Christy J. Moore, age 51, of McKeesport, formerly Monongahela, PA, died October 17, 2023, at Kane Community Living Center of McKeesport. Born December 14, 1971, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. MacDonald and Louise (James W.) Pastorik Ganss of Decatur, TN.

Christy worked in her early years until her disability would no longer allow her to do so. She graduated from Garfield High School of Virginia Beach, VA, Class of 1989. Christy found peace in reading and enjoyed working on word puzzles.

Margaret V. Estok, age 98, of West Mifflin, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Grandview Estates, in Elizabeth Twp. Born in Duquesne on June 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Lukas and Anna (Majoros) Prokay. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Joseph Church, was a wonderful grandma and it brought her joy to be with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and was an excellent stuffed cabbage maker. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

She was the wife of the late George Estok; mother of Kenneth (Ann) Estok of Dravosburg and late Robert G. “Bobby” Estok; grandmother of Andrew (Robin) Estok of North Huntingdon and Christian Estok of West Mifflin; great grandmother of Andrea Margaret Estok. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Ann Ciglan, Irene Juhasz, Joseph, Alex, James and Edward Prokay.  There will be no services. Burial has taken place at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin, and Rev. Dan D’Antonio officiated.

 


David James Savage

David James Savage, age 29, of North Huntington, died October 15, 2023, at home. Born July 22, 1994, in McKeesport, he was the son of Alfred D. Savage and the late Yvonne (Moore) Savage and the husband of Juile (Shipley) Savage.

David graduated from South Allegheny High School. He truly loved the feeling of freedom and found that while riding his motorcycle.

David is survived by his beloved daughters, Niya and Raylynn; siblings, Kelli Pastore and Kevin Savage; niece, Alaya; and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and extended family.

Toula Pedos, 92, of McKeesport, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 at home. She was born June 10, 1931 in Mingo Junction, OH., and was the daughter of the late John and Bessie (Saffo) Zahardis. She was the wife of the late Gust G. Pedos who passed away March 3, 2022. Toula worked in sales at the former Kaufman's and later Macy's until she was 80 years old. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in White Oak where she also served on the board. She was also a member of the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood, President of St. Markella Philoptochos and was a recipient of  the St. Photios award at church. She was also a former Chairman of International Village.

Daniel Joseph Deemer, age 73, of McKeesport, died October 15, 2023, at home.  Born August 20, 1950, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Helen (Nizinski) Deemer and the husband of Dottie L. (Braucher) Deemer.  Daniel honorably served his county in the Army and was on active duty from 1968 to 1974.  He was stationed in Vietnam and completed his education and training as a Field Wireman.  During his service, he was decorated and awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge of the U.S. Army.  Daniel was a very beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend. A champion of life, whether on or off the field, he was devoted to all that he loved.

George W. Humphreys, Sr., 80, of McKeesport passed away Monday, October 16, 2023. He was born February 5, 1943 in McKeesport and was the son to the late Edward and Isabella (McBride) Humphreys. George was a McKeesport High School graduate and was the Proprietor of 'George W. Humphreys & Sons, Wallpapering & Painting' company. He was very active with his sons baseball teams through the years  - always coaching them and running the baseball organizations. Once he got older, George became an avid boater. He could spend hours on the lake - each minute was greater than the last. He also enjoyed hunting and Vegas. He is survived by his loving wife, Bridget Humphreys; his two sons, George W. (the late Leica) Humphreys, Jr. of McKeesport, and Jason (R. (Holly) Humphreys of White Oak; granddaughter, Lauren Humphreys; and his best friend, his dog, Bradley. Joseph A. "Joe" Cendroski

