Wilbert “Bill” C. Gobbel, age 87 of Elizabeth Twp., formerly of McKeesport, died September 21, 2017 at Kane Regional Center - McKeesport. Born March 2, 1930 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Wilbert J. and Elizabeth (Purkiss) Gobbel and the husband of the late Carole (Lynch) Gobbel for 64 years. Bill worked for U.S. Steel National Tube Works as a rigger for 37 years. He belonged to McKeesport Turners and the 11th Ward Club and he loved to take his grandchildren fishing when they were younger, all 12 of them. Bill is survived by sons, Timothy, Terri (Vanessa), and Todd (Deanne) Gobbel; grandchildren, Matthew, Eric, Jason, Patrick, Nathan, Lori Morgan, Josh, Rebekah, Aaron, Amber, and Zac; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Elayne Sparico; daughter-in-law, Diane Gobbel and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Rev. Scott Gobbel; daughter-in-law, Pamela Gobbel; grandson, Guy Gobbel; great-grandson, Luke Gobbel; brother, Donald Gobbel and sister-in-law, Betty Gobbel. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. PAUL HOYDICH age 87, of Rochester, PA, formerly of Duquesne, on September 21, 2017. He was a son of the late Paul and Justina (Repella) Hoydich; he was a retired TV repairman and salesman. He was a former member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Duquesne. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. Robert Jones, 87, of West Mifflin died Sept. 22, 2017 at Cranberry Place. Born July 11, 1930 in Duquesne, the son of the late Robert and Hazel (Ring) Jones. He is the husband of the late Margaret (Lash) Jones. Bob is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Richard) Corrins; grandchildren Mellisa (Tony) Ross, Jessie Corrins and Greg (Krystina) Corrins; and great grandchildren Nathan, Lilly and Sophia Ross. Arlene R. (Bobak) Williams, 71, of McKeesport, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017. She was born January 9, 1946 in Turtle Creek, the daughter of the late Rev. Arlene was a member of Greater Works Outreach, Monroeville, where she was a part of the GAP ministry and a spiritual mother to many. She was the former host of Cornerstone Ministries Television, At Home With Arlene Williams, and also a co-host of the Signs and Wonders segment of the television show Real Life at CTV. Arlene had a great love for people and was loved by many. She was an avid Pirates fan.

Carl E. Short, 54, of Greensburg, died Thursday September 15, 2017. He was born June 3, 1963, in McKeesport, a son of Larry Short and the late Dorothy Ann Taylor. Carl Short was an ordained minister and committed to community service and helping the lives of others.
The last years of his life were spent helping the lives of people suffering from addiction and mental illness, working with the Democratic Party to promote positive change, and ministering throughout the community. He was an excellent cook, a sharp dresser, and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to laugh, make others smile and laugh, and watch scary movies with his family and friends. He loved his children and his grandchildren dearly. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many relatives whom he loved.
Carl is survived by his seven children, Justin short and wife, Paula; Shamira Gelin and husband, Jean; KC Short, Shawn Short, Shakeem Short, Kelli Short, and Lamicah Short; four grandchildren, Jayden Gelin, Ava Gelin, Sophia Short, and Amara Gelin; his uncles James Taylor and Tony Taylor, their children and grandchildren; his aunts Brenda Lawrence and Shirley Weatherspoon, their children and grandchildren; his sister Kimberly Jones and her children, and his siblings, Herman Jordan, Gary Smith III, Lakitta Smith, Kimberly Jordan, Paul Baker, and Malik Smith, as well as many relatives too numerous to mention.
