding four wheelers, fishing, hunting and had many good friends at camp. He loved golfing with his golf league and enjoyed spending time with all his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Aaron; father-in-law, Robert Smith; and sister-in-law, Sue Smith. Andrew "Andy" Zobel, 96, of North Versailles, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020. He was born April 6, 1924 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Joe "Gusieppi" and Giovanina (DeRose) Zobel. He was a 1942 graduate of McKeesport High School and was proprietor of the former Zobel's Grill in Christy Park. He was also retired from the John Groves Company. Joan worked as a cook, first for Keck's Restaurant in Clairton, then US Steel Clairton Works, and finishing in the Canteen at Westinghouse Corp. She was also a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, the Women's Guild of Clairton, the Sacred Heart Spiritual Society, and the Christian Mothers of the former St. Paulinas Church.
