Robert worked as a printer at the Daily News for over thirty years before he retired. He was a lifetime volunteer fireman for the White Oak Fire Department and was an avid fisherman and gardener.

She was born January 28, 1935 in McKeesport the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Bumbarger) Guyer and was also preceded in death by her husband Nicholas P. Yelich and a brother Glenn Guyer. She was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service with over twenty years’ service. She was a member of West Newton United Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and former junior and senior choir director for 35 years, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Women’s Association, and the Sewing Circle.

Anthony “Tony” Michael Salvador Jr., 89, of Dravosburg, formerly of Glassport, passed away on Sunday March 5, 2017.  He was born August 9, 1927 in Glassport to the late Anthony M. Sr. and Laura (Craig) Salvador.  He is survived by sons, Anthony M. (Lois) Salvador III of White Oak, Vincent G. (Kathy) Salvador of North Irwin, Howard G. (Lisa) Salvador of Boston, MA; daughters, Sharon A. Karch (Lucian) of Pembroke Pines, FL, Patricia L. Salvador (Charles) of McKeesport, Sara E. Salvador of Kenneth City, FL; significant other, Mary Ann Pici of Versailles; eleven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Along with his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by wife, Anne M. (Laird) Salvador; brother, Howard Salvador; sisters, Ellen Tambella and Betty Corletti.  He enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 during WWII.  Upon discharge, he became a reservist and was reactivated during the Korean War. He was part of the Atlantic Fleet, during both periods of service, aboard the USS Currituck and USS Worcester where he was a storekeeper/trainer. Tony was a member of the Dravosburg United Methodist Church where he was a Trustee, usher, and member of the Methodist Men. He also enjoyed spending his leisure time ballroom dancing. He retired from Copperweld Steel Company in Glassport, was a member & past officer of United Steelworkers Union Local 1407, a past commander of American Legion “Burt Foster” Post 361 in McKeesport, and a member of American Legion Post 701 in White Oak. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm at I. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 203 4th Street, Dravosburg,  PA   15034. Service will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 9, 2017   at Dravosburg United Methodist Church followed by interment at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon with full military honors. Vincent E. Wassel

Vincent E. Wassel, age 54, of McKeesport, died March 4, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born October 2, 1962, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Robert and Dolores (Clark) Wassel and the husband of Kimberly (Picketts) Wassel for 32 loving years.
Vincent was the Deputy Fire Chief, of the McKeesport Fire Department, Station # 190. In the line of duty he acquired cancer and after a year and a half long battle, he gave the ultimate sacrifice. Vincent’s life and death was true to The Fireman’s Prayer: “I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me, to guard my every neighbor, and protect his property. And if according to your will, Lord, I have to lose my life, Please bless with your protecting hand, my children and my wife, Amen.”
Vincent was a member of Corpus Christi Church. He was also a member of the Croation Men's Club , in Versailles and the McKeesport, P.N.A. He enjoyed hunting, camping, golfing and most of all spending time with his friends, loving family and his loyal dog, "Meeka." Additionally, he was an avid photo bomber and he had great dance "skills."
In addition to his wife, Vincent is survived by children, Ashleigh (Matthew Paige) Wassel of Jefferson Hills and Vincent “Vinnie” Wassel of McKeesport; siblings, Robert (Wendy) Wassel, Patricia Wassel and Brian Wassel all of White Oak; mother-in-law, Janet Picketts of McKeesport; brother-in-law, Gary (Jennifer) Picketts of North Huntingdon; sister-in-law, Diana (Daniel) Barkovich of Gibsonia; also many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Wassel.
Family, fellow Fireman and friends will be received at the Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 9, 2017, 10 a.m., at Corpus Christi Church. Committal and Fireman’s Honors will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the McKeesport Fire Department, Station 190, 201 Lysle Blvd., McKeesport, PA 15132.

Jack T. Riley, age 86 of McKeesport, died Friday, March 3, 2017.  He was born in McKeesport on April 8, 1930 and is the son of the late Philip and Mary Lacey Riley.  He served in the Army during the Korean War in the 3rd Infantry 7th Armored Division and received the following military medals; Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal (2 Bronze Stars), Combat Infantry Badge, and United Nations Service Medal.  He was retired from US Steel Irvin Works in West Mifflin.  He loved walking and was an avid sports fan, especially the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
He is survived by his partner, Dolores Chancio of McKeesport; son, George A. Sabol of West Mifflin; daughters, Sue A. Edwards of Duquesne, Agnes (Michael) Faulds of West Mifflin; sisters, Helen Uhrin and Nora Riley of Versailles; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Philip and James Riley.
