Richard D. Sarver, age 100, of North Versailles, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017. He was born May 11, 1917, in Berlin, PA, son of the late Jacob and Sara Ellen (Stevanus) Sarver. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Clara M. (Altfather) Sarver; brothers Edgar, Robert, and Glenn Sarver; and sisters Olive Jones and Vera Deist. He is survived by his sons Lynn (Betsy) Sarver, Larry (Maria) Sarver and Blaine (Lisa) Sarver; grandchildren Jeff Sarver, Michael (Ashley) Sarver, Paul (Kim) Sarver, Lexi (Justin) Coulthurst, Abbey Miller, Arianne (Allan) Ward, Noelle Sarver and Mallory Sarver; and great grandchildren Caleb, Ian, Ryan, Molly, Connor and Emma Sarver, Ethan and Sydney Coulthurst, and Maverick Ward. He was employed by the Union Railroad for 37 years and also a member of the URR chorus.

Margaret D. Kern, 90, of Greenock, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017. She was born December 20, 1926 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rena Bullister Donnelly. She was the wife of the late Albion Ray Kern who died February 1, 2002. Together they owned and operated the former Sunray Pools in McKeesport. She had previously worked in the accounting department of the former Carnegie Tech in Oakland. She is survived by her son, Gary R. (Shelley) Kern of Elizabeth Township, daughters, Janet (Dean) Harbry of Atlanta, GA, and Karen Greenwald of Greenock, grandchildren, Heather, Amber, Zoe, Shannon, Evan, Ryan, Liam, Erin, Megan, Kern, and Keith, 12 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Edward James Maloney, age 89 of McKeesport, died September 9, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport. Born November 26, 1927 in Homestead, he was the son of the late Edward James and May (Sibley) Maloney, and loving husband of Lois Jean (Gilda) Maloney for 59 years. Edward honorably served in the US Army 88th Infantry Division during WWII. Following his military service, he worked for Firth Sterling Mill in McKeesport and later went to work for the City of McKeesport for their maintenance department. Ed was also a talented painter, devoting his time to painting houses and working on roofing jobs. He was a member of the AMVETS and American Legion. In his free time, he enjoyed drawing and sketching, however his biggest passion was spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Tony) Sherlock-Fonzi of McKeesport; grandchildren, Patrick (Laura) Sherlock, Crystal Sherlock, Anthony Fonzi and Darius Fonzi; great-grandchildren, Tyson and Emmit Sherlock; brother, William Maloney; brothers-in-law, Gene Dandrea and Lavino Dandrea; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Maloney; sister, May Maloney; and nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. with a Blessing Service at 5 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with continued visitation until 7 p.m. Deacon Stephen C. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea that went on to work in the payroll department of the Post Office in Pittsburgh for over 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in East McKeesport and the American Legion in White Oak and was an avid bowler that enjoyed events with the Senior Bowlers in North Versailles. He is preceded in death by his parents Francesco A. and Cecelia (Weis) Miriello; and brothers Alfred, Richard, Leonard and Eugene Miriello. He is survived by his wife of over 67 years Dorothea L. (Mitchell) Miriello; children David F. (Suzann) Miriello and Lisa F. (Karl Probola) Miriello; grandson Anton Raphael (Rachel) Miriello; and brothers Raymond and Kenneth (Mary) Miriello.

II, Brandon K. and Corrine D.; loving companion Mary Shubert and his dog Mia.
