Barbara M. Romesburg, 76, of Lincoln Borough, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She was born in McKeesport on September 6, 1946 and was the daughter to the late Edward and Mary (Furman) Szmuc. Barb was retired from a long time career in the 'Better Sportswear' division at Kaufmann's in Century III. She loved to sit in the sun and read a good book; enjoying time with her grandchildren and taking them to different places, like mini-golf or the aviary; but she also loved the ocean and the family's annual trip to Myrtle Beach.

R. Donald Similo, age 91 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 in UPMC East Hospital, Monroeville. Born September 20, 1931 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Ferino "Pete" and Laura (Maloney) Similo. Don joins his wife, the late Arlene L. (Castor) Similo (1939-2005), to whom he was married for 44 years. He received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. Don started his career at Elizabeth Forward High School, where he was a business teacher as well as a football coach and athletic director. He was employed by California University of Pennsylvania as a financial aid director and accounting professor. After his retirement from Cal, he continued his CPA private practice until 2021. Don was also civically minded and active, serving as an Elizabeth Township Commissioner for 40 years. He was a parishioner of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish - St. Michael's Church where he was a member of the ushers' club, finance committee, and Knights of Columbus. Don was also, as of the date of his passing, the oldest member and past president of the Youghiogheny Country Club. In his spare time, he participated in various golf leagues and was a fan of Penn State Football and Pittsburgh sports teams.

Dennis Rosenberger, 75, of Hanover Park, Ill., left us March 26, 2023. In addition to his adored wife, Eleanor, with whom he would have celebrated his 55th anniversary this fall, he is survived by his daughters, Janice Rosenberger and Nancy (Jose) Gutierrez; granddaughters Elizabeth (James) Hurlbut, Lisa and Heidi Gutierrez, and Great-Grandsons, James and Oscar Hurlbut. He also leaves behind his loving Sister, Karen Miller, and many Cousins. Born and raised in McKeesport, Dennis moved to Illinois in 1970 with his wife. He worked in the steel industry at various levels from beginning to end, retiring in 2020. As requested by him, no funeral or memorial will be held, and interment of his cremains will be private. If you would like to honor his memory, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements were in the care of Grove Memorial Chapel, Elk Grove Village, Ill.

Theodore Panczyk, 99, of North Versailles, passed away Monday, April 03, 2023. He was born September 8, 1923 in Chalfant, a son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Schultz) Panczyk. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty, daughter Janie, brother Francis Panczyk, and sisters Sophia Powell, Jean Martin, Florence Kearns, and Joan Crissman. Ted was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Versailles. He was an Army veteran who served in WWII and the Korean War. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his heroic achievement in action on January 23, 1945 near Bennwihr, France.
He worked for H.J. Heinz Company for 35 years as a purchasing manager. He is survived by his children Nancy Connolly (David Pena) and Carol (Douglas) Miller; grandchildren Nicole Connolly, Matthew Pena, Brendan Miller, and Ethan Miller; also nieces and nephews. Ted is remembered for his keen sense of humor, love of card playing , fan of the Steelers and Pirates, and his kindness that made him a friend to all.

Michael B. Pollock, 35, of McKeesport, died April 4, 2023. He is survived by his mother Patricia Pollock; wife Stephanie (Gould) Pollock; children Wesley, Christine (Will) Kimberly (Alec) and Timothy; granddaughter Zoey; sisters Kayla Pollock and Lauren Ward; brothers William Pollock, Blase (Lallo) Ward, James (Erica) Ward and Nathan Ward; nieces Georgia, Makaya; nephews James, Mason, D.J., Maxelll and Hendrix; also aunts, uncles, cousines and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by father John Farrally, Sr. and grandparents Ken and Rita Pollock. Mike was a member of Citizens Hose Co. #1 in Glassport and Munhall Volunteer Fire Dept. Co. Station #200. Friends received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Wed. from 5 to 7. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help with the funeral costs.

Richard Paul Betzner, 63, of Greenock, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023. He was born May 27, 1959 in McKeesport and was the son of Robert Louis and Alice Mary (Kalo) Betzner of Greenock. Richard worked for Overhead Garage Door of Pittsburgh for over 25 years and was also a co-owner of the former R & R Bicycle Rental in Greenock. He was a 1977 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School.

Larry Stewart Armstrong, 73, of Duquesne, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023. He was born November 24, 1949 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Arthur and Enid Marie (Stewart) Armstrong. Larry worked for over 21 years as a machinist for Westinghouse and later as a driver for numerous transportation companies. He loved baseball, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and also enjoyed reading and learning about history. Most importantly he loved his wife, children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his soul mate and wife of 53 years, Audrey F. (Yesensky) Armstrong; daughter, Shannon (Daniel) Schultz of North Huntingdon; son, Larry S. (Dawn) Armstrong, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Hannah, Dane, Ethan, Dusk and Riley; a sister-in-law, Peggy Armstrong and 3 nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Armstrong. There is no visitation. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Marie A. Quezada, age 83, of McKeesport, passed away on April 1, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Born December 30, 1939, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Nizinski) Deemer and the wife of the late Salvadore "Chick" Quezada for 33 years.
Marie dedicated her life to taking care of her family. In her early years, she was a nurse's aide for the Palmer House Assisted Living. Marie was a devoted Catholic; she attended church at St Peter's Roman Catholic Church most of her life and became a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. Her faith meant everything to her.
