Sandra Lee Pastirik, 65, of McKeesport, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at home. She was born November 13, 1951 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Michael and Naomi Beisler Pastirik. Sandra was a graduate of South Allegheny High School and worked in the business office of UPMC McKeesport. She is survived by sister, Clea N. (Larry) Kirkwood of Lincoln Borough, brother, Michael P. (Gale) Pastirik of North Huntingdon, nieces, Lori Kirkwood and Nancy (Steve) Mlinarich and nephews, Paul (Michelle) Kirkwood, Michael (Heidi) Pastirik, Jr. and David McClelland.

Eleanor Gettler Peckman, 85, of Ashburn, VA, formerly of Elizabeth Twp., died October 23, 2017. She was born May 13, 1932 in Monessen, PA and was the daughter of the late Howard and Pearl Madigan Gettler. She was the wife of 57 years to the late Russell C. Peckman, who died December 17, 2016. Eleanor was a member of the Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church and was retired elementary music teacher from the Elizabeth Forward School District after 30 years of service. Eleanor was a 1954 graduate of Seton Hill College and a 1950 graduate of McKeesport High School. She is survived sons, Neil Peckman of Pasadena, MD and Wade and his wife Julie of Broadlands, VA, grandchildren, Jamie, Zoe, and Liam, nieces and nephews.

She was born May 6, 1952 in Altoona and was the daughter of the late Dean and Dorothy Watts Wilson. She was a member of the West Hempfield Presbyterian Church and was a retired Registered Nurse at Westmoreland Hospital where she had worked in the Intensive Care Unit and Recovery Room. Minnie Barbara Abrams Simon, 100. Born in McKeesport on January 2, 1917, she was the daughter of Abraham and Helen Abrams. Her husband Abraham G. Simon preceded her in death. Minnie graduated from McKeesport High School in 1934. She worked as a bookkeeper for Traczynski Meatpacking Company on White Street for many years until her eyesight began to fail her. She was a member of the Anshe Sfard and Gemilas Chesed Synagogues. She was active in the Gemilas Chesed Sisterhood, a member of McKeesport's chapter of Hadassah and B'Nai Brith. Despite her limited sight, she became known for her creative flower and fruit arrangements for celebrations at the synagogue. When asked how she was able to design arrangements without being able to see well, Minnie would say, “I see it in my mind and then it is easy.” With a group of Jewish women in McKeesport, Minnie was part of a monthly “study group” that discussed books, most related to Judaism, led by Tree of Life Synagogue Rabbi Edmond Neiss. She and Abe moved to Pembroke Pines, FL in 1978 where she lived until 2014 when she came to live with her daughter in Philadelphia. Mother of Dr. Elaine Simon of Philadelphia, PA and Dr. Richard Simon of Pembroke Pines, FL. Grandmother of Claire and Nora Crawford of Philadelphia. Pre-deceased by her siblings, Max, Sara, Molly, Sam, and Lilly. Graveside service will take place Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Tree of Life/Sfard Cemetery with Rabbi Moshe Russell officiating.
