Elizabeth A. (Komondor) Lux, 95, of Glassport died Oct. 21, 2018. She is the wife of the late Edwin A. Lux, Sr. and is survived by her step daughter, Irma Boda; also nieces and nephews. James F. Svec, age 78, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Jefferson Hospital. A retired group benefits administrator for Alcoa in Pittsburgh, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Twp. He was also a member of the East McKeesport Masonic Lodge #765 of Duquesne, the North Huntingdon AARP, a lifetime member of the Central Volunteer Fire Company, and was a former civil service coordinator in Elizabeth Twp. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing dart ball at Central Highlands.

Sarah “Sally” C. Petras, age 79 of McKeesport, died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at LGAR Health & Rehabilitation Center, Turtle Creek, PA. She was born March 15, 1939 in New Eagle, PA, the daughter of the late Daniel M. and Lois Seng Plummer. In her early years Sally worked at R.E. Kaplan Furniture, Pittsburgh Playhouse, Hamil Manufacturing and Johnston the Florist. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes and costumes for her daughter. Her greatest joy was tending to her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leslie F. Petras; daughter, Danielle Anthony of N. Huntingdon; brother, Daniel Plummer of Santa Monica, CA; and grandchildren, Katherine Rose and Gabriel J. Anthony.

A former member of Bethesda United Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth, he was a school bus driver with Matthews Bus Garage and a former starter at Butler's Golf Course.

Irene “Rene” Ruth Harmon Stokes, 94, of Clairton, formerly of Elrama, passed away at Lawson’s Nursing Home Friday, October 19, 2018 to be received into the everlasting arms of our Savior. She was born October 3, 1924, in Finleyville, to the late Kinzy F. and Annie Mae Tulloh Harmon. Irene was a loving wife, of 70 years, to the late Robert I. Stokes. She is survived by daughters, Deborah S. (William) Straub of Daniels, WV, Gayle S. Colonna of Clairton; son, Gary R. (Cheryl) Stokes of McKeesport; grandchildren, Rebekah Straub of Lexington, KY, Abbey Miller of Trafford, Jennifer Colonna of Portland, OR, Meghan (Frank) Walker of New Albany, OH, Leland Colonna of Clairton; great-grandchildren, Baylee, Finlee, Rylee, Bentlee; loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Along with her parents and spouse, Irene was preceded in death by siblings; Phoebe O’Dell, Edith Bardyn, Marge Jenkins, William Harmon, Merle Stout, Albert Harmon, Kathleen Parish, Leonard Harmon, Eloise Brallier, and Lena Mae Cowden. She was a graduate of Clairton High School and attended Duff’s School of Business. Irene was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, church, and spending time with her family. Visitation will take place Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 6 – 8 pm at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the funeral home followed by interment at Mount Vernon Cemetery. William G. Conroy, 99, formerly of Elizabeth Township, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Solaris Health Care in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born in Duquesne, March 6, 1919, he was the son of the late Patrick and Mammie Gerber Conroy. Husband of the late Betty J. Hawthorne Conroy, he is survived by his son, Leslie H. (Cheryl) Conroy of Statesville, NC, by his daughter, Barbara K. (Richard) Harris of Port Charlotte, FL, and by 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Conroy was the owner of Heavenly Homes of Liberty Borough, was a member, elder and trustee of the former Immanuel Presbyterian Church in McKeesport, was a member of Aliquippa Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, and served in WW II with the U.S. Coast Guard. A service will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Mount Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Jay Hollingsworth officiating.
