June F. Snyder, age 92, of White Oak, died peacefully October 11, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends. Born February 26, 1932, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Laura (Smith) Schultz and the wife of the late Paul H. Snyder.
June worked at Thurman's Candy Co. in her earlier years and later retired as a clerk at the former Mann's Drug Store. She was a member of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. June enjoyed shopping for and selling treasures at the local flea markets, playing bingo and cards with her friends and family, and playing the slots at the casino. Above all, she was a proud grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Stella R. Hall, age 90, of White Oak, died October 5, 2024, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport. Born September 25, 1934, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Blank) Taylor and wife of the late Robert J. Hall. When her children were young, the family would take camping trips to Prince Gallitzin State Park and other areas, pitching a tent for weeks. She was a past cook at the White Oak American Legion and a former member of the St. Mary German Church in McKeesport. Stella was always looking for a good deal at second-hand stores and garage sales.

Fernando J. Brandt, age 101, of McKeesport and formerly of New York, died at home on September 9, 2024. Born April 5, 1923, in Caracas, Venezuela, he was the son of the late Guillermo and Louisa (Medina) Brandt and husband of the late Ida Brandt. Fernando moved to McKeesport 30 years ago from New York and enjoyed bowling in a senior league in White Oak. He was clear-minded until the end and always took care of his health. He is survived by a son, Fernando (Anabella) Brandt; grandchildren, Fernando and Veronica Brandt; a brother, Luis Brandt; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Olga, Guillermo, Beatrice, Adolfo, Nelly, and Irma.

Roger A. "Butch" Spurgeon, Jr., age 62, of McKeesport, died at home on September 9, 2024. Born November 29, 1961, in McKeesport, he was the son of Roger Spurgeon, Sr. and the late Virginia (Thayer) Spurgeon and husband of Heidi (Watts) Spurgeon. Roger will be remembered for his love of camp at Deep Creek, where he spent many joyful moments, especially after retirement, enjoying boating on the lake, relaxing by a fire, and playing cards with his family, particularly enjoying spirited games of 500 and Gin. He was also a lifelong Steelers fan, a member of the 11th Ward Club, and a John Wayne fan. Roger's laid-back personality and his penchant for having fun endeared him to those around him, leaving cherished memories that will forever be held dear by his family and friends. His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