Joseph A. "Joe" Cendroski, 79 of White Oak, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at home. Joe was born in Glassport on April 7, 1944 and was the son to the late Stephen and Nancy (Kolodziej) Cendroski.  He was a graduate of Glassport High School and lived most of his life in Glassport, working many years for Copperweld and Yarborough Construction. He married the love of his life, Donna Ward, in February of 1966 and has celebrated 57 years together. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Nascar fan, a long time member of the Polish National Alliance, a quick wit, and a great protector of all that he loved - he was man of amazing strength and resilience who fought back after a devastating stroke in 2011. While he was never able to walk again, he adapted to his new life so that he could see his beloved grandchildren grow up.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, archery, listening to music, watching movies, reading and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and sports teams fan. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle (Griffith) Heasley; son, Cody Heasley; sister, Cathy Fefolt and her husband, David; sister-in-law, Wendy (Christopher) Savage; brother-in-law, Jeff (Kim) Griffith; niece and nephew, Riley and Ryan Savage; Godchildren, Sam and Shane; and numerous great friends. Lee E. "Spanky" Zabelsky, 53, of Duquesne, died suddenly on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Born in McKeesport November 29, 1969, He was the son of LaVon "Vonnie" (Poskon) Zabelsky and the late Leo E. Zabelsky. Spanky was the co-owner of Leo's Service Center in Duquesne with his brother Luke and son Jake and was a contract tow operator for the city of Duquesne. Beloved son of LaVon "Vonnie" Zabelsky, Spanky is also survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Stephanie (Gajdos) Zabelsky, a son Jake Steven Zabelsky, a daughter, Jenna Lee Zabelsky, three brothers, Luke Zabelsky, Lane (Tamara) Zabelsky, and Lenny Zabelsky, A sister Lauren Zabelsky, a nephew, Ethan Marec Zabelsky, a niece, Sophia Rose Zabelsky, aunts, uncles, cousins and his father and mother in-law, Joe and Mary Ann Gajdos.

Eleanor Mazurkiewicz, 90, joined her Parents Stanley and Mary (Sopko) Mazurkiewicz and her brothers Stanley, Edward, Theodore and John Mazurkiewicz and sisters Helen Balaban, Josephine Mazurkiewicz and Irene Spisak in Paradise on October 15, 2023.   She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Eleanor was a retired clerk for Thorofare Market and a member of St. Joachim & Anne Parish.  Family was everything to her and she loved being included in all get togethers whether Holidays or just being together.  She always was willing to contribute either by cooking or baking cookies, cakes or pies.   Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Thurs. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.  A funeral mass will be held Fri. 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Church.  Interment following St. Mary's Polish Cemetery.

Ward Scott Kramer, III., 60, of North Versailles, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023.  He was born December 22, 1962 in Wilkinsburg and was the son of Ward Kramer Jr. and Cynthia (Merritts) Kramer of Florida.  Ward obtained his Bachelors Degree in Management Services from Point Park University and went on to work as a Senior Analyst of Professional Services at Becton Dickinson and Company.  He attended the Refuge Church in Manor.  Ward was an award-winning photographer and loved being outside taking pictures.  He was a wonderful “Pappy” to his five grandchildren and loved his family so much.  He was a dedicated and hardworking person, and also enjoyed fishing and landscaping.  He will be greatly missed.

Howell, 92, of North Huntingdon, peacefully passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023.  She was born December 16, 1930, a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Eleanor Tong Beck, and the wife of the late Thomas E. Howell.  The loving, strong, fun and devoted mother to Thomas E. Howell Jr., Carol (Jack) Moore, Kenneth (Susan) Howell.  Grandmother to Amanda (Tim) Golick, Keith (Stephanie) Howell, Alyssa (Jordan) Panicco and Amber Albaugh; great-grandmother to Meadow, Violet, Savannah, Theodore, Melody; and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Also surviving many cousins.  Betty worked at G.C. Murphy Co. in McKeesport and was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour.  She enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and visiting the casinos.  Betty was fun loving and loved all of her family and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the James W. Gary Trbovich, age 68, of McKeesport, died on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was born in McKeesport on September 3, 1955 and is the son of the late Nicholas and Dorothy Kusic Trbovich. He retired as a maintenance director after 30 years of service. He was a lifetime member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport and its Men’s Club. Gary served as an officer for the Junior Tamburitzans of Duquesne, as well as performing with the Balkan Dancers in his younger days. He was deeply engrained in Serbian culture from his church to its music and foods. Gary was an avid gardener and an “all Pittsburgh sport team fanatic”. The true lights of his life were his family, Kumovi, and friends.
